Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 101: Chapter 69: Though Thousands Stand in My Way, I Go Forward (Second Update)

This time picking up someone at the airport turned into such a mess, even the police showed up, they were a bit guilty.

A few male and female police officers came over and asked, ”What happened? Who called the police?”

The crazed fan girl jumped up and raised her hand, saying, ”It was me, it was me!”

The police looked in the direction of her shout and saw two girls who looked like college students.

One was neatly dressed, but her face was flushed, and her eyes were panicked, as if she had been through a major shock.

The other had footprints all over her, which were very obvious on her light gray-pink hoodie, and her medium-length hair was a mess, as if it had been pulled, but she seemed in good spirits, with bright and burning eyes, like she had seen something incredible.

The police officers hadn’t had time to react when the girl in the hoodie, with the bright eyes, suddenly started crying and stumbled through the crowd towards them.

”Officers, you’re finally here! If you hadn’t come, I would’ve been trampled to death by them!” Lawrence Winters sobbed cutely with her delightful peach-like face full of grievance, running towards a female officer as if she saw a family member, ”It was so scary just now! They were intentionally trying to murder me!”

As she spoke, she raised her arm, her finger pointing in the air, precisely at the two masked big-name influencers.

The crazed fan girl came to her senses and quickly backed her up, ”I saw it! I saw it! It was them! I even recorded a video! There’s surveillance here too! We demand to check the surveillance!”

She pointed decisively at the group of fan club leaders and big fans, ”And them! They’re the ones who pushed my classmate down in the crowd and even kicked her! These are the ones who did it themselves! I have a video on my phone of them kicking, which can serve as court evidence!”

Over on the production crew’s side, people’s faces turned pale all of a sudden.

The producer and director gave the managers of the two big-name influencers a menacing glare.

They had noticed these two’s little movements just now, but they really didn’t expect these managers to be so ruthless and clueless.

Originally, fans picking someone up at the airport could turn into big news, something the production side and the artist company would love because it would significantly attract public attention to their new show and allow them to take the opportunity to create some buzz and gain traffic.

But this kind of big news has one major premise: it absolutely can’t cross the legal line.

If things get out of hand, and the influencers become ”legal influencers,” these two artists’ artistic lives would be over.

Not only would it cause a massive loss of fans, but it would also spoil the goodwill of the public, directly ending their career in entertainment.

And now, Lucas Harlow’s two little fans not only chose to call the police but also held onto videos of them causing trouble on their side, clearly prepared, which put them at a significant disadvantage.

The production side quickly consulted with their financial backers, and the two big-name influencers behind them also had capital backing, otherwise how could they have become so famous?

The police were taking statements from Lawrence Winters and the crazed fan girl, while assigning people to monitor the opposing fan club leaders and the big fans they accused.

The two big-name influencers and their managers were also under ”special attention” from the police.

Although they weren’t immediately being invited to the police station for questioning, a field investigation still had to be conducted.

Because the media cameras were still pointed in their direction, the police were wearing law enforcement recorders, and everything was being carried out smoothly within the legal framework.

Lawrence Winters, being slightly more experienced socially than the crazed fan girl, seized the moment to pitifully say to the police, ”Officers, we’re just students; we don’t want to cause trouble. Could you make sure the media delete us from their videos? Of course, the police can use those videos as evidence, but we’re not celebrities, not public figures. The marketing accounts can’t use our image to gain traffic!”

Seeing their student IDs showing they were students from Metropolitan North University, the police were even kinder and immediately said, ”No problem. I’ll go negotiate with them.”

A female officer walked over to the media and politely said, ”The victims filing the report request you delete the videos related to them; please cooperate with our work.”

These media and marketing accounts that often stir things up online didn’t dare act rashly in the face of the police and the public.

Each obediently showed the police the video footage they had just shot, allowing them to delete videos related to Lawrence Winters and the crazed fan girl.

However, the police also kept a copy as evidence.

The videos shot by these people were much clearer than the ones on the crazed fan girl’s phone.

Now, without further investigation needed, the fan club leaders and big fans who kicked Lawrence Winters were quickly taken away in police cars for further investigation at the police station.

As for the side of the big-name influencers, the two managers stepped forward to take the blame and managed to extricate the two top-tier influencers.

But given the fierce competition they faced in the entertainment industry, now such a big incident had occurred, with their fan club leaders, big fans, and managers all taken by the police, how could they remain unscathed?

Some marketing accounts had already started approaching their rivals to sell exclusive stories.

So even before they left the airport, negative news about them was already spreading everywhere, quickly climbing the trending charts, pulling the name ”Lucas Harlow” along for the ride.

Lucas Harlow’s little assistant never imagined his Brother Lucas would become famous in this manner.

He was on the car browsing Weibo on his phone, almost moved to tears, ”Brother Lucas, wasn’t I right? Look, your Weibo followers are increasing at a geometric rate, and finally, there are more than two fans in the super topic!”

Lucas Harlow: ”...”

Not feeling very honored.

...

There at the airport, when Kenneth Osborne and Joyce Shaw arrived, Lawrence Winters and the crazed fan girl were about to get into a police car, being taken to the hospital for a medical examination, and then to the police station to complete the report procedures.

Kenneth Osborne’s heart sank, he rushed over and seriously said to the female officer who was holding Lawrence Winters’ arm into the police car, ”Excuse me, what’s she charged with? I’m her brother! I’ll find a lawyer right away, don’t you lay a hand on her!”

He then comforted Lawrence Winters, ”Nora, don’t be afraid, don’t say a word, I’ll get you the best lawyer immediately! And I’ll notify your mom and uncle right away.”

”No! Absolutely not!” At the mention of involving her uncle and mom, Lawrence Winters, who was scheming mischievously just now, suddenly lost all her cool, turning pale in fright.
