Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 76: Chapter 57: Even the Top Student Cheats (First Update, Please Vote for Monthly Ticket)

The ministers were even more surprised, ”Why would they specifically give our department two spots this year?! I heard their PR department usually only recruits fresh graduates returning from abroad!”

A girl familiar with Molly Zimmerman smiled and said, ”What’s the big deal? This year, the Spencer Group specifically came to our department to recruit, all thanks to our new president.”

”You don’t know, do you? Our new president not only looks great and is in good shape, but also comes from a very good family. Although she’s not originally from the Capital City, Molly’s family has already bought her a house there.”

”Also, a certain powerful figure within the Spencer Group is a relative of our president!”

Molly Zimmerman chuckled lightly, ”...That’s too exaggerated, I’m not that great.”

Upon hearing this, all the members of the PR student council at Yanda were in awe of Molly Zimmerman, obeying her every command, eager to show their loyalty like little minions.

Molly’s family is in business, has some influence in the provincial capital, and indeed is the wealthiest in the Central South Province, with real familial ties to the Spencer Family.

But her family is also very low-key. If it weren’t for her persuading her aunt for help this time, these matters wouldn’t have been revealed.

She waved her hand with a smile, generously saying, ”Alright, let’s stop talking about this. I’m just an ordinary student, hoping to help our department do a good job with this year’s graduate recruitment, and not let everyone down.”

”I’m the president, so I should fulfill my responsibilities as such, it’s only right.”

The student council ministers praised her enthusiastically.

After listening to everyone, Molly said, ”Then, have someone coordinate with those companies, give them a few time options. We’re only giving them one chance to hold a recruitment fair, missing this opportunity means it’s lost.”

As the president, she set the work goals, but how to achieve them depended on the ministers below her.

Moreover, she had already secured the powerful Spencer Group for the department, so she could now step back.

After the meeting, Molly packed her backpack and left the department’s student council meeting room.

While going downstairs, she habitually took out her phone for a look.

During the meeting, she had asked everyone to put their phones on silent and place them in their backpacks, so of course, she led by example.

Upon taking it out now, she realized she missed several messages.

Seeing the photos her friend Claire Harris sent, Molly fell silent.

In the photos were Kenneth Osborne and Lawrence Winters, both faces and backs shown.

Claire also messaged saying: [They went to watch a movie... Molly, Kenneth is your boyfriend, right? Are you just going to watch your roommate steal him away?!].

Molly pursed her lips and messaged back: [Lawrence is also Kenneth’s fellow from back home and my roommate, they’re friends. It’s no big deal to watch a movie together].

Just after sending this, Claire called, scolding her exasperatedly, ”Molly! You’re just too kind! Is there such a thing as true friendship between men and women?! Besides, Kenneth sneaking out with your roommate while you’re in a meeting makes him a downright player!”

Molly sighed deeply and said with a bitter smile, ”Kenneth isn’t like that, I know him well. It’s just that I’ve been too busy recently to spend much time with him.”

”When Kenneth comes looking for me, I’m often not around. Lawrence just started classes this year and doesn’t really know other classmates, so naturally, he’d stick with his fellow folks. I understand.”

”What?!” Claire gasped, ”So Kenneth was looking for you? And Lawrence Winters, that sly thing, intercepted him?! Wow! Is that even possible?! Molly, if I were you, I’d tear her face off! How could she do such a thing?!”

”Claire, don’t speak so harshly. Really, there’s nothing between them, I know it. I’ve known Kenneth for years, and we’ve always been very stable.” Molly said tactfully, ”I can’t chat anymore, there’s so much I need to do. The Spencer Group is specifically coming to our department this year for special recruitment, I need to write the ad copy to help them kick it off!”

”What?! The Spencer Group? The real estate giant Spencer Group?!” Claire was both shocked and delighted.

She’s in PR too, and getting a job at Spencer Group right out of college would really benefit her career.

Molly knew what she meant, nodding with a smile as she walked downstairs, saying, ”Yeah, just be sure to arrive early then, I know their company’s HR, I’ll hand in your resume directly.”

”Definitely, definitely! Oh Molly, you’re amazing! A great person like you deserves the best man in the world!” Claire said, practically wanting to kiss Molly through the phone.

After hanging up, Claire paced around the dorm room several times, deciding to stand up for Molly.

Lawrence Winters was also a girl in their year, someone Claire heard of but didn’t know, practically unfamiliar.

For the first three and a half years, she didn’t attend classes, reportedly due to illness, taking long-term medical leave for recuperation elsewhere.

Only showing up for end-of-term exams each semester.

Yet, her grades were exceptional, consistently topping the department.

If Lawrence hadn’t decided against pursuing graduate studies, the guaranteed spot wouldn’t have gone to someone else.

Claire thought to herself, feeling increasingly disdainful of Lawrence Winters.

So what if she’s a top student?

Does being a top student give her the right to steal her roommate’s person? To snatch her roommate’s boyfriend?

And she should look at herself being that chubby, can’t even compare to a finger of Molly’s, much less worthy of being with Kenneth!
