Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 129: Chapter 84: Talking About Feelings Hurts the Wallet (Third Update)

Sure enough, aside from Lawrence Winters who was frowning and glaring at Kenneth Osborne, everyone else in the private room spontaneously burst into a knowing laugh.

Lawrence quickly glanced around at everyone and thought sulkily, the world is no longer what it was... people’s hearts have changed...

Joyce Shaw laughed heartily and said honestly, ”No driving, how could you drive at school? Even if you wanted to, there’s no place for it!”

The Crazy Girl blushed with shyness but didn’t act coyly. She just gave Joyce a playful glance and served him a spoonful of steamed egg custard, ”Eat well. Can’t this shut your mouth?”

Blake Leaf rarely smiled as well.

Joyce picked up a bottle of local Erguotou and filled the glasses for Kenneth and Blake.

They were using those tiny cups that hold just one shot, which pack a punch when you drink.

But because there were girls present, they didn’t drink much.

Each drank two shots, then switched to corn juice.

The Crazy Girl thoughtfully went out to call someone to make sobering soup and sent it in.

She served Joyce a bowl.

The Three Billion Sister quietly served Blake a bowl.

Only Lawrence Winters remained motionless, carefully eating the long fish in garlic sauce on her own.

That stuff could easily make a mess, so she was very careful and didn’t even glance at Kenneth Osborne.

Kenneth Osborne served himself a bowl, stirred it with a spoon, but didn’t feel like drinking it at all.

The Three Billion Sister noticed this and casually changed the topic, saying to Lawrence, ”Lawrence, can I ask you for a favor?”

Lawrence quickly wiped her hands with a napkin and exclaimed in surprise, ”The Three Billion Sister is asking me for a favor? That’s a first! Let me hear what it is!”

The Three Billion Sister forced a smile and looked at Blake Leaf, ”...It’s not about me, it’s about Blake Leaf.”

Lawrence raised her brows slightly and looked at Blake, who was sitting between the Three Billion Sister and the Crazy Girl.

Blake, having no other choice and not wanting to waste the Three Billion Sister’s good intentions, hung his head slightly, rubbing the glass of corn juice in his hand for a while before gathering the courage to say, ”About my family’s situation, the Three Billion Sister should have told you.”

Lawrence looked around the table; everyone seemed to understand, so she didn’t say anything.

Indeed, she had asked the Three Billion Sister earlier, and she did tell her.

Blake continued, ”But there’s one more thing.”

He raised his head to look at Lawrence.

Lawrence smiled and looked at him. Her small, peach-like face wore a gentle smile, very approachable.

Blake felt a bit more at ease and continued, ”I discovered in high school that my parents weren’t my biological parents.”

”Huh?!” The Crazy Girl was the first to react, exclaiming in shock, ”...Not biological parents?!”

Encountering such a melodramatic situation in life...

Just thinking about it is a bit exciting.

Blake nodded, his face expressionless, ”Their blood types are both O, and I’m AB.”

”I started to suspect, and later earned some money working outside, so I went for a DNA test.”

When Blake mentioned the ”DNA” test, Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne’s expressions became a bit subtle.

She couldn’t help but glance at Kenneth.

Kenneth was also looking at her, but mouthed, ”Pay up.”

Lawrence felt deflated and ignored him, thinking she’d transfer the money to Kenneth when she got back.

She really couldn’t stand him using ”pay up” to threaten her anymore.

Though she admittedly loves money a lot and did often borrow from Kenneth in her younger and foolish days...

That’s truly a dark Chapter in her history.

Lawrence decided she would personally end this dark Chapter of her history.

Having figured this out, she didn’t feel bad anymore and focused her attention on Blake Leaf, curiously asking, ”Do your current parents know that you found out they’re not your biological parents?”

Blake nodded, ”I finally confronted them during the New Year and asked if they knew who my biological parents were.”

”What did they say?”

”They said they didn’t know.”

He then repeated what he had told the Three Billion Sister earlier.

”That’s it. Since I was left at their door and there were no clues in my swaddling, they genuinely don’t know.”

”I’ve been asking people locally to look into events from over twenty years ago, but there are so few clues that I don’t even know where to start.”

Blake sighed and looked at Lawrence, ”I heard from the Three Billion Sister that you can tell fortunes, so I wanted to ask for your help to see if you could do a reading and find any clues about my biological parents.”

Lawrence was slightly stunned.

She didn’t really want to establish a reputation for being a ”Little Heavenly Master” at school and had hinted as much to the Crazy Girl and the Three Billion Sister.
