Chapter 897: Chapter 245: Catching a Turtle in a Jar

”Boom!”

Under the sway of the fox tail, several tall pines collapsed with a dull sounding crash. Several dark figures darted out from under the inclined trunks, silent as smoke as they ran toward the distance, not even turning their heads.

They remained silent, never looking back, worrying about being caught by the Upper House member of the Moon Council chasing them. After all, sometimes, as long as no one has completely turned their back, it’s possible for everyone to tacitly compromise on many things.

First University had assigned Su Shijun this time to capture these troublemakers, partly considering these factors.

However, no one had anticipated that, under the enhancement of the Guardian Array from First University, Su Shijun’s combat power would skyrocket several times, making those four ill-intentioned ’poachers’ scurry like rats, gasping for breath.

”Lei!”

A soft reprimand echoed through the forest clearing, and amidst the flurry of snow kicked up by the trunks, several thick vines spread out from the void, rapidly splitting into hundreds of tendrils, weaving together a giant ’cage’ glowing green.

The figures of the four ’poachers’ hadn’t run far before they were trapped in this cage.

”Break through!”

Wrapped in a black robe, the nameless poacher wearing sunglasses muttered lowly, his body suddenly bursting into a fierce blood-red flame, then charging straight at the green cage made of vines.

”Bang!”

The heavy impact seemed to shake the entire space, and the poacher who tried to forcibly break through not only failed to break the cage made of vines but was stuck to the green light of the cage—more vividly put, like a red-headed fly stuck to a flypaper.

The other three ’poachers’ immediately halted their steps, stopping just a foot away from the green light screen.

”F*ck!”

The avatar of Rat Immortal flipped off the green light screen, then turned to look at Milton, his tone somewhat irritable, ”What’s going on... Isn’t she one of your people from the Moon Council? Why would she be blessed by the Guardian Array from First University! Is the Moon Council really planning to stay behind First University forever as underlings?”

”This matter is unrelated to the Council,” Duke Milton replied harshly. ”Whether it’s her or me, we’re making our own choices... Our choices have nothing to do with our family, nor with the Council!”

”Ha! How interesting! It’s like someone would believe what you just said,” Rat Wizard’s tail suddenly slid out from under his robe and vigorously whipped on the snowy ground, drawing a deep trench and stirring up a flurry of snowflakes.

”Well, calm down, calm down... Instead of analyzing those inconclusive issues, let’s focus on something more practical. For example, how do we get that girl from the Su family to let go?” The Wandering Wizard stopped the bickering between his two companions, then looked at Duke Milton, his tone very gentle, ”Karen’s boy, I heard you have a good relationship with that little girl from the Su family? Why don’t you try talking to her?”

Upon hearing this, Milton’s face darkened, ignoring the Wandering Wizard, and pulled out a small horn knife from his bosom, directly slashing at the green screen - in his view, using violence to break the barrier seemed to be a more likely solution to the problem.

”Ga ga ga!” the Rat Wizard let out a creepy laugh, ”You’re letting this little vampire go talk to that little fox? You must not have read the newspaper for half a year! Even if I usually live underground, I know...”

The Rat Wizard’s words abruptly stopped there.

It wasn’t that he had finished speaking, but rather, directly above him to the side, a tall witch clad in a Red Cloak was holding her arms and glaring coldly at him.

Noticing that the Rat Wizard had closed his mouth, Su Shijun’s lips curled into a chilly smile.

”Know what? Continue, will you?” The witch’s voice was very calm, but her gaze towards the ’poachers’ was extremely dangerous—her eyes particularly lingered on Milton for a few seconds—ultimately, she redirected her focus back to the Rat Wizard and said softly, ”If what you say makes sense, I’ll let you die a swift death.”

It should be noted here that all four ’poachers’, including Duke Milton, were wearing black robes that could alter physical features and conceal their true identities. This was not only to cover their true identities and prevent bringing disaster to their families or organizations, but also to shield against the probes and attacks of the Guardian Array of the First University.

Overall, the effect of these robes was quite impressive.

Whether it was the group of four silently creating a ’sandbox world’ at the edge of the Silent Forest or their subsequent continuous escapes under the attack of the Guardian Array from the First University, this was evident.

But that was all that could be said about it.

Being repeatedly eluded by their prey, the First University felt rather embarrassed—though as a school, it essentially had no real face—but as a place known to have the concept of ’life’, the First University was not lacking in the concept of ’adaptability.’

This ’adaptability’, on ordinary days, might be just silently changing a few forest paths or the nameplates of some pavilions as harmless little jokes with the students. However, today, in the face of external aggression, the First University would exert this initiative to the fullest.

Like choosing an appropriate ’main array controller’.

Under the auspices of the student council and the School Works Committee, the Guardian Array of the First University operated smoothly without any major flaws. But often, ’smoothly’ meant sluggish and conservative reactions. This sluggishness and conservatism were extremely fatal issues in combat.

Therefore, after getting authorization from a certain Yellow Flowered Cat, the First University immediately chose Su Shijun as the main controller of the Protect Legal Formation, and she led the chase against the ’poachers’ in the latter half of the mission.

This choice was very successful.

In less than half an hour, the four unwelcome visitors wildly fleeing in the Silent Forest were trapped by Su Shijun’s ’Intense Binding Spell.’

”Knowing you are the most beautiful, kindest, and smartest witch in the entire wizard world, no, the entire universe, no no, the entire multiverse...” The Rat Wizard truly possessed a natural ’rat nature’, and in terms of slickness, even a Wandering Wizard would bow down. In just the blink of an eye, he began to flatter Su Shijun with nauseating phrases, showing none of the dignity and self-respect a great figure should have.

However, Su Daxu, used to such flattery, felt nothing about the compliments from the Rat Wizard.

After all, being sharp-faced and monkey-cheeked, receiving its praises felt no achievement at all.

”If it’s just on this level, then you might as well recite your prayer for the dead.” Behind Su Shijun, her Red Cloak fluttered high, three huge fox tail silhouettes slowly swaying in mid-air, and waves of visibly intense magic energy were crazily compressing and gathering with that swaying.
