Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 455: Chapter 247: There Is Always Someone Better

”Uncle! Uncle! I finally get to see you! I missed you so much!”

It was none other than Ruby Sheldon, the little princess of the Sheldon Family.

Lucas Harlow also adored his sister’s daughter, who she had after much difficulty as an older mother. This was his niece.

He smiled and patted her head, saying, ”We just saw each other in July. You couldn’t have forgotten so soon, right?”

In July, Ruby had her graduation ceremony, and Lucas had gone abroad specifically to attend.

”For me, a day without seeing Uncle feels like three years. I miss you even if we’re apart for a day, let alone half a year!” Ruby said seriously, swaying with her hands behind her back, looking very cute.

Lucas chuckled, ”Alright, I miss Betty too. But I have things to do right now, so I’ll chat with you when I get back.”

Ruby had just seen Lucas and couldn’t let him go. She clung to his arm like a monkey and repeatedly said, ”Uncle, where are you going? I’ll go with you!”

Lucas tried to persuade her for a while, but Ruby wouldn’t listen. Aiden Sheldon spoiled her and nonchalantly said, ”Anyway, you’re going to see her brother and your manager. They’re not outsiders, so just take her along.”

Lucas was anxious and didn’t want to delay, so he reluctantly agreed. As they walked out, he told Ruby, ”Then don’t say a word later, I have important matters to handle.”

Ruby was understanding with everyone, but when it came to Lucas, she just wanted to act spoiled and not reason.

Now that Lucas was reasoning with her, she found it novel and quickly agreed, following him into the car to meet Ryan Sheldon.

...

On the highway, Lawrence Winters’ car also moved ahead.

She had already seen the police cars coming, but the idiot in the other car kept trying to get into an accident with her. Her composure was about to snap.

Fortunately, the police came quickly and stopped her before she made an ”irreparable” mistake in her outburst.

Lawrence Winters got out of the Grand Cherokee and turned to give a hard glare at the sports car that had been trying to force her into a race.

When she turned to face the police, tears suddenly streamed down her face.

She was dressed in a fitted uniform-style mid-length wool coat over a slender, graceful figure, with a belt cinching her waist.

With high boots on her feet, she stood next to the towering Cherokee, looking pitiful and evoking sympathy from all who saw her.

Since the report was made by a female driver, the police station sent female officers to avoid any missteps.

Lawrence’s tearful look was so moving that even the female officers felt deeply sympathetic.

They quickly comforted her by saying, ”Ma’am, it’s okay. Don’t be afraid, we are here to protect you.”

Lawrence nodded, sobbing as she said, ”Thank goodness you came quickly. A little later and he would’ve forced me to flip...boohoo...”

The female officers had seen the surveillance footage before arriving and were disgusted by the sports car’s behavior. Hearing Lawrence speak, they nodded in agreement, ”Don’t worry, we have all the evidence. We won’t let him off!”

Lawrence was slightly startled and suddenly remembered how much fun she had been having on the highway earlier, inexplicably feeling a bit guilty.

She quietly lowered her head, her rapidly fluttering eyelashes showing that she was not entirely calm.

Ryan Sheldon sat properly in the driver’s seat and, when the police arrived, immediately said, ”Please don’t say anything to anyone. I’m waiting for my lawyer.”

This is the second update, a big Chapter with five thousand words, actually similar to three updates.

There are only two updates today, and I’m still missing the extra updates for the two Alliance Hierarch’s rewards. I’ll do three updates tomorrow~

Sending lots of love to the group!
