Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 134: Chapter 85: Be a Good Little Liar

Without him having to speak, the three-billion sister immediately took out her phone and called her father.

After the call ended, the three-billion sister calmly said, ”My dad will check the local household registration migration records from over twenty years ago for you tomorrow.”

Blake Leaf let out a long breath, stood up and bowed to everyone in the room, sincerely saying, ”Thank you all. Even if today’s deductions don’t pan out, I’m still grateful to you.”

In these three years of searching for his relatives, he had always relied on himself, and the pervasive loneliness almost warped his personality.

Fortunately, he encountered a benefactor in life.

Blake Leaf bowed specifically to Lawrence Winters, earnestly saying, ”I don’t have much money right now, but I’ll definitely earn a lot of money in the future. Consider this as me owing you today, and I’ll repay you doubly in the future.”

Lawrence Winters quickly waved his hands and said, ”No need, no need! You’ve already shown your sincerity. Our karma is clear; you don’t need to give me money, it would actually be disadvantageous to me, really.”

”Really?” Blake Leaf was half doubtful, looking to Kenneth Osborne for confirmation.

Kenneth Osborne nodded, ”That’s how it is, one thing offsets another. If you have other matters, then that’s a different case.”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Who would have thought Kenneth Osborne is also quite a business expert.

In just a few minutes, he had already booked future business for her...

No wonder her uncle said that with someone like Kenneth Osborne, you can only either befriend him or stay away from him; you should never cross him.

With this thought, she decided that once she got back to the dorm, she would take out her savings to repay the debt.

After Blake Leaf left the private room, everyone continued joking and chatting for a while.

The wild girl became even more interested in Lawrence Winters and kept asking her to read her and Joyce Shaw’s fortune.

Lawrence Winters shook her head to refuse, ”First, I’ve already done a reading today. With my skills, I’m most accurate doing a reading once a week. If I do more, it truly isn’t accurate.”

”Also, you need to really have something going on to request a reading. Otherwise, it can have bad effects.” Lawrence Winters saw the wild girl’s curiosity and promptly reminded her of some precautions.

The wild girl still wanted to say something, but Joyce Shaw quickly stopped her, ”Alright, we’re so happy now, what else are you dissatisfied with?”

After some persuasion, they finally managed to calm the wild girl down.

The five of them settled the bill and left the Heart Restaurant together.

Lawrence Winters returned to her dormitory, first organizing her savings, then with some pain transferred nearly fifty thousand to Kenneth Osborne.

She really hadn’t expected that she had borrowed so much money from Kenneth Osborne before...

She then thought about how Kenneth Osborne’s parents really pampered him.

They didn’t earn much themselves, but from childhood to adulthood, Kenneth Osborne never lacked money.

This fortune destiny, truly admirable.

Lawrence Winters was filled with resentment; transferring the money felt like cutting her own flesh.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she transferred it, Kenneth Osborne returned it all to her.

What’s the point of this?

Forcing her to owe money?

Lawrence Winters got frustrated and wanted to transfer it back to Kenneth Osborne.

But she found out that in just a second, she had been blocked by Kenneth Osborne!

Can you believe it?!

Lawrence Winters got so mad she almost threw her phone, deciding then and there to completely break off with Kenneth Osborne!

They would never be good friends again!

She angrily held her phone and decided to transfer all the money the three-billion sister sent her to Blake Leaf’s campus card.

The campus card can be used at school, including the cafeteria and shops, and even the faculty to pay tuition bills.

This type of recharged campus card cannot be refunded and can be recharged anonymously.

By the time Blake Leaf discovered the extra money on his campus card, several days had already passed.

And he didn’t have time to investigate who had recharged it for him because the three-billion sister’s father called him, telling him that it seemed like they had indeed found a woman in the migration records of household registration from over twenty years ago in Y City. Her age and destination matched what he had said.

”Really?! She really migrated from Y City to C City?!” Blake Leaf was extremely excited, ”She still has relatives in Y City, right?!—Her mom, brother, and sister are still in Y City?! Name and address too? Are they all found?!”

Blake Leaf was so delighted his vision went black, he quickly steadied himself using the chair backstrap.

His heart was beating so fast he almost couldn’t breathe.

After a while, he calmed down and continued, ”Thanks so much, Uncle Xi! I’m going home right away! I can’t wait any longer!”

The three-billion sister’s father originally wanted to advise him to wait until the holidays to go home, since the entire family was in Y City and wouldn’t move away; what was the rush...

But when Blake Leaf said, ”I’ll ask Zhuang Bi and see if she wants to go back for a trip too.”

Zhuang Bi is the three-billion sister’s name.

Her father immediately said, ”Great, great! Let me know the time after you book the tickets, I’ll pick you up at the airport!”

Blake Leaf hung up the phone and immediately called the three-billion sister.

The three-billion sister was already interning at a company.

This was her first week of internship, completely different from her previous fantasies.

She had been there for five days, and every day was spent in copying documents, making coffee, and running around notifying meetings.

Upon receiving Blake Leaf’s call, she agreed without further ado, ”Sure, we’ll go back this weekend to unwind.”

...

Returning from the internship company to the dormitory, it was already seven in the evening.

The three-billion sister had no appetite at all, went to the bathroom to get a bucket of hot water, and started soaking her feet and calves.

Lawrence Winters, holding a cup of warm milk, turned to her, asking in surprise, ”Three-billion sister, what kind of work are you doing during the internship? How come you’re already working overtime in the first week, seeing you look so worn out...”

The three-billion sister gritted her teeth and said, ”What a lousy company! I’m quitting next week!”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

”Is it really exhausting?” Lawrence Winters hadn’t worked at an external company and couldn’t imagine what it was like.

The only work she had done was feng shui reading with her uncle outside.

As the boss, her uncle Nick Zeller was quite good apart from being a bit stingy and demanding high commissions, taking good care of her.

So she really didn’t have much to complain about.

The three-billion sister was just venting; she had never complained to anyone about specifics in her internship.

Therefore, Lawrence Winters could only change the topic and ask her, ”The class monitor came to collect resumes today, asking us to fill out our post-graduation plans.”

The three-billion sister opened the class group chat, asked the class monitor, confirmed it, and sent her resume to the class monitor.

The class monitor tagged everyone in the group chat and said, ”Everyone prepare well this weekend, there will be over twenty companies coming to our department for a job fair next Monday, go for it!”

Lawrence Winters hadn’t decided what to do after graduation.

Should she continue to follow her uncle and read feng shui, or should she work at those companies for a few years to broaden her horizons?

She couldn’t make up her mind.

She used to seek opinions from Kenneth Osborne, but now, Kenneth Osborne had blocked her, and she hadn’t seen or talked to Kenneth Osborne for a week.
