High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1132: Chapter 194 Witches

”People from Alpha come to Jiuyou Academy to run wild, why is it in the end that a student from Jiuyou Academy himself is put on school probation!”

”What is the name of this institution now, Jiuyou or Alpha?”

”Is it really okay for you to do this?”

Su Shijun, hands braced on that massive mahogany desk, looked at Professor Yao indignantly, ”Or should I say, you old-timers have already raised the white flag and admitted that you are now vassals of Alpha Academy?”

Last night, by the Lakeside of Bell Lake, when Dean Yao and the old man Hemingway broke through the space in succession, many sensitive Divine Thoughts inside and outside the school were startled awake and craned their necks to have a peek.

Most of these Divine Thoughts were unreasonably expelled from the territory by the Lord Dean of Jiuyou Academy, with only a few related to the parties involved barely allowed to stay as witnesses.

Among them was Su Shijun.

At that time, Dean Yao assured these bystanders that he would deal with the matter fairly and justly, so while the witch whose fox cub was kicked out was furious, she still did not make more of a fuss, only waited quietly for the school to handle it.

She waited one whole day, and the campus was overrun with paper cranes flying all over, with all sorts of messages coming one after another.

By the nighttime regular meeting, First University issued a temporary announcement, briefly describing the cause, process, and outcome of the incident, and concurrently declared that Mike Gold Cypress Plano received an internal warning, and Zheng Qing was put on school probation for three months.

Upon the news release, an uproar spread throughout the academy.

Su Shijun also stormed into Old Yao’s office, seething with anger.

Professor Yao leisurely filled his tobacco pipe—new pipes need to be burned a bit to lose that raw taste—hearing the witch’s interrogations, he merely lifted his eyelids to glance at the Upper House Member of the Moon Council sitting before his desk.

”Don’t try to provoke me with reverse psychology on this matter. It’s useless.”

The Dean of Jiuyou Academy curled his lip slightly, his hands skilled at work, ”Compared to your question, I’m more curious about something else... What Zheng Qing’s school probation has to do with you, or whether or not he gets expelled from the school. Why are you so anxious and upset about this matter? If the paparazzi from Beta Town Post see this, they might even think Zheng Qing is the child’s father.”

”Child’s father?!” The rage that had been fueling Su Shijun was instantly drained by that term, her momentum crumbling, she snapped up straight, stammering, ”My anger, it’s because, because I also graduated from Jiuyou Academy! As a former member of Jiuyou Academy, I will absolutely not tolerate the honor of the academy being tarnished by others!!”

Initially, she stuttered a bit, but the more she explained, the more fluidly she spoke, so that by the end, even she felt that she really believed it.

Professor Yao pinched a small clump of golden tobacco from the pouch, crushed it, and stuffed it into the pipe.

”If you were a student of Alpha Fortress, that excuse might fool those reporters,” the professor snorted, casting a sideways glance at the witch, ”Honor? Member? Do you think this is the nobility of the Moon Council pulling out their Law books at each other?”

”Let them report it then!” Su Shijun had regained her composure by this point.

”They might not dare, but rumors have more than two guts,” Professor Yao mused whether or not to light his pipe in front of the witch as he stuffed it with tobacco and sucked on it, ”Even if they grow a thousand guts, what does it have to do with me!” Because there were no outsiders, the witch could afford to be a little more unrestrained than she would usually be in what she said, ”That guy, what’s-his-name, even dared to kick Poseidon... does he have a death wish?”

Professor Yao finally put down his pipe without lighting it and tapped the table with the bowl of the pipe, ”Hey, Miss Su... I’m still sitting behind this desk! Can you not threaten our school’s students right in front of me? It makes things very difficult for me... Even if you really want to do something to him, please don’t say it in front of me!”

”And with such blatant actions and obvious words, aren’t you afraid someone might find out something? Even if I wanted to play dumb, I can’t keep it up anymore!”

Before Su Shijun could even start to speak, the office door was suddenly flung open with a bang.

An acutely shrill voice accompanied by the fluttering of wings barged into the ears of the two great wizards in the office. With it came the Door Gods’ noisy commotion.

”You can’t go in, it’s not your turn yet... Dean Yao, I’m so sorry, Dean Yao, I told her you had visitors!” the green-skinned parrot, responsible for front desk guidance, flapped its wings, crying injustice, ”This girl not only wouldn’t listen but also threatened to pluck all my feathers!”

”She has the password,” God Tu shouted from behind the parrot, attempting to justify his action of opening the door.

”That’s right, it’s even tonight’s password!” Yu Lei also shouted, seemingly cheering the two of them on.

Dean Yao paid no attention to the clamor between the Door Gods and the parrot; his focus was entirely on the student who had just barged in. Meanwhile, Su Shijun had hidden her figure the moment the stranger entered—this was important because her image had been slightly compromised during her recent outburst, and she needed a little time to adjust.

”Dean Yao, I can testify for you, Zheng Qing was truly acting in self-defense!”

”That guy Sepulano was about to hit us with a high-tier spell... If Zheng Qing hadn’t interrupted his spell, we would definitely be the ones lying in the hospital right now.”

”Moreover, Sepulano was the first to violate the Campus Management Regulations, appearing at the Lakeside of Bell Lake during the time and at the place of curfew. As a member of the Night Patrol Team by Bell Lake, Zheng Qing had the right to use magic to control the violator. We can’t judge right or wrong based solely on the outcome; the context in which the event occurred is most important.”

”Your judgment on this matter was really wrong!”

The witch who rushed into the office was holding a stack of homework books and barged straight to the desk, bravely meeting the professor’s eyes, rattling off a great deal before finally catching her breath.

Old Yao held his pipe, looking at her with a smile, not responding to her immediately.

”Jiang Yu?” The professor blinked, ”That doesn’t sound like you... I’ve always thought you were a very polite child.”

Jiang Yu seemed to realize her rashness at that moment and tightened her hold on the stack of homework books, ”J-just now, the meeting ended, and I-I came to deliver homework... The office password was given to me by you.”

”But I never gave you permission to barge in like that.” The professor turned to look at the eager green-skinned parrots on the other side and complimented, ”Thank you for the hard work. I can assure you that she definitely won’t pluck your feathers.”

With that, he waved his hand.

The green-skinned parrot seemed to roll out of the office against its will. The two Door Gods also had good judgment, shouting loudly as they closed the door with a yank.

The office door ’banged’ shut again.

”Parrot feathers aren’t valuable, but if you want, I can give you a few Blue Phoenix Feathers.” A familiar yet strange voice suddenly rang in Jiang Yu’s ear, startling the young witch who was standing there stunned.
