High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 890: Chapter 238 Out of Control VS Rampage

As it turned out, the ”Quartet” was not so kind-hearted after all.

As the bright moonlight gently rippled through the darkness, the wizards of the Assistant Team and the Absolution Hunting Team almost simultaneously felt an overwhelming sleepiness assail them. The flowing moonlight was filled with the undulations of hypnotic waves.

”Ah...”

Just as Zheng Qing’s eyelids touched, he let out a scream and quickly opened his eyes wide again. For in that instant he closed them, it felt as though someone had taken a chisel and smashed it into his eye sockets with force, as if to crack open his skull.

At this moment, not to mention closing his eyes, even if his eyeballs popped out of their sockets, Zheng Qing probably wouldn’t find it strange.

——He really envied Doctor Du Zemu for being able to pop out his eyeballs for a SPA anytime and anywhere, that must feel extremely comfortable. Speaking of which, when the Emperor of the South Sea suddenly and the Emperor of the North Sea unexpectedly engraved seven orifices into Chaos as a repayment for its kindness, he wondered if Chaos had felt the same pain as he did now?

Clenching his teeth, Zheng Qing let out a muffled groan and knelt to the ground. His mind raced frantically, touching upon those tangential thoughts, trying desperately to divert his attention.

”As expected...”

”I guessed as much...”

”The switch is flipped on...”

”It can only be shut off by oneself...”

The Quartet’s fragmented conversation, accompanied by their eerie tones, seeped into Zheng Qing’s ears like a sponge pad, alleviating that drilling pain. It was quite miraculous.

The young warlock knelt in the snowy terrain, breathing heavily, tilting his head, and looking towards those four distant figures.

The moonlight was so bright it stung his eyes, causing Zheng Qing to squint involuntarily.

He couldn’t help but twitch the corners of his mouth — just a few minutes ago, the teaching assistants were breaking their heads over how to clearly see the path a few steps away, wasting a good deal of magic power. And now, without the need for any magic power, Zheng Qing could clearly see the cobweb hanging on the withered bush four or five meters away, distinguish every shiny spider silk on it and each of its intricate junctions. Even the bark of the silent big trees around was coated with a shiny layer by the moonlight.

For a moment, Zheng Qing felt he should put his sunglasses back on to protect his eyes from the glaring reflection off the snowy ground.

The cold air traveled down through his mouth, throat, and finally surged into the warm alveoli, then, bearing exhaust and a slight iron-blood scent, was exhaled back out by him. Under the pristine moonlight, amidst the snowy terrain, the white stream of air left Zheng Qing and maintained its integrity for only a short while before it dissipated and blended into this silent and pure white world.

”Crimson eyes...”

”Not a demon...”

”A restless aura...”

”Quite comforting...”

”You, you’re not human...” Zheng Qing rasped, interrupting the ’Quartet’s’ aria, gasping for breath and chuckling coldly, he added, ”Even a three-year-old knows that humans don’t look like you...”

His words were not meant as a provocation, but rather as a statement of fact.

After looking up earlier and with the help of the moonlight, Zheng Qing had immediately seen what the ’Quartet’ actually looked like.

The first guy on the left was three zhang tall, broad-shouldered and robust, with nostrils flaring to the sky, and a brain topped with a pair of crescent-shaped, spiraling large horns, looking ridiculously like he had a bull head. Fortunately, the part of his body below the head looked somewhat normal, which somewhat pulled his image back a bit.

The second guy on the left, in stark contrast to the first, was about three feet tall, with a pointed head and hunched back, as if carrying a huge turtle shell—no, not as if, he was literally carrying a huge turtle shell!

If Zheng Qing hadn’t already seen Kappas numerous times at school, he would have definitely mistaken the second guy for a Kappa.

Compared to the left two’s either ferocious or sleazy appearance, the two on the right looked much better.

The first on the right was all aglow with golden light, his brows and eyes brimmed with a smile, and he exuded a peaceful demeanor, as if every pore radiated sanctity, kindness, and honesty, inspiring an involuntary sense of reverence in onlookers.

The second on the right was the only one of the four whose gender and identity could be clearly discerned—because she was a beautiful snake woman—with a lovely face, waterfall-like black hair, combined with a thick, colorful snake body. At first glance, she indeed had a unique charm. No wonder that since ancient times, warlocks who fancied liaisons with beautiful snake women were never in short supply.

Although the four uninvited guests were all draped in black cloaks, concealing most of their bodies, with the parts that were exposed, Zheng Qing was still able to piece together their complete image.

”How interesting,” the cost student calmed his racing heart and continued, ”Although the Silent Forest isn’t part of First University’s campus, it still lies on Buji Island, within First University’s control range... That you have the ability to attack a large team of registered wizards here is truly remarkable.”

”No attack...” The Minotaur snorted, shaking its head in denial—a strange pitch contrasted sharply with its ferocious appearance, causing the young Warlock’s mind to suddenly brim with a host of terms like ’Billy,’ ’Big Bro,’ ’Ambrosio Ivankov,’ followed by several shivers.

”Just resting...” The guy with the Turtle Shell pulled out a long wooden stick from somewhere and pointed it at the group of wizards behind Zheng Qing.

Zheng Qing looked back, falling silent—everyone, including Zhang Yu, Thomas, Hilda, and the others seemed like they were immersed in the most wonderful slumber. Zheng Qing even saw Xin Fat Man puffing his cheeks, grinding his teeth rapidly; there was no doubt he was savoring a feast in his dream.

”Dawn has arrived...” The beautiful snake woman looked up at the sky at the full moon they had summoned, her expression unspeakably melancholic, stirring a feeling of pity in those who saw it.

”Everything as it was...” The last among them, seemingly god-like, looked at Zheng Qing with a calm gaze, his eyes clear and his expression resolute.

Zheng Qing listened to those eerie tones and couldn’t help but hiss in frustration.

”Can’t you speak properly!” he said, looking somewhat annoyed at the guests, ”There’s no one else here besides me. Are you still worried I might recognize you? Also, what’s the purpose of doing all this?”

The four uninvited guests exchanged glances.

After a few seconds, the Minotaur was the first to speak, its voice rough and breathy, ”I told you, there’s no need to change every sentence with magic... It’s completely unnecessary!”

”Shut up, you idiot!” The short one with the Turtle Shell, frustrated, leaped up and slapped the back of the Minotaur’s knee, ”The school has plenty of means to detect the truth left behind in this space-time! Will you die if you talk less?”
