High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 898: Chapter 246 Min Tianjiwei

”Wait, wait!”

The Rat Wizard raised its paw, shouting, trying to stop Su Shijun’s next action—a Protect Legal Formation with the threat of a genuine Big Wizard was indeed a real concern. Even though it was merely an avatar of the Rat Immortal and did not possess an actual soul, the fear stemming from the depths of life still made it tremble when faced with the entity known as ’Death’.

Su Shijun lowered her head, looking indifferently at the four shadows trapped in a dilemma.

She was very shrewd, not attempting to lift the black masks off the faces of the ’poachers,’ nor did she think to capture them and hand them over to the Trident Sword for further investigation—tracking was the Hunters’ job, she was just a researcher—the school had tasked her with the matter with an implication of ’stop here.’

Of course, not delving into the identities and backgrounds of the ’poachers’ did not mean she was uninterested in them. A witch’s curiosity was naturally strong, and when this witch also juggled research work, that curiosity would naturally grow exponentially.

So, hearing the Rat Wizard’s loud cry, the shadow of a fox tail behind the witch paused briefly, not smashing down immediately.

The Rat Wizard let out a sigh of relief, wiping what might have been a sweat from its forehead.

Then, before the witch’s patience ran out, it extended its paw deep into its robe, fished out a Crystal Ball, and tossed it into the snow.

It was late, and the sky was dark, but for those present, the night did not hinder their vision in the slightest. Not to mention, the Crystal Ball itself emitted a halo, casting an inch of brilliance on the snow.

Utilizing that halo, the image within the Crystal Ball was clearly displayed to all.

In the sphere, a chaotic scene was reflected—by the background, it seemed to also be in a forest blanketed with snow—four red-eyed figures were fiercely attacking a group of young wizards. Those youths were struggling, failing to defend on all fronts, seemingly on the brink of being Torn Into Pieces by those frenzied assailants any moment.

Su Shijun’s eyes suddenly narrowed.

Behind her, three fox tails seemed to sense their master’s wrath, simultaneously tensing up, their tips pointing straight at the Rat Wizard. It would take but a thought to turn it into a mound of flesh.

”Ten minutes!”

The Rat Wizard yelled again, raising its paw to gesture the number ’ten,’ but it seemed to forget that a mouse’s forepaws only had four toes, which made its gesticulation a bit comical.

However, everyone present was on edge, paying no mind to this small amusement.

”Ten minutes!” the Rat Wizard repeated, raising its voice, explaining quickly: ”To kill even a few of us here, you would need at least ten minutes! Even with the enhancement of the First University Guardian Array, this time will not shorten.”

”Even killing a chicken carries the risk of being pecked... let alone four fully-armed wizards!”

”We will not surrender without a fight!”

”And ten minutes is enough for our Righteous Bodies to tear those young kids into pieces, then to chop a few pine trees, dig up some wooden jars, mingling it with pine needles and snow water, and cooking the kids’ flesh into dishes. If I’m not mistaken, those kids can only hold up for two minutes against our Righteous Bodies’ attack... perhaps an extra thirty seconds for our Righteous Bodies to collect the spoils of war!”

”Save them or kill us—you only have one choice!”

The Rat Wizard shouted out the long speech without any stammering. It didn’t relax afterwards but instead got ready, watching the witch warily, prepared for a fight to the finish.

Su Shijun took a deep breath.

She hated being threatened more than anything.

”One minute forty seconds!” the Rat Wizard yelled again, fearing the witch would lose her senses, reminding of the time: ”If you can’t make up your mind within thirty seconds, then even if you rescue those kids within two minutes, it will be inevitable for some to have irreversible disabilities! After one minute, each of them will be grievously injured! After two minutes, you can bring an urn to collect them from the school!”

Ceramic urns are often used by wizards to store ashes.

The Rat Wizard’s menace was palpable in his words.

”A very poor way to negotiate,” Su Shijun finally spoke, ”Your proposals are all terrible... I choose my own plan.”

Accompanying her voice, the three huge fox tails behind her suddenly danced wildly, and with a single whip-stroke, she sent the Rat Wizard, Duke Milton, and the Wandering Wizard tumbling to the ground, rolling in the snow a few times along with the swift motion of the fox tails.

”Hasn’t anyone ever told you... to never reason with an angry lady?!”

”Fifteen seconds,” Su Shijun raised a finger, held it up in front of her, and then slowly leveled it, pointing it at the Rat Wizard below. Her fingertip circled over several dark figures before finally resting on the ’poacher’ clad in sunglasses and a cloak impervious to the wind, ”Killing you four may take me ten minutes... but killing a completely bound prey takes just fifteen seconds.”

Before the words were even finished, the three fox tails struck the unfortunate man in sunglasses with a combined force.

”Bang!”

Under the external force, the black robe on the man in sunglasses exploded, revealing his robust upper body and a face full of malevolence. His body was covered with black magic patterns, extending up his shoulders, neck, and creeping onto his cheeks.

But those magic patterns weren’t the most eye-catching detail.

The most striking feature was the ’poacher’s’ eyes.

They were a pair of crimson, violent, yet utterly emotionless eyes.

”Heh... as expected.” Su Shijun lifted her arm, and a Law Book, which had appeared before her at some unknown time, was floating in mid-air, slowly turning pages, ”Min! Tian! Ji! Wei!”

”Boom!”

The entire space was engulfed in a wild surge of power that took a long time to subside.

The Rat Wizard hugged his head, burying almost half of his body into the ground, and then concentrated all his magic power to construct layer upon layer of protective shields behind him to barely avoid injury from the raging force.

After a while.

When the atmosphere outside gradually calmed down, the Rat Wizard finally carefully poked out half of his head from the ground.

All was clean to the eye.

There was no snow, no trees, no shrubs, no vine-made cages, no green spaces sealing off the area.

All that remained was a charred, slightly stinky piece of ground.

And wisps of grayish-white smoke, slowly rising from the land, disappearing into the heavy night sky.

”Where are they?” asked the Rat Wizard as he perked up his ears and looked around.

”Over here... cough cough!” Duke Milton’s hoarse voice sounded not far away.
