Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 103: Chapter 71: Big News (First Update)

Kenneth Osborne and his partner started a company. Their shares weren’t split evenly; Kenneth got 60%, while Joyce Shaw received 40%.

This was because Kenneth was the main force behind the software, while Joyce mostly handled testing, outreach, and after-sales service. He also wrote some programs in less critical areas.

Joyce initially only wanted 30%, but Kenneth still convinced him to take 40%.

Kenneth patted his shoulder, ”Your parents are gone, it’s time to make a home for yourself.”

”Yeah.” Joyce blushed a little and nodded, ”I’m set on Nora. I plan to propose first, and then marry after she graduates. After marriage, she can continue to work if she wants, or stay home and do what she likes. I can support her.”

”I also want to bring my grandma to live with us. Every day after work, I’d have her and my grandma, and later on, two cute little kids.” Kenneth poured himself a glass of water, holding it in his hand, ”It’s not about whether you can support her. A student from Yanda becoming a housewife right after graduating—you might be willing, but have you considered whether she or her parents would be willing?”

Joyce hadn’t thought about it that far.

His parents passed away when he was in elementary school, leaving him an insurance compensation.

His grandma raised him.

Kenneth knew he desperately wanted a home of his own.

But forming a home is not an individual matter; you have to find someone who shares your values to form a happy family.

Joyce scratched his head, chuckled, ”I know, I won’t force Nora to do anything or not do anything, but I want her to know I’m serious, not just playing around with her.”

”...Why would you think that?” Kenneth raised an eyebrow, ”Did someone talk gossip to Nora?”

”No need for others to say.” Joyce sat back at his desk, shrugged, ”It’s graduation season for us. College couples graduate and break up. Relationships in senior year or the third year of a master’s are all said to be temporary flings.”

Pfft—!

Kenneth really spat out a mouthful of water.

”...You haven’t already with Nora...” He looked at him dangerously, ”If you have, I need to keep Nora away from her, so she doesn’t get led astray.”

”What are you talking about? Of course I haven’t.” Joyce’s face turned red, even his ears were red, ”I’m talking about other people’s situations, me and Nora... we’re not that fast. -- We’ve only hugged...”

His voice got smaller and smaller.

Kenneth sneered, ”Just hugged and already thinking about marriage and kids, Joyce, looks like the impatient one isn’t me, but you.”

”Haha, we can’t compare like that.” Joyce checked his emails one last time before asking Kenneth, ”How about you? What are your thoughts about life after graduation?”

Kenneth was silent, following Joyce’s train of thought, but he could only think of how mischievous Lawrence Winters was as a child.

If he had a daughter like her, it might not be bad...

A trace of tenderness floated in Kenneth’s refined eyes.

Then he would definitely educate her well, to ensure she wouldn’t be as naughty as her mother was as a child.

Seeing Kenneth not speaking, Joyce nudged him, ”Your thoughts? Care to share?”

Kenneth smoothly changed the subject, ”I don’t think as far ahead as you do; I was just thinking whether to rest a while after finishing this big project or immediately take on new work.”

Joyce immediately groaned, ”Let’s rest for a while! I’ve been staying up late for so long... besides...” He sneaked a glance at Kenneth, then whispered, ”I need time to spend more with Nora...”

After saying that, he ran into the bathroom like a thief, saying, ”I need to take a shower and sleep! I’m exhausted today!”

Kenneth disdainfully looked away, picked up his phone, and sent Lawrence Winters a message.

Lawrence hadn’t replied at all.

She was probably asleep.

Kenneth opened Weibo and found the super thread Lawrence had created for Lucas Harlow.

In less than two hours, Lucas’s super thread already had over a thousand people.

Many were thanking the station master ”Lawrence’s Promise” for finding them such a ”treasure boy.”

[Your Eyes Have Stardust]: Watched so many of Lucas’s shows, yet didn’t think to create a super thread for him, that’s my mistake. Thank you ’Lawrence’s Promise,’ for discovering so many good video edits of Lucas for us!

[I Love Pizza]: Exactly, Lucas has been in the industry for six years, his acting is superb! Ilan fans might be late, but they’ll never be absent!

...

Even Lucas Harlow’s assistant parachuted into the super thread to warmly thank everyone, especially thanking the creator of the super thread, ”Lawrence’s Promise.”
