Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 61: Chapter 49: Guess Who I Just Saw!

The Great Heavenly Master is always different.

”Even if your uncle can buy a car, can he buy one right after getting off the train?” Kenneth’s smile faded, his voice becoming calm, ”I’ll pick you up at the train station.”

”There’s really no need.” Lawrence still felt it would be too much trouble, ”My uncle is used to renting a car immediately after getting off the train or plane. He might have already booked the car.”

Kenneth: ”...”

”Okay, then call me or message me when you get to the university. I’ll show you around and introduce you to some classmates and professors.” Kenneth remembered that since Lawrence got into college, he really had been receiving ”special treatment” from the department.

Lawrence did not refuse this time and quickly said, ”Even if you didn’t mention it, I’d ask for your help. Although I got into college three years ago, I only go to the university for final exams. I study independently, so I’m not familiar with the classmates or professors...”

Kenneth slightly curled his lips, ”I really wonder how Uncle Nick managed to sort your credits. You should know, university credits also include attendance. It’s not just about the final exam results.”

Lawrence: ”???”

”... Credits include attendance?! My gosh, I’ll definitely fail then!” Lawrence blurted out.

”You knew?” Kenneth chuckled, ”Some of your classmates from that year might talk behind your back when they see you.”

”Meh, I don’t care.” Lawrence said indifferently, ”If someone rolls their eyes at me, I’ll return double the eye-rolls. Bigger eyes, nothing to fear!”

”Yeah, that’s right, our Nora is the best-looking.” Kenneth’s exquisite phoenix-like eyes squinted slightly, his smile growing even wider.

Lawrence always accepted such compliments without hesitation and wasn’t the least bit modest or shy. She nodded with a smile, ”You’ve got great taste, Kenneth. Although I’m a bit chubby, my face is still attractive, right?”

”Yes, not only attractive but also pinchable.” Kenneth reached out his hand, mimicking a pinching gesture in the air as if Lawrence’s fair peach-like face was right in front of him.

”I’ll pinch back! Kenneth’s face is truly exquisite; every pinch is a gain.” Lawrence also mimicked a pinching gesture.

If others called Kenneth ”exquisite,” he would surely be annoyed.

But hearing it from Lawrence, Kenneth wasn’t angry at all—instead, he laughed joyfully.

After their playful conversation, Kenneth immediately took out his phone and booked a ticket.

Since Brooke Osborne was not at home, he would have already returned to school if he wasn’t waiting for Lawrence.

Now that Lawrence’s train ticket for the sixteenth of January was confirmed, Kenneth booked a flight for the fourteenth.

...

In just a few days, the sixteenth of January arrived. Nick Zeller and Gabrielle Winters packed their things lightly and, along with Lawrence, each carrying a suitcase, they hailed a taxi to take the three of them to the train station.

Nick Zeller often traveled and never compromised on his comfort during trips, so he naturally bought first-class seats with a spacious row of three seats.

After boarding the train, they found that the carriage was unexpectedly empty, with many seats unoccupied.

Lawrence put down her suitcase, curiously leaned over to look around, and asked, ”Uncle Nick, what’s so great about this train?—there’s hardly anyone here!”

Nick Zeller had specifically ”calculated” this before choosing to buy the ticket for this particular train.

He looked at the empty carriage, scratched the back of his head, and grinned sheepishly, ”... Heh, only a fifty percent accuracy rate, what were you expecting? Besides, isn’t it nice that it’s quiet without so many people?”

Lawrence covered her mouth and snickered, pulled down by Gabrielle Winters to sit down.

”...Alright, the train’s about to leave. Don’t be restless like a monkey,” Gabrielle Winters handed her an iPad, ”Aren’t the movies interesting or games fun? Can you sit quietly until we reach the Capital City?”

”I can! I promise I can!” Lawrence hugged the iPad and put on headphones to watch dramas.

Soon after they sat down, more people gradually entered the carriage.

And they were no ordinary people.

Initially, a few staff members in uniforms came to inspect the carriage. After confirming there were no issues, they stood at attention, stationed at intervals throughout the carriage.

Sensing the commotion, Lawrence glanced with the corner of her eye, took off her headphones, and gestured to Nick Zeller on the other side of the aisle: Uncle Nick, what’s going on?

Nick Zeller crossed his arms and pretended to ”play dead,” completely ignoring Lawrence.

Lawrence turned to her mother Gabrielle Winters, who was still focused on watching her iPad, truly tuning out everything around her, engrossed only in her TV drama.

Seeing this, Lawrence knew she should suppress her curiosity and quietly sit, but she discreetly set her AirPods to a mode where she could hear external sounds.

Maintaining her previous posture with her head down, she stealthily observed a couple walking past her out of the corner of her eye.

The man wore a black uniform, tall and imposing, exuding an aura of authority. Lawrence immediately straightened up, stiffening her neck but dared not glance directly.

The woman’s presence was much more pleasant; she wore a black-and-white houndstooth skirt suit, and the sight of the skirt’s corner revealed it was a classic Chanel style!

Lawrence couldn’t hold back and sneakily raised her gaze for a peek.

Whoa!

Who did she see?!

Radiant big eyes, charming angular lips, wasn’t that Chief Graham?!

And the man walking ahead, could he be Mason...!

She was a devout fan of the Mason and Graham pairing!

The kind who signed in daily for the Mason and Graham super-topic!

Indeed, the train manager appeared, bowing to the couple ahead of them, and all the female attendants in the carriage showed utmost respect following the uniformed staff.

When Lawrence heard them address the couple as ”Mr. Mason, Mrs. Graham,” she knew she had it spot on.

She couldn’t resist the urge to snap her fingers to let others know who she had just seen!
