Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 130: Chapter 84: Talking About Feelings Hurts the Wallet (Third Update)

They are still trustworthy, even now.

Lawrence Winters looked at Sister Three Billion meaningfully.

Sister Three Billion braced herself, forcing a smile, ”Lawrence, let’s just say I owe you a favor.”

Lawrence Winters smiled inscrutably, ”Sister Three Billion, let’s discuss this later. For now, let’s solve Blake Leaf’s issue.”

She turned to him and said, ”Can you recount your experience of being left at the door as a child?”

Blake Leaf was puzzled, ”Didn’t I just say it? Besides, it’s all what my adoptive parents said. They... have physical disabilities, so what they say can’t be entirely trusted.”

”Are you saying they lied?” Lawrence Winters asked pointedly.

Blake Leaf shook his head, smiling bitterly, ”No, I believe they didn’t lie. It’s just that with one being deaf and the other blind, you see, it was night time...”

Lawrence Winters suddenly interrupted him, ”If one couldn’t hear and the other couldn’t see, how did they know there was a baby at the door?”

”Someone knocked on the door.” Obviously, Blake Leaf had already questioned this situation.

”Then we can rule out the possibility of human trafficking. Because traffickers obviously want to make money. You were a healthy male infant over twenty years ago, you would definitely be valuable.”

”If there was no demand for money, then traffickers are ruled out.”

Lawrence Winters analyzed, tapping her fingers rhythmically on the dining table, the sound hypnotic, making Sister Crazy dizzy.

Joyce Shaw let her lean against his chest, listening to Lawrence Winters’ interrogation together.

Lawrence Winters thought for a while, as if hesitating, and after a moment, still said, ”Actually, I want to ask you, why do you need to find your biological parents?”

Blake Leaf: ”...”

”Do you know, the grace of upbringing surpasses the grace of birth.” Lawrence Winters continued speaking, noticing Blake Leaf’s expression gradually shifting, but she did not flinch, pressing on, ”Let’s first think of the worst scenario, where Blake Leaf, you weren’t trafficked but abandoned by your own parents.”

Blake Leaf’s heart pounded, he jumped up furiously, shouting at Lawrence Winters, ”You’re talking nonsense! My biological parents couldn’t have abandoned me!”

No one understood his feelings.

Growing up under the care of a pair of disabled parents at the bottom of society, he suffered too much disdain and humiliation over the years.

Therefore, when he discovered his biological parents might be different, he was truly overjoyed, even ecstatic.

Although he hadn’t found any clues, his mindset had long altered, he could finally stop feeling inferior.

But now Lawrence Winters tells him he might have been abandoned by his biological parents.

This possibility, which he had scarcely considered, was highly plausible and shattered his rationality.

His eyes reddened, nearly lifting his small stool to throw at Lawrence Winters!

Kenneth Osborne quickly stood up, crossing over in one step, grabbing Blake Leaf’s raised arm, snatching the stool from his hands, and pressing his shoulder down, saying firmly, ”Sit down.”

Blake Leaf was nearly as tall as Kenneth Osborne, but much thinner, and clearly not as strong.

Kenneth Osborne exerted force, pinning Blake Leaf directly into the seat, unable to stand up.

Sister Three Billion was somewhat flustered, loudly saying, ”Blake Leaf! Don’t be foolish! Lawrence is helping you!”

Blake Leaf’s heavy breathing echoed in the room, waking Sister Crazy from fright, looking at the room anxiously.

Joyce Shaw held her tightly in his arms.

”What’s going on? What happened?”

”It’s nothing.” Joyce Shaw reassured her gently, patting her back, ”Just a few words of dispute, once cleared, it’ll be fine.”

Joyce Shaw’s words gave Blake Leaf an out, but he showed no signs of apology.

Lawrence Winters didn’t mind, she had seen such people before while wind-divining with her uncle.

For those refusing to face reality, the best approach is to jolt them awake.

Lawrence Winters instinctively hid behind Kenneth Osborne, saying to Blake Leaf, ”Don’t get worked up, listen to me first. I’m just making a logical analysis. If after hearing my analysis, you still want to find your biological parents, I’ll help divine your fortune.”

She paused, reluctantly adding, ”In deference to Sister Three Billion, I’ll give you a 20% discount.”

Sister Three Billion and Sister Crazy were both shocked, ”You still want to charge?”

Lawrence Winters didn’t get a chance to speak before Kenneth Osborne explained for her, ”Divination isn’t done for free. Not doing it for free is ineffective, bad for both sides, so if you don’t want to pay, Nora won’t divine for you.”

Lawrence Winters swallowed the words about to spill.

Actually, the main reason they don’t do this kind of work for free isn’t primarily because of effectiveness, but to avoid the five hardships and three deficiencies.

Though Kenneth Osborne’s explanation was reasonable.

Blake Leaf was silent for some time, then asked Lawrence Winters, ”How much do you want?”

Lawrence Winters peeked out from behind Kenneth Osborne, smiling, ”Speaking directly about money hurts relationships. How about this, after the reading, you send me a red envelope with any amount you choose.”

Blake Leaf nodded.

At that moment, Lawrence Winters caught a glimpse of a message on her phone out of the corner of her eye.

She checked it, and it was from Sister Three Billion.

She transferred 1000 yuan to her via WeChat.

Well, such generosity.

Lawrence Winters smiled, giving Sister Three Billion a glance.

She actually expected five hundred.

But Sister Three Billion giving a thousand was something she graciously accepted.

Lawrence Winters made an OK gesture towards her, turning to Blake Leaf, ”I hadn’t finished speaking earlier, your situation has many possibilities.”

”But everything revolves around your immediate relatives.”

”So you must be prepared mentally to accept it regardless if it’s good or bad.”

”Also, you can’t neglect your adoptive parents upon finding your biological ones.”

Blake Leaf’s emotions gradually returned to normal, nodding heavily, his voice choked, ”I never thought of neglecting them. I just... really want to know, unrelated, how did I become their child?”
