Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2401: Chapter 2402: She Feels Aggrieved for Her Parents

”Brother, your tone isn’t right here, is this a trivial matter? Yes, perhaps in your eyes it’s a small thing, but to Baobei, it’s not. You know Baobei previously had mental health issues, and it’s my elder brother and sister-in-law who have been taking care of her all this time. It’s actually thanks to them that Baobei is doing so well now. I think you can see, even though my elder brother and sister-in-law aren’t much older than Baobei, in her eyes, they are her real parents. But you, you’ve been dating for more than a year and still refuse to change the way you address them. Baobei even said, and you know that you always have Mo Mo and Xin Xin call you brother, yet why won’t you change how you address them?”

Hearing Wen Xian say this, Zihan also knew he was wrong, but even if he was, he did not need to apologize to Wen Xian. The person he needed to apologize to was An Baobei.

So, as soon as he hung up with Wen Xian, Zihan left the hotel and went to the Su Family to find An Baobei.

He arrived in S City yesterday, arranged everything at the hotel for a very grand proposal today, but An Baobei still didn’t agree. So, he planned to keep staying at the hotel and didn’t come to the Su Family to stay.

When Zihan arrived at the Su Family, it was already eleven at night. An Baobei was preparing for bed but hadn’t slept yet when the knocking on the door rang continuously, so An Baobei opened it puzzled.

As soon as she saw Zihan standing at the door, she knew Wen Xian must have told him, and her eyes immediately turned red with grievance.

It wasn’t for herself that she felt wronged, but for her parents. Her parents had given birth to her, raised her, and loved her for so many years. If she got married and her husband couldn’t call them mom and dad, just thinking about it makes her lose any thought of getting married.

Originally, Zihan was a bit angry, thinking An Baobei shouldn’t be acting like this—if he did something wrong, couldn’t she just tell him directly? He only found out the real reason she didn’t accept his proposal from Wen Xian.

But seeing An Baobei’s eyes turn red at the sight of him, Zihan couldn’t stay angry; he felt distressed and quickly hugged her, calming her while apologizing: ”It’s my fault, I didn’t think it through, not that I didn’t want to change the way I address them, it’s just awkward. But since you care so much, okay, I promise you, I’ll try to change the way I address them, alright?”

His gentle words made An Baobei feel a lot better, and she looked up, asking him, ”Can you really change how you address them?”

”Uh...” Zihan was at a loss for words, but after a long time, he made a resolute decision: ”For you to agree to marry me, I definitely can change it.”

An Baobei finally smiled.

Zihan, however, couldn’t smile and complained: ”Why didn’t you tell me if you had something on your mind? You had to wait for me to ask Wen Xian to get it out of you. If you had said it when I first proposed, would we be at the point where you still haven’t agreed to marry me? Maybe we would already be married.”

An Baobei was immediately a little angry, ”I’m obviously so concerned about my parents, yet you stubbornly stick to calling my dad Boss Su to annoy me. How dare you turn it on me?”

”You know I’m not good at handling interpersonal relationships.” Zihan felt a bit helpless. ”Alright, let’s not argue or debate anymore. If I do anything wrong in the future, just tell me directly. If you keep it to yourself, you won’t feel good, and it makes me feel bad too.”

An Baobei felt what he said made sense, so she nodded.
