Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 91: Chapter 65: Finding a Backer (Third Update)

But after walking a few steps, she turned back and said, seemingly unintentionally, ”I heard that your family member asked you to reserve two spots for them?”

Summer Spencer stood up warily.

Even such trivial matters could be known by Spring Spencer.

This sister’s control over the company was indeed beyond her expectations.

Summer Spencer’s expression remained unchanged. She smiled and said, ”Is that so? I’ll check my notes.”

Spring Spencer gave her a charming smile, ”Dear sister, you’re younger than me by a year, so how come your memory is so poor? With someone like you leading the company’s PR and HR departments, tsk tsk...”

She didn’t finish her sentence and turned away to leave.

Summer Spencer was left choking on her words, nearly fainting with anger.

Holding onto the dining table to steady herself, she took a few deep breaths, just about to mutter a complaint, when an elderly man in a gray Tang suit sat across from her.

Summer Spencer immediately raised a smile and said, ”Dad, you’re here for breakfast too?”

This elderly man was Cameron Spencer.

Over a month ago, he took his eldest daughter to River City in Central South Province for the National Rich List Awards, but something happened on the way. Since returning, he had been recuperating in the Capital City.

He looked at Summer Spencer, his face expressionless, and said, ”The recruitment at Yanda University this year needs to be done properly. A company’s growth requires a constant inflow of fresh blood, a steady supply of talent.”

”Yanda is one of the top universities in our country, and their student quality is guaranteed. Don’t use it as a bargaining chip for backdoor deals.”

Cameron Spencer’s remarks clearly indicated he heard the earlier confrontation between Summer and Spring Spencer.

Summer Spencer felt her face burn with embarrassment and quickly said, ”Dad, I understand. My cousin asked me to reserve two spots for them because the PR department at Yanda ranks first nationwide. Recruiting from there is a win-win.”

”Oh, is that so? That’s fine then.” Cameron Spencer nodded.

He was not a stickler for rigid rules.

Offering some benefits among relatives, in his eyes, was proper; if you can help, you help—there’s no need to be too strict.

Only after receiving her father’s approval did Summer Spencer breathe a sigh of relief, though her mood remained poor.

After breakfast, she picked up her briefcase and had the driver take her to Yanda University Hospital.

Their family had two Rolls-Royce Phantoms, one for her dad and one for her sister.

When it came to her, she only got a Mercedes, such a common luxury car.

Although Summer Spencer was displeased, she didn’t show it.

...

A Mercedes stopped at the entrance of Yanda University Hospital, drawing envious glances from many students.

Summer Spencer’s mood genuinely improved.

She got out of the car, her long legs in an LV business suit appearing first before the crowd, followed by her slender figure and confident demeanor.

She was evidently from a wealthy family.

However, the students at Yanda didn’t crowd around her.

They only glanced at her a few times before going about their own business.

Summer Spencer chuckled to herself and carried her briefcase to find Molly Zimmerman’s ward.

Following the room number provided by her aunt, Summer Spencer found Molly Zimmerman.

She was already awake, eating porridge on her hospital bed.

A few students, both male and female, were tending to her, indicating she hadn’t suffered much.

Summer Spencer greeted her with a smile, ”Molly, I heard something happened to you. My mom asked me to come see you.”

Molly Zimmerman looked up suddenly and was surprised to find her cousin, the daughter of their family’s biggest supporter, Hazel Winchester! Summer Spencer!

”Cousin! What brings you here?! What a surprise!” Molly Zimmerman said quickly, genuinely happy and delighted, even a bit fawning.

It was completely different from the warm smile she usually showed her classmates.

Compared to this genuinely heartfelt smile, her past smiles seemed too ”professional.”

The people taking care of her in the ward were all student council officers from the PR department.

Despite her excitement, Molly Zimmerman remembered to introduce them, ”This is my cousin, the third miss of Spencer Group, Summer Spencer.”

Then she said to Summer Spencer, ”These are the officers from our department’s student council. They are in charge of coordinating the recruitment from your PR department.”

Summer Spencer nodded politely to the students and said with a smile, ”Arrange the itinerary for the day and send it to my secretary. She will take care of the arrangements.”

”Alright, thank you, Miss Spencer.”

The student council officers, who had never interacted with someone from Summer Spencer’s level, were a bit intimidated.

Uncomfortable, they quickly found excuses to leave Molly Zimmerman’s ward.

Once they left, Summer Spencer, with a faint smile, said, ”Go on, what happened that you nearly drowned?”

Molly Zimmerman quickly got out of bed, pulling Summer Spencer coquettishly, ”I’ve been so worried. Since you’re here, please get me discharged first. I want to stay at my own house. I never want to stay in the dormitory again.”

”You should have been living in your own place, but you insisted on staying on campus, talking about bonding with classmates. — You see? We’re fundamentally different from them, how could you bond?” Summer Spencer disdainfully glanced outside the ward.

Molly Zimmerman nodded, sincerely saying, ”Cousin, you’re right! I’ll listen to you from now on. Can we find someone to help me move? I don’t want to go back to the dormitory.”

”What exactly happened?” Summer Spencer, noticing that Molly’s behavior was no longer as reserved as before, speculated that she must have suffered a significant setback.

”I’ll explain in the car,” Molly Zimmerman didn’t want to talk while at school, fearing someone might eavesdrop just outside the door or record her spontaneously on some surveillance.

Molly Zimmerman was meticulous, always planning before acting. Without a backup plan, she never acted rashly.

But this time, she stumbled badly in front of Lawrence Winters.

All her backup plans were dismantled one by one by him.

Molly Zimmerman felt deeply dissatisfied.
