Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 95: Chapter 66: As If Blessed by the Gods (Part 4)

Lawrence Winters laughed, ”Alright, I’ll go. I don’t have much to do this afternoon anyway.”

”What could you have to do?” Mad Girl patted her shoulder, ”I know you’ve finished your thesis and handed it in, just waiting for your advisor to review it and set the defense date.”

Lawrence Winters nodded, widening her eyes, making a candid innocent face: ”Yeah, didn’t you know the waiting is the hardest part?”

”Bah!” Mad Girl sneered at her, ”You’re suffering? You’re so bored, you’re growing moss!”

”Look at you, creating a super chat for an eighteen-line minor celebrity, Lucas Harlow, checking in daily and posting all kinds of topics. You’re even more active than in the Mason and Graham super chat.” Mad Girl directly pulled out her phone, opened Weibo, and found the #LucasHarlowSuperChat# that Lawrence made her join.

Seeing the topic host: Lawrence Gold.

Mad Girl was silent for a while and then said wistfully, ”Well, Lawrence sister, we haven’t seen each other for a few days and you’ve become a super chat admin and a major fan for Lucas Harlow!”

Looking at Lawrence Winters’ meticulous collection of everything Lucas Harlow has done since entering the industry, the essence of the films he’s filmed, Mad Girl’s eye twitched slightly, ”Don’t tell me you’ve started making videos for Lucas Harlow yourself?”

Lawrence Winters smiled guiltily and playfully said, ”I just feel sorry for him... His acting is quite good and he looks handsome, but after filming so many movies, there’s unbelievably no splash online. It really breaks your heart to see it.”

”What major fan? His super chat only has the two of us!” Lawrence Winters said with growing confidence, walking step by step towards Mad Girl, ”You promised to check in every day, and now? You only sent an emoji the first day!”

Mad Girl laughed loudly, ”I forgot, duck!”

”What you forget, don’t forget duck!” Lawrence Winters enunciated the ”duck” heavily, disapprovingly poking Mad Girl’s forehead, ”Alright, today I’ll go with you to watch your boyfriend play basketball, tomorrow you come with me to meet Lucas Harlow at the airport, how’s that?”

”What the hell!” Mad Girl was astonished, ”How do you know Lucas Harlow’s flight number? Are you really chasing celebs?”

”Of course!” Lawrence Winters patted Mad Girl’s shoulder, ”Since you say I’m a major fan, I definitely can’t let you down!”

”Whatever other major fans and super chat admins do, I’ll do for Brother Lucas too!”

Three Billion Sister was kept awake by the noise, turned over and said wistfully, ”Even calling him Brother now, even if Lucas Harlow has only Lawrence Sister as a fan, he must stick it out in the entertainment industry. Otherwise, he won’t honor our wonderful Lawrence Sister, then he’ll never get famous.”

”Lucas Harlow has been out for six years and still like a little nobody, don’t dream he’ll ever be a superstar.” Lawrence Winters shrugged indifferently, ”I’m not his career fan, I’m his... mommy fan! As long as I see my little guy happy, dressing nicely every day, it’s enough!”

Pfft—!

Three Billion Sister and Mad Girl burst into laughter together.

...

At four in the afternoon, the basketball game between the Computer Science Department and Public Relations started.

Mad Girl pulled Lawrence Winters to the sports stadium early to save a spot.

The indoor basketball court at Yan University is Olympic-level, very magnificent and glorious, it has actually hosted a certain Olympic basketball game before.

Although Lawrence Winters wasn’t very interested in basketball, once at the scene, she was swept up by the atmosphere, quickly joining the screaming crowd.

Mad Girl handed her a small horn that everyone had, and she immediately grabbed it and started yelling, ”Go Public Relations! Go Computer Science!”

The surrounding students turned to look, some even angrily asked, ”...Which side are you on?!”

”I’m with Public Relations, but my friend’s with Computer Science, can’t I cheer for both sides?”

Lawrence Winters spiritedly yelled back with her horn.

The guy saw a cute peach-face girl and was too flustered to speak.

Lawrence Winters giggled and turned her gaze back to the basketball court.

Then the basketball players from both sides started to come on stage.

The lights dimmed, leaving only the center of the court lit up.

Everyone saw the Computer Science lineup clearly and collectively went silent for a second, before a thunderous sound of small horns erupted in the stadium.

”Go Kenneth the Scholar!”

”Go Kenneth the Scholar!”

”Go Kenneth the Scholar!”

There were even girls who took out glow sticks with Kenneth Osborne’s name on them, waving them around like at a fan event.

Lawrence Winters paused for a while, seeing everyone call Kenneth the Scholar, she quickly joined in.

The guy who quipped at her earlier sighed, sourly saying to the classmate next to him, ”...I misunderstood that freshman girl. It’d be better if she just cheered for Public Relations and Computer Science...”

Kenneth Osborne himself was low-key, but his identity as the enemy of all male students in the school was imprinted on the countless hearts of Yan University male students, forever inescapable.

Lawrence Winters’ spot was saved for her by Mad Girl, in a very good location, right by the court, close enough to watch the players play.

Most guys playing basketball are tall with long legs, if their features are decent, they’re definitely handsome.

But if they’re inherently a handsome guy, the boost from wearing a basketball uniform is incredibly impressive.

Even someone like Lawrence Winters, who’s accustomed to seeing all sorts of Kenneth Osborne’s ”beautiful looks,” was captivated.

The Computer Science basketball uniform was black with gold trimming, an unconventional color scheme.

Generally, guys wearing it look tacky and rural.

But Kenneth Osborne in it was like an emperor ruling, exceedingly imposing.

He’s tall, with long, strong, and well-toned legs, lacking the frailty typical of guys with overly beautiful faces, and instead is full of sunshine energy.

The whistle blew, his figure moved swiftly around the court, stretching his long arms, with movements so quick it was dizzying, rapidly snatching the ball from a Public Relations guy and taking quick dribbled steps before soaring into the air to fiercely slam it into the basket.

”Three-pointer!” The court immediately roared.

Not only the girls, but even the guys cheering for Computer Science ecstatically blew their horns.

The lively noise almost lifted the entire stadium.

Lawrence Winters was shouting so much her voice was breaking.

She didn’t know if Kenneth Osborne could see her.

But she firmly believed, after her cracking shout of ”Brother Kenneth,” Kenneth Osborne seemed divinely inspired.

Landing several three-pointers, skillfully dribbling, dunking, navigated the court with ease, making it look like a personal exhibition match!

Throughout the game scoring 41 points, grabbing 18 rebounds and making 8 blocks, not only did he lead Computer Science to a big win but also demoralized the Public Relations basketball team!
