Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 479: Chapter 260: What If I Hadn’t Forced It (Part 2)

Then...

Hazel Winchester closed her eyes, unwilling to recall yesterday’s nightmare.

So much cigar tobacco taken from her room, all stuffed into her mouth.

She refused to swallow, and those people used chopsticks to force it down her throat, causing her unbearable pain...

With lingering fear, Hazel grabbed her throat, coughed hoarsely, shook her head, and continued typing on her phone.

[Hazel Winchester]: ...It’s my fault for angering your dad. I... I... feel sorry for him, so... so... I swallowed his cigar tobacco...

[Summer Spencer]: Mom, stop trying to hide. Do you think I’d believe you? At this moment, you should tell me the truth. What if I make the same mistake as you because I know nothing?

Summer Spencer’s words struck a chord with Hazel.

Originally, she was too scared to speak, but what if her silence led to Summer being manipulated?

Hazel thought and started typing immediately.

[Hazel Winchester]:...Okay, here’s the truth. I recently got some top-quality cigar tobacco for your dad. He smoked it without keeping it away from Winter, causing him to have an asthma attack. Your dad was furious, saying he’d punish me. Out of fear... I swallowed that tobacco in front of him.

Even at this point, Hazel couldn’t bring herself to reveal the entire truth.

After all, it would scare Summer Spencer, and if Summer never dared to approach Cameron Spencer again, wouldn’t her suffering be in vain?

Seeing this, Summer Spencer was both exasperated and amused.

[Summer Spencer]: Mom, what are you doing? It’s totally self-destructive. Dad treasures Winter so much, why did you mess with him?

[Hazel Winchester]: I didn’t mean to mess with him; I just didn’t know your dad smoked in front of such a young child!

At this moment, Hazel didn’t mention Dr. Hu.

Cameron Spencer’s fury wasn’t just about the cigar tobacco; it also involved Dr. Hu.

Because Dr. Hu was introduced by Hazel Winchester...

She didn’t mention her deal with Dr. Hu, but Dr. Hu had already been scared into confessing everything.

Reflecting on her actions, Hazel broke into a cold sweat.

Was she out of her mind?

Why did she think of simultaneously dealing with Cameron Spencer and Winter Spencer?

Even if Cameron Spencer was gone and Winter Spencer was ruined, what place would she have in the Spencer Family or Spencer Group?

Let’s not forget, her daughter Summer Spencer hasn’t even entered Spencer Group yet...

Hazel furiously beat her head, regretting to the point she wished to jump into the sea.

Seeing Hazel like this, Summer Spencer assumed her mother was remorseful and hastened to comfort her on WeChat.

[Summer Spencer]: Mom, okay, it’s all over. You’ve been punished, and Winter’s asthma is reportedly treatable. Let’s leave it at that. I’ll find a chance to apologize to Dad for you. When Dad comes to see you...

Frightened, Hazel responded quickly.

[Hazel Winchester]: You can apologize, but don’t let your dad come to see me. Let me tell you, the more guilty and proper I behave, the more your dad’s anger will dissipate.

She even came up with an idea right away.

[Hazel Winchester]: Summer, help me pack up my things; in a couple of days, I’m going to the monastery where Cousin Ruby is staying to live with her!

[Summer Spencer]: !!! Mom, what are you up to?!

[Hazel Winchester]: It’s all for you; as long as your dad feels guilty, you’ll benefit the most.

Summer Spencer was stunned, amazed at how her mother seemed to have gained clarity after her ”self-destructive” act.

She understood that only by making Cameron Spencer feel guilty towards her mother could she, as his daughter, reap the greatest benefits.

Summer Spencer silently gave Hazel Winchester a thumbs up in her heart.

...

Days later, Hazel Winchester was discharged and immediately sent word to Cameron Spencer, saying she was going to the monastery with Cousin Ruby Rayner to spend the rest of her days praying for little Winter.

Cameron Spencer was originally furious, nearly driven to truly destroy Hazel Winchester.

But seeing the suffering Hazel endured, worse than death, eased his anger slightly.

Now, Hazel voluntarily went to the monastery, and was going to pray for Winter, which cooled his anger considerably.

He sent word back, saying, ”You can go to the monastery, but once you’re there, you can never come back, so make sure before you speak.”

Hazel Winchester thought for a few days, but ultimately decided to go to the monastery with Ruby Rayner.

The night before she planned to leave, Summer Spencer came to stay with her.

The Spencer Family wasn’t lacking in houses, and Summer Spencer never had the habit of sleeping with her mom.

But this time, she unprecedentedly shared the same bed with Hazel Winchester.
