High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1124: Chapter 186: A Blood Symbol Bullet

Mike Gold Cypress Plano was extremely annoyed at the moment.

Just over ten minutes ago, he had passed by the lakeside pavilion when he noticed some light there. Driven by some inexplicable impulse, he had approached to take a look, only to be unexpectedly hit by a ’Fox Bullet’ flying out of the pavilion, revealing his presence on the spot.

This gave him a sense of failure as if his efforts were in vain, and also a feeling of shameful annoyance like someone caught red-handed while preparing to throw a dung bomb at someone else’s house.

Of course, Sepulano did not come to the Lakeside of Bell Lake in the dead of night to actually throw dung eggs into the lake.

He came to the Lakeside of Bell Lake at night to cheer on the Fishman Tribe in the lake and incidentally conduct the first trade of the new semester—the chaos during the recent Forbidden Spell Festival at Lin Zhong Lake caused many students in the lake to fall into the water. Although the students all safely made it ashore, their possessions had been privately seized by the Fishman. As a result, the Fishman Tribe had accumulated many good items.

These ’merchandise’ were of good quality and low price and always sold well on the black market in Beta Town; the recent rise to power of the Auspicious had been largely financed by this enterprise.

Besides, Mike Gold Cypress Plano had also brought along from the Alpha Academy Club Union those clubs supporting the Fishman Tribe’s cause of justice, aiding the Fishman Tribe’s ’Justice Fund’—including some gold beans, stone knives and axes, bone symbols, Alpha plates, and many little trinkets decorated with fish scales and fins.

These items were now stuffed in the simple mustard bag at his waist.

It would take only seconds for him, under the cover of night, to rendezvous with the Fishman clients quietly surfacing from the water, hand over the money, and hand over the goods. If time permitted, Sepulano wouldn’t mind washing his hands several times afterwards and giving the Fishman liaison a pat on the shoulder, telling them that Alpha Fortress stood behind them as the strongest support of their just cause.

After all, talking doesn’t cost anything, and a little more at no cost is also a kind of investment, isn’t it?

But now, all these plans had been thwarted by his curious glance.

Apart from the frustration at his own unnecessary actions causing trouble, Sepulano was even more infuriated by the reactions of Zheng Qing and the others.

Despite knowing his identity, this group of first-year students had dared to open their Law book in front of him, dared to throw punches at him! If this were happening in a lounge at Alpha Fortress, Sepulano would surely have shown these first-year punks what it’s like to be furiously confronted.

Of course, as a gentleman of upbringing and one who swore on the honor of Alpha Fortress, Sepulano would never admit to being a hot-headed fellow, nor would he ever show the frustration in his heart on his face. On the surface, he was still that deeply calculating, unflappable leader of the Auspicious.

After once again evading the encirclement of the Atoning Hunters, Sepulano didn’t disappear into the night. Instead, he sneered and flipped to the last page of his Law book.

He planned to teach these first-year punks a profound lesson—as for those two little animals and the Little Witch huddled together with them, it was just their bad luck.

”South Mountain fierce and fierce, drifting winds blow and blow!”

”South Mountain orderly and orderly, drifting winds waft and waft!”

”Devious wind blows fiercely, tears flow in torrents!”

”Kan Han roars like a tiger, none can match his force!”

...

Compared to the composed Sepulano, Zheng Qing was very tense from the start.

He had led the Atoning Hunters on training exercises against the Judgement Hunting Team more than once, and in those times, he had been thrashed by the opposing hunters. So, he was well aware that in most of the basic skills, including mastery of curses, his side was far inferior to Sepulano.

Even during the last campus cup competition for newcomers, if a big black cat hadn’t escaped from his amulet and killed nearly all of the demons in the Hunting Ground, Zheng Qing would have doubted whether his hunting team could perform even slightly better than Matthew’s team.

Therefore, from the moment he took action against Sepulano, he was prepared for the worst.

That his first Fu Bullet didn’t work was okay, Zheng Qing could accept that. If Sepulano had been trapped by his first Fu Bullet, he might have suspected he was facing a fake Sepulano.

The failure of Xiao Xiao’s and Lin Guo’s ’Dual Horse Curse,’ although disappointing to Zheng Qing, was also acceptable.

After all, these two spells were among the first that students at Alpha Academy were exposed to—just as students at Jiuyou Academy first learned the Binding Spell—many good students would thoroughly study such basic curses, and correspondingly, there were abundant counter-spells and defensive spells for them. Sepulano’s dodging of these two spells in the blink of an eye suggested he didn’t carry any strong amulets and didn’t dare to take such low-damage curses lightly.

Then the Atoning Hunters proceeded to attack using their strengths against what they presumed were not quite weaknesses for the other party.

To Zheng Qing’s surprise, Sepulano once again did not take the hit head-on but instead used an escape spell for the second time.

This caught Zheng Qing off guard. In his view, Sepulano, being burly and having a face full of horizontal scars, should not shy away from close combat, and the materials he had collected earlier indicated that Sepulano’s fighting skills were also remarkable. More importantly, avoiding combat multiple times in a row would make even Zheng Qing feel somewhat stifled; how could the other man use it so proficiently!

If only he would engage with Zhang Ji Xin and the others, just entangling for a dozen seconds, Zheng Qing could throw out the backup plan he had prepared. At the very least, they could hold out until the rest of the patrol team arrived.

Sepulano would be caught anyway, the only difference being that if they did it themselves, it would serve as a slight revenge, while if the patrol team handled it, they would have to proceed by the book.

Unfortunately, Sepulano didn’t give Zheng Qing that chance.

Having escaped the encirclement, Sepulano opened his Law book, and almost simultaneously, four spells echoed in Zheng Qing’s ears: ”South Mountain intense... the brigand winds blow wildly... never reaching the peaceful shore!”

Zheng Qing had never heard of this spell.

But based on the keywords in the Spell Formula and a subtle intuition, and more importantly, Sepulano’s grave expression, Zheng Qing immediately realized that this spell wasn’t a simple one used to summon wind; it likely involved a ’wind disaster’ or ’wind adversity’ curse.

Under the night sky, on the Lakeside of Bell Lake, casting such a spell that wouldn’t produce bright flames, explosive sounds, nor cause strange roars or abnormal noise, was an extremely apt choice to delay the discovery by the rest of the patrol team to the greatest extent.

Without knowledge of the origin and specific effectiveness of this spell, nor whom it specifically cursed—Zheng Qing suspected it was an area-effect curse—he naturally couldn’t attempt targeted resistance.

Faced with this sudden emergency, Zheng Qing instinctively rotated the magazine of the Silver Python in his hand.

To the last slot.

Inside was a Fu Bullet, wrapped in a blood symbol that Zheng Qing had drawn himself.

Then he aimed at Sepulano and pulled the trigger.
