Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 466: Chapter 253: Reaching for the Stars (Third Update)

”From now on, you must be more careful, even when joking, don’t go too far, understand?”

Kenneth Osborne was educating her, but his tone was gentle, so Lawrence Winters wouldn’t feel rebellious.

Lawrence Winters nodded obediently and said, ”I understand. These days, there are so many wealthy people, you never know when you’ll upset someone. Ignoring you is already the lightest punishment. If they don’t like the look of you, they might even come down on you, and then all you can do is lie down and take it.”

Kenneth Osborne laughed, ”That’s a harsh way to put it. Your brother Kenneth won’t let anyone bully you. This time it was a bit tough with Aiden Sheldon, but we still got through it.”

Lawrence Winters thought of the call Aiden Sheldon received and suddenly understood, ”So it was you who asked Mr. Zhao to make the call? Wow, he really has a lot of influence!”

Kenneth Osborne knew it wasn’t Francis Johnson but smiled without saying anything.

The two entered the living room and didn’t mention a word about what had just happened.

Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters were sitting in the living room drinking tea, and they didn’t see the old Daoist.

Lawrence Winters glanced towards the kitchen. The semi-transparent glass door was tightly shut.

She smiled and said, ”Is Grandmaster in the kitchen?”

”Yes, we’ve finished all the preparations, and now we’re letting the elder show his skills,” Gabrielle Winters said with a smile, waving for Lawrence Winters to come over. ”And you? Why did it take you so long?”

Lawrence Winters felt a little guilty and gave an evasive answer, ”I didn’t see any cars on the way, so I drove a little longer.”

”You! Have you been out joyriding again?” Gabrielle Winters shook her head with a smile, ”Alright, go take a shower, then come out for New Year’s Eve dinner.”

Lawrence Winters nodded and hurried back to her room.

Kenneth Osborne also said, ”Aunt Wen, Uncle Zhang, I’ll go freshen up too.”

”Go ahead, go ahead, the new year is finally here.”

...

Lucas Harlow brought Ruby Sheldon and Ryan Sheldon back to the Sheldon Family’s Wells Residence Garden located on the second ring.

Since the Sheldon Family seldom spent the Spring Festival in the country, there were a lot of people today.

Everyone invited came, without exception.

Even those who were not invited were trying all sorts of ways to pull strings, hoping to join the Sheldon’s family feast.

Of course, it was challenging, as guests at the Sheldon family’s New Year’s feast need at least an in-law-level connection, if not a blood relation.

Lucas Harlow bypassed the wall screen and entered the main hall used as a living room. He saw his father, Richard Stetford, already talking to Aiden Sheldon.

His sister, Autumn Stetford, also Aiden Sheldon’s wife, sat gracefully beside them, pouring tea for them now and then.

Ruby Sheldon jumped in, shouting, ”Dad! Mom! Grandpa! I’m back!”

Aiden Sheldon looked up first, smiling and spreading his arms, watching Ruby Sheldon jump into his embrace.

”Good to have you back. Tonight’s New Year’s Eve dinner is a grand feast, a replica of an ancient full banquet with over three hundred dishes, let’s see if there’s anything you like,” Aiden Sheldon said to his daughter in an extremely gentle and caring tone.

Ruby Sheldon nodded, smiled, and said sweetly, ”I know, I mentioned once in the summer that I wanted to try the full Han banquet, and Daddy remembered. Daddy is so good to me!”

”Isn’t that obvious?” Aiden Sheldon tapped her upturned nose, ”Whatever you want, even if it’s the stars in the sky, I can get it for you.”

”Oh, you’ve already bought several asteroids and named them after Betty, what more do you want? Spoiling her like this, you might be causing trouble for your daughter’s future in-laws, hahahaha...” Richard Stetford laughed heartily.

He too doted on Ruby Sheldon, but not to Aiden Sheldon’s extent.

In his eyes, sons were more important.

However, when he noticed Lucas Harlow, he pretended not to see him.

This son was truly more trouble than he was worth raising.

Aiden Sheldon followed with a chuckle and said, ”Only three asteroids. If later they discover larger stars, naming them after our Ruby would really show our love.”

These words made even Autumn Stetford’s mouth twitch.

She quickly beckoned Ruby Sheldon, ”Betty, come with me. I prepared some clothes for you to wear tonight. See if you like them.”

Ruby Sheldon’s eyes lit up, ”New clothes! I love them! I love them!”

She hurried to get up from Aiden Sheldon’s lap and ran to Autumn Stetford.

Autumn Stetford stood up and took her hand, smiling and saying to Richard Stetford and Aiden Sheldon, ”Dad, Aiden, I’ll take Betty inside first. When more people arrive, and everyone is seated, I’ll bring Betty out again.”

Richard Stetford nodded casually. Noticing from the corner of his eye that Lucas Harlow was still obediently sitting in the seat just vacated by Autumn Stetford, next to him, he finally breathed a slight sigh of relief.
