Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 143: Chapter 90: For You, Always a Hug (First Update)

”Well, tomorrow let’s try going to the street office here and ask what’s going on. If they’re not working tomorrow, then we’ll wait until Monday,” Cali suggested to Blake Leaf.

”But on Monday, aren’t you supposed to go back to school?” Blake hesitated, ”If we can’t meet anyone tomorrow, you go back first, and I’ll wait until Monday to return.”

”Have you secured a job?” Cali remembered the department’s job fair, ”You’re in your senior year too.”

”Luckily, the Computer Science Department at Yan University has a strong reputation, I’m not worried about a job,” Blake said uneasily. ”I already have a company that intends to hire me, but I haven’t signed the contract yet.”

”That’s good.” Seeing Blake’s well-arranged plans, Cali nodded decisively, ”If no one is at the street office tomorrow, I’ll go back to school first.”

Having made their plans, they left the Chanel flagship store together.

This place was rather difficult for catching a cab, so they decided to walk to the intersection to hail one.

On the way, Cali couldn’t stop admiring her new bag and said to Blake, ”Abroad, Chanel has sales twice a year, but a 25% discount like this is really rare.”

Blake didn’t have much concept of name-brand bags, only knowing they are truly expensive, and with his annual salary, he’d barely be able to afford Cali’s bag.

So he said nothing, just silently walked to the intersection ahead.

The adorable little child they had seen earlier in the Chanel store and his intriguing ”Uncle Ze” were also standing at the intersection, seemingly waiting for a car.

Soon, a very discreet black SUV pulled up by the roadside.

A tall middle-aged man got out of the car and extended his hand to the little one, ”You little rascal, how did you drag Uncle Ze out with you?”

”Grandpa!” the little one cheered, scrambling onto the middle-aged man, ”Have you finished your work? When can I meet my uncle?!”

”You’re so mischievous, your uncle won’t want to see you,” the middle-aged man teased, crushing the little one’s hopeful dreams, then seeing his pout, lifted him back into the car, settled him in a child seat, and shut the door. He told the young man outside, ”...Take him back to the base, I have other matters.”

The car door’s soundproofing was excellent, preventing the little one inside from hearing their conversation outside.

The young man nodded, ”I called for a car from the base; they’ll be here soon. Don’t you need a car?”

”I’ll use a vehicle from the base; you can take my car back. It drives fast and is very safe.”

The young man chuckled, his hand on the car door, spoke softly again, ”...Ah Sui is growing up, and a ’uncle’ who only sends gifts but never shows up is piquing his curiosity more and more. His sneaking out today was just a pretext to see this ’uncle’.”

The middle-aged man snorted, ”I initially disagreed with this, but Ah Sui’s mother is insistent... She always says if one day her brother regains his memory, reminisces about the past, comes here to see her, he’ll undoubtedly love Ah Sui. So, she wants to continually instill the concept of a ’good uncle’ in Ah Sui, preparing for such a day.”

”...Thinking way ahead.” The young man chuckled, shaking his head, opened the car door and got in, ”Then I’ll be off.”

He waved to the middle-aged man, closed the car door, and soon the vehicle drove away.

After this group left, the car Blake and Cali had called finally arrived.

The two got straight into the car and headed back to the hotel.

...

The next day, Sunday morning, bright and early, Cali accompanied Blake to the entrance of the street office again.

As expected, the gate was shut, indicating no business on weekends, but if urgent, a phone number could be dialed.

Blake’s matter, of course, wasn’t urgent, so he had to wait until Monday.

Cali immediately took out her phone to check plane tickets.

From City C to the Capital City, there were many flights every day.

She looked it up and found a flight around noon with available seats. She quickly booked the ticket, and said to Blake, ”Then I’ll go first. Don’t worry, finding them is good, not finding them is fine too, you’ve grown up well all these years without them, and went to Yan University.”

Blake smiled, raised his hand, tucked a loose strand of Cali’s hair behind her ear, then quickly withdrew his hand, and gently said, ”Okay, I understand, you go ahead.”
