Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 92: Chapter 66: As If Blessed by the Gods (Second Update, Extra Long Chapter)

Summer Spencer called in her secretary and gave him a task: ”Xiao Zhang, find someone to help Molly move out. She won’t be staying in the dorm anymore, she’ll move back to her own house. I’ll send you the address shortly.”

Summer Spencer had several secretaries, and this one handled her daily affairs, essentially running errands.

But being an errand-running secretary is the toughest job because there are no professional requirements, making it hard to satisfy the employer.

This secretary was quite good. Summer Spencer had worked with him for a few months, and he was gradually getting the hang of things.

Xiao Zhang nodded, ”Rest assured, Director Spencer, I’ll find someone right away.”

Then he greeted Molly Zimmerman: ”Miss Zhou, you’re getting discharged now, right? I can have someone arrange the discharge paperwork for you, and you can take Director Spencer’s car home. Or if you prefer, I can contact our Spencer Car Fleet and get another car here for you.”

”No, no, I’ll just ride with my cousin. I have something to discuss with her,” Molly waved her hand eagerly, visibly uplifted compared to her downcast mood yesterday.

Summer Spencer also agreed: ”Xiao Zhang, you can go ahead. Molly will ride with me.”

After confirming the schedule with Summer Spencer, Secretary Xiao Zhang went to arrange Molly Zimmerman’s discharge procedures and called a moving company to get people to move things from her dorm.

Since Molly Zimmerman wasn’t present, Xiao Zhang returned to ask for her handwritten authorization letter and then had her call their dorm leader to confirm the moving company’s access to the dorm.

The dormitory management for undergraduates at Yan University was famously strict nationwide. Even parents with prominent positions visiting their children had to wait honestly downstairs until the dorm leader granted access.

Molly first called her department’s teacher to explain she was leaving for health reasons, then she called the dorm leader of their 38th floor.

Once everything was settled, she got into Summer Spencer’s Benz.

The two sat facing each other in the backseat, and the driver considerately raised the partition inside, so the driver up front couldn’t hear them talking.

Only then did Molly stretch out her legs, take a deep breath, and rub her temples, saying, ”I’ve been holding it in so long.”

”What happened exactly?” Summer Spencer asked while sitting opposite her, opening her petite laptop to check work emails, chatting with Molly along the way.

Molly took a bottle of iced vitamin water from the car’s mini fridge, took a gulp, then rubbed the mouth of the bottle irritably, saying, ”...I was pushed into the lake.”

Summer Spencer: ”...”

She suddenly looked up sharply at Molly: ”...Someone actually pushed you? Why didn’t you report it? Do you know who it was?”

Molly appeared furious, breathing heavily: ”...Maybe she didn’t mean it. Anyway, it was chaotic then. I went to the lakeside first, and they thought I was going to jump in, so they came to pull me.”

”But that Lawrence Winters was just too heavy. She came rushing over and knocked me into the lake!”

Summer Spencer paused, imagining the scene, then chuckled softly, using the chance to look at emails to disguise her laugh, clicking her tongue, ”Did anyone see her trying to pull you? If no one saw...”

Molly became more downcast, ”Yes, not only did they see, they also recorded a video.”

”Then there’s no way to press charges,” Summer concluded the topic and continued, ”So why did they think you were going to jump in the lake?”

This question got to the point.

Molly hesitated a bit but eventually chose to downplay it: ”...A guy was being flirtatious with me for a while, then turned face and denied it. I couldn’t get over it...”

This made Summer Spencer seriously examine Molly, curiously asking, ”A guy rejected you? Setting aside your looks, figure, and intelligence, just considering your family’s status as the Wealthiest in Central South Province, what guy could refuse you?”

”Is his family background better than yours?”

Molly rolled her eyes, ”Better? Not at all. Just middle-class, from a tiny, obscure city, not even from our provincial capital.”

”...So what did you see in him?” Summer got interested, closed her laptop, put it back in her briefcase, crossed her legs, and looked at her eagerly.

Molly squirmed for a while but reluctantly took out her phone, found a photo of Kenneth Osborne, and showed it to Summer, ”Here, take a look yourself...”

Summer glanced at it curiously and couldn’t look away.

She simply took Molly’s phone to have a closer look.

It was just a candid photo.

The guy was wearing a very ordinary black suit, standing casually on the side of a stage, hands tucked in his pants pockets. The angle of the photo was just right, capturing his side profile at a forty-five-degree angle. From his forehead, nose to jawline, every line perfectly matched the golden ratio, hitting everyone’s aesthetic sweet spot.
