Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 469: Chapter 254: Business Is Business

”Just because she made an innocuous joke with Betty, and even then Betty misspoke first, you deal with her like this. Don’t you think you’re making a mountain out of a molehill? I really don’t understand, given your demeanor, how you managed to rescue the Sheldon Family’s business from the brink of collapse and support the structure when it was about to fall?”

Aiden Sheldon restrained his smile, lifted his eyelids, and said coldly, ”What is it? Are you trying to teach me what to do or not to do?”

Richard Stetford watched coldly from the side and felt a sense of emotion.

The Aiden Sheldon of the past was such a gentle, amiable man with flexible tactics.

At that time, he looked down on Aiden Sheldon, even thought he was not worthy of his precious daughter.

But Autumn Stetford loved Aiden Sheldon deeply, and later he nodded in agreement for the two to marry.

Soon after marriage, they had two sons, and life became harmonious and beautiful.

But what use is it?

Over twenty years ago, the Sheldon Family was once in a shaky situation.

Don’t even mention being The Wealthiest in the country; even their daily operations were hard to maintain, teetering on the edge of bankruptcy.

Aiden Sheldon, determined to learn from pain, after several major setbacks in the business world, began to transform his style.

The later Aiden Sheldon became decisive, ruthless, even vengeful.

Perhaps most could not endure it, but Richard Stetford appreciated him more and more.

A man like this was able to guide the Sheldon Family to soar in the sky, using only seven or eight years to not only bring the Sheldon Family out of the predicament, but also secure the first position on the national rich list.

It’s been over a decade now, and the Sheldon Family’s status remains unshakable, leaving the second-place far behind.

Such a giant overlord, where does he need to consider others’ feelings and emotions.

Lucas Harlow is too naive to speak like this.

Richard Stetford felt emotional but also a bit displeased that Aiden Sheldon didn’t give Lucas Harlow face in his presence.

His uncle Richard abroad is someone who, with a stomp, even foreign governments rush to greet.

Lucas Harlow’s face grew colder, saying, ”Brother-in-law, all these years I’ve heard people say Betty is your reverse scale, but I didn’t have any direct impression, I thought you just spoiled her particularly.”

”Today I saw how you dealt with those you thought offended Betty.”

”But have you ever thought, Betty is twenty years old, not two, nor twelve.”

”Your excessive protection and intervention have severely affected Betty’s growth.”

”Though she is twenty, her emotional intelligence is only twelve, societal intelligence like a two-year-old, just like an imbecile.”

”A twenty-year-old girl whose daily companions are only her parents, don’t you feel ashamed?”

”Are you qualified parents?”

Aiden Sheldon, in great anger, stood up, took two steps forward, grabbed Lucas Harlow’s suit tie, and said, ”Are you lecturing me? My daughter skipped grades to enter high school at fourteen, went to university at sixteen, and obtained an undergraduate degree from the world’s most famous university at twenty, and you say she’s an imbecile?!”

”Brother-in-law, need I remind you again how Betty got into that university?” Lucas Harlow seized Aiden Sheldon’s wrist, pushed him away forcefully, and angrily said, ”If it weren’t for the billions you donated to that university, would they have accepted her?!”

”Yes, Betty hit the jackpot having parents like you; it’s her fortune! But you can’t treat other people’s children like ants!”

Lucas Harlow thought of today’s plight of Lawrence Winters, and a part of his heart hurt intolerably.

That’s the girl he liked, loved...

That carefree, virtuous girl, forced to bow down under pressure.

So this is the feeling of being oppressed.

Lucas Harlow felt his experiences in life reflections deepen once more.

Previously, he was like an emotionless observer, merely watching life’s myriad facets.

This time, he found himself able to empathize, even immerse in ”others’” feelings.

Boom!

Enraged, Aiden Sheldon could not accept others talking like this.

He clenched his fist and punched straight at Lucas Harlow’s chest!

Lucas Harlow moved quickly, raising one hand to brace Aiden Sheldon’s arm, lifting it sharply upward while retreating rapidly, dissipating the fierce force of Aiden Sheldon.

Richard Stetford’s entourage and Aiden Sheldon’s bodyguards quickly rushed in from outside the door, some surrounding Lucas Harlow, some surrounding Aiden Sheldon, separating the two.

Richard Stetford then stood up, waved his hand, and said, ”You all leave, let the brothers go through their motions, it’s nothing to make a fuss about.”

Ryan Sheldon watched with eyes wide open, unable to close his mouth.

His dad appeared so cultured and gracious, yet he had such a violent side???

And his young uncle, looked so debonair, like a gentleman step out of an old film, why such fierce actions?!

This side of Aiden Sheldon and Lucas Harlow had never been revealed in front of others, even Ryan Sheldon felt his horizons broadened.

When Autumn Stetford heard the report, she hurried over, and the living room was already cleared.

Only the carpet retained traces of undried tea water, indicating what transpired here earlier.

Autumn Stetford frowned, first speaking to her brother, ”Lucas, you know how much your brother-in-law values Betty, why do you blame your brother-in-law for an outsider?”

”Sis, that’s beside the point. I’m talking about something else.” Lucas Harlow pointed at Ryan Sheldon, ”He was the one who offended her first, nearly causing her a car accident! Shouldn’t this matter be resolved?”

Upon hearing it concerned her son, Autumn Stetford immediately sighed with relief, smiling, ”I understand now. I knew you’re not someone who can’t differentiate right from wrong. I will take responsibility for this; we will compensate the young lady. Also, I must punish Ryan.”

She turned to look at Ryan Sheldon, frowned, ”Ryan, go find Butler Shao now, have him take you to the ancestral hall to kneel. Today is New Year’s Eve, I sentence you to keep vigil in the ancestral hall, no dinner for you, you can’t come out until seven tomorrow morning.”
