Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 483: Chapter 262: What a Formidable Blade (First Update)

”But what about the child? Didn’t we say the young master was too little last time?” the secretary asked with some concern.

He wasn’t genuinely worried about the child’s health, but rather was intimidated by Winter’s grandmother...

She could really nitpick, finding fault even in the smallest things, blowing trivial matters up to the extent that they could threaten the Spencer Family’s age-long heritage...

Better not provoke her.

Cameron Spencer had gained some understanding of his in-laws and slightly curled his lips, saying, ”Take him, but ensure proper protection. I’ve had a lot of high-altitude radiation suits custom-made for him; once he wears them, he’ll be fine.”

The secretary was reassured, ”Okay, I’ll make the arrangements.”

After saying this, he looked at Cameron Spencer’s face and asked worriedly, ”Is your health alright?”

Cameron Spencer had spent some time at the rehab center and finally kicked his ”cigar addiction.”

So he looked quite haggard.

However, he had a solid constitution, and after some recuperation, he’d be fine.

He nodded, ”Let me rest for another two weeks.”

...

After the New Year, on the eighth day of the lunar month, Lawrence Winters went back to work.

As soon as she entered the office, a notification popped up on her phone showing that someone had deposited a seven-figure sum into her bank account, followed by an email notification.

Lawrence saw that it was Ryan Sheldon’s ”letter of forgiveness.”

It reminded her of some things, so she quickly signed it and sent it back, then looked for Edward Foster and said, ”Young Mr. Foster, I don’t want to be Lucas Harlow’s agent anymore.”

Edward Foster was quite surprised, came out from behind the desk, pointed to the sofa for Lawrence Winters to sit down, then went to make her coffee, asking curiously, ”Why? Didn’t you like him a lot?”

Lawrence sat on the navy-blue leather sofa and said lightly, ”...When I was young and ignorant, I didn’t know his identity and did some outrageous things. Now that I know, of course, I have to make some corrections.”

”His identity? Do you mean the heir to Blue Heavy Industries?” Edward Foster came over with two cups of coffee and placed them on the coffee table in front of the sofa, then sat beside her.

Lawrence turned her head to look at him, with a half-smile, and said, ”Young Mr. Foster, don’t you know Lucas Harlow’s true identity? Or rather, his real name?”

Edward Foster touched his nose and chuckled, ”Real name? You found out?”

”Yes, Evan Stetford,” Lawrence said lightly.

As soon as the name Evan Stetford was mentioned, Edward Foster froze.

He quickly glanced at Lawrence Winters, seeing her expression still fairly calm, without revealing what her real feelings were.

But her tone really didn’t sound like she was happy about it.

Edward Foster awkwardly picked up his coffee and took a sip, saying, ”How did you find out?”

”He told me himself.” Lawrence was expressionless, holding the coffee cup and slowly turning it, not intending to drink.

”He told you...” Edward Foster felt a bit uneasy, silently cursing Lucas Harlow for using any means necessary to woo a woman...

He looked at Lawrence’s lowered neck and cautiously said, ”He doesn’t want others to know his true identity, to avoid any trouble. The Stetford Family is quite influential abroad, not the average business people, more like...people in the underworld. Their family has been the big boss type for several generations overseas.”

Lawrence was slightly startled.

She didn’t know about this and hadn’t thought in that direction.

She quickly looked up at Edward Foster and said, ”Really? The Stetford Family is really famous abroad?”

”You can search it yourself and see.” Edward Foster said awkwardly, ”Their influence is not something measured by money, that’s all I can say.”

But he couldn’t stop there, continuing, ”So with such a complicated family, it’s really not suitable for you.”

Lawrence thought for a while and said, ”Did you know that Lucas Harlow has a sister?”

”You mean Autumn Stetford, the lady boss of the Sheldon Consortium?” Edward Foster quickly said, ”I know, I’ve met her once. She’s quite decent, graceful, and shrewd. It’s said that she used to helm the Sheldon Consortium...”

This time it was Lawrence’s turn to be surprised, ”... The Sheldon Consortium used to be run by the daughter-in-law?”

”Haha... quite peculiar, right?” Edward Foster saw that Lawrence finally wasn’t troubled by Lucas Harlow’s hidden identity anymore and was happy to change the topic, quickly saying, ”I heard it from my parents. Aiden Sheldon, now the helmsman, wasn’t really into business when he was younger, so the old Master Sheldon specifically found him a wife who was good at business.”

”So that’s how it is...” Lawrence laughed, ”Now Aiden likes doing business, and not only likes it but is also ruthless, such a formidable sword!”
