Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 475: Chapter 257: Already Lending a Helping Hand

A suspicious Cameron Spencer was feeling uneasy.

Kenneth Osborne observed through the phone screen, his heart stirred, and he said with a smile, ”Sis, let me see little Winter Spencer. I really have seen him before.”

He had only seen a photo not long after the baby was born.

Brooke Osborne glanced at Cameron Spencer, held the child, and moved to the phone screen, saying, ”Look, this is your nephew.”

Kenneth Osborne looked closely at the tiny infant through the high-definition camera, noticing that he was constantly rubbing his nose with his little hand and seemed to have a bit of clear nasal discharge.

Kenneth Osborne frowned slightly and said, ”Sis, it looks like Winter Spencer is having a runny nose. Have you consulted a pediatrician? A cold can be serious for young children and shouldn’t be taken lightly.”

As he spoke, the tiny infant actually coughed twice.

Cameron Spencer’s face darkened further and immediately said to his private secretary, ”Go call Winter Spencer’s exclusive doctor! I pay her hundreds of thousands a year to look after my son, just how is she even caring for him!”

Brooke Osborne’s face turned pale, murmuring, ”...He saw a doctor yesterday, the doctor said he just caught a cold, no big deal. Young children can’t take medicine...”

Summer Spencer raised her eyebrow slightly, feeling something was wrong.

Spring Spencer, however, frowned deeply, stepped back, looking as if she didn’t want to get involved in trouble.

Only Blake Leaf, unaware of the situation, continued to ask curiously, ”Spring, isn’t it normal for young children to catch colds? I was constantly having small illnesses when I was little, and it didn’t affect my growth. Aren’t I perfectly healthy now? I heard that getting sick frequently in childhood strengthens the immune system.”

His voice was just loud enough for Kenneth Osborne on the phone to hear.

Kenneth Osborne frowned slightly and said, ”Children who frequently fall ill as infants generally have poorer constitutions. Blake Leaf, you catch a severe cold every time the season changes, probably because you weren’t properly cared for when you were young.”

Blake Leaf originally intended to say something nice to ease everyone’s mood.

Unexpectedly, Kenneth Osborne was relentless, bringing up the past Blake was most unwilling to mention in front of so many people!

Blake Leaf was instantly furious, lacking the control over his emotions that Kenneth Osborne possessed, his anger was visible to anyone.

He clenched his fist, unable to resist saying, ”Mr. Osborne, I catch severe colds when the season changes because I’m just too exhausted, that’s why I get sick. I had to work while studying, and after graduation, I frequently work overtime; otherwise, with my good health, how could I get sick each seasonal change?”

Spring Spencer signaled him to stop talking, but Blake Leaf couldn’t hold back.

He had just started feeling a bit triumphant and didn’t want Kenneth Osborne to ruin it.

He smiled, holding Spring Spencer’s hand, saying, ”Spring, with your care in the future, I definitely won’t get sick again.”

Spring Spencer pulled a bitter smile, originally wanting to pull away from Blake Leaf’s hand, but seeing Summer Spencer’s glance, she immediately ceased struggling, appearing obediently held by Blake Leaf.

Cameron Spencer couldn’t bother with youngsters’ sparring, only waiting sternly for Winter Spencer’s exclusive pediatrician.

Soon the female doctor arrived, in her thirties, with her dark hair tied in a bun at the back, wearing frameless glasses, clearly dressed up for the occasion, her lips blazingly red.

Cameron Spencer suppressed his anger and asked, ”Dr. Hu, my son has had a constant runny nose recently that won’t get better, what should we do?”

The female doctor named Hu smiled professionally, saying, ”Mr. Spencer, actually your son has no real illness. Infants catching colds are common and not to be alarmed. Our clinic promotes natural therapy, which allows children to build their immune system naturally, ensuring no side effects and strengthening their constitution.”

It was surprisingly similar to what Blake Leaf just said.

Cameron Spencer frowned, unsure whether he should trust her.

Kenneth Osborne idly asked over the phone video, ”Dr. Hu, what is natural therapy? Is it from a medical book or school? I’ve never heard of it.”

”Natural therapy has hundreds of years of history, we...” Dr. Hu began saying animatedly, suddenly realizing something was off, quickly covering her mouth.

Cameron Spencer was nearly exploding with anger, ”...Hundreds of years of history?! What kind of quack graduating from which medical college are you?!”

Dr. Hu felt a jolt of panic, sensing trouble, and immediately said, ”What I mentioned was a background introduction, it’s not quite natural therapy. Pediatricians abroad adhere to this approach, as long as the child isn’t feverish or crying loudly, let them recover on their own as much as possible.”

Right then, little Winter Spencer seemed determined to counter her, suddenly starting to cry.

His crying was intermittent, soon his face turned purple, kicking his little legs vigorously, Brooke Osborne was hardly able to hold him.

”What’s wrong? What’s happening to Winter Spencer?” Brooke Osborne was terrified, holding the little Winter Spencer in front of Dr. Hu, ”Doctor, look! Please look! What’s going on?”

Dr. Hu also panicked, saying, ”I didn’t bring my medical kit! I’m going to fetch it!” and ran out in a flurry.

However, little Winter Spencer’s crying grew weaker, as if his throat was being choked, his eyes bulging out.

Kenneth Osborne frowned more deeply, suddenly saying, ”Help him breathe!”

These words reminded someone present.

Spring Spencer immediately stepped forward, leaning near Brooke Osborne, and looking, then took a spray from her bag, saying, ”Try this.”

Brooke Osborne held the child in front of her, Spring Spencer pried open little Winter Spencer’s mouth, spraying a few times inside.

Soon after, little Winter Spencer regained his breath, his complexion returned to normal, no longer crying loudly, yet he whimpered slightly, looking uncomfortable as he snuggled in Brooke Osborne’s arms.

Brooke Osborne was aching with heartache.

Spring Spencer looked at Cameron Spencer, smiling bitterly, saying, ”It seems little Winter Spencer, like me, has asthma.”
