Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 498: Chapter 270: Searching for Family (First Update)

Cameron Spencer steadied himself by holding onto Nick Zeller’s arm and quickly glanced at him.

At such a close distance, he finally had a chance to carefully observe the man’s appearance.

Unfortunately, whether it was because too much time had passed, or he simply wasn’t as he had imagined, he couldn’t discern any familiar features or traits in his face.

Cameron felt a bit disappointed and quickly lowered his gaze, discreetly clutching the strand of hair in his palm, and chuckled, ”Getting old, can’t even walk steadily anymore.”

”Boss Spencer is still full of vigor, your son isn’t even a year old yet, how can you call yourself old?” Nick Zeller replied with a hint of sarcasm.

They didn’t say anything further.

Cameron exerted a lot of effort to straighten his spine and slowly and steadily walked inside.

Nick followed behind, watching his back, his pupils constricting almost imperceptibly.

By the time he returned inside, he had already regained his composure.

In the living room, Gabrielle Winters sat beside Brooke Osborne and her mom, playing with Brooke’s son.

Brooke’s dad was alone, sipping tea and browsing his phone.

Cameron walked in and coughed, ”I still have some matters to attend to, so I’ll be leaving. You all can stay a bit longer if you want.”

Brooke’s mom immediately stood up, smiling, ”We’ve been here for a while too, it’s time to head back. Little Winter is hungry and needs to be fed.”

Brooke blushed and lowered her head.

In such matters, Brooke’s dad usually deferred to Brooke’s mom.

So the family, having been there for less than half an hour, left in unison.

Kenneth Osborne, having breakfast in the dining room, was also called out to see them off.

The group entered the elevator, and Kenneth saw them all the way to the ground floor.

Brooke’s mom held his hand and whispered, ”Since you’re engaged to Lawrence, you should get married soon. Who knows if your current company can continue, you’ll probably need to rely on your sister and brother-in-law in the future. Nora’s family has a big apartment, she’s pretty good at earning money, and there are no other burdens at home. Don’t miss such an opportunity.”

Kenneth found it both amusing and absurd but nodded and said, ”I know. I’m also planning to marry Nora soon. If nothing goes wrong, it should happen by the end of the year.”

”That’s good.” Brooke’s mom nodded with satisfaction, ”Once married, don’t rush into having kids. You’re both still young; focus on earning money first.”

Kenneth was both surprised and not surprised.

He smiled, ”Once I’ve cleared my debts, I’ll think about having kids.”

”Ah? How long will that take?” Brooke’s mom asked with concern.

Many ordinary people might never even see a million in their lifetime, let alone owe over a billion.

Kenneth smiled, ”I don’t know yet, it depends on how much my sister and brother-in-law can help.”

”Don’t worry! I’ll find a way to get your brother-in-law to assist!” Brooke’s mom nearly pounded her chest in assurance.

Kenneth advised, ”For these matters, don’t let my sister and brother-in-law bring them up. My sister isn’t great with words, and if she brings it up directly to him, it will hurt their relationship. The Spencer Family currently only has little Winter as a son, but don’t be too secure. Given Boss Spencer’s status, having another son is a matter of minutes.”

”Ah? That can’t be...” Brooke’s mom was puzzled, ”He’s already so old, being able to have one with our Brooke was already a stroke of luck, how can he have another son?”

Cameron is over sixty years old.

Kenneth whispered, ”...Wealthy people can opt for IVF... as many kids as they want, as long as there’s a woman willing to bear them.”

With that explanation, Brooke’s mom understood.

”What should we do then?!” Brooke’s mom became anxious, ”We can’t let that happen!”

”I know. So you need to keep the bond between my sister and brother-in-law strong, use the soft approach. You, along with Dad, should take the hard stance. For things my sister finds hard to express, you should directly tell him. He knows that you and Dad are different from my sister, he won’t hold it against her.”

Brooke’s mom felt a bit dizzy from all this talk, but she decided to take Kenneth’s advice.

...

Cameron returned home and quickly took out the strand of hair, placed it alongside his own hair, and had his personal secretary take it to a lab for a DNA test.

For assurance, he divided the strand into several parts, pairing each with his own hair, and had different people deliver them to various testing agencies.

He even personally delivered one sample to a certain lab.

This way, at least five DNA test reports from different labs could verify each other, minimizing the chance of errors or human mistakes.

He paid for expedited service for each test, thus obtaining all the results within three hours.
