Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2435: Chapter 2436: Return to Tianyun (2)

Su Xing was displeased when criticized: ”You only talk about me, but when you changed your major, such a big deal, you didn’t tell mom and dad either.”

Su Mo’s major was originally Business Administration. After one month of classes, he found it uninteresting and switched to Medicine. Once he made the switch, he found it more interesting and challenging, and didn’t change again.

Su Mo was slightly taken aback by his sister’s words, and then softened his tone, ”My changing a major is nothing compared to you joining the army. Being a soldier is really tough.”

Su Xing knew her brother cared about her and didn’t want her to suffer, but the problem was: ”Brother, I really want to join the army. I’m eighteen now, I can decide my own life. When I go back on Saturday, I’ll talk to mom and dad about it.”

Seeing his sister so determined, Su Mo could only compromise: ”Then when the time comes, explain it well. Mom and dad are reasonable people, they just care a lot about us. They might not want you to go to the army because they don’t want you to suffer.”

”I’ve thought it through. I’ll explain thoroughly. Don’t worry about me, brother. Let’s go; I’ll treat you to a meal, I still have quite a bit on my meal card.”

Su Mo followed Su Xing towards the cafeteria, while complaining, ”Wasn’t the money on your meal card recharged by me? If I knew you wanted to join the army, I wouldn’t have recharged so much.”

”That’s because you care about me!” Su Xing hugged his arm, acting spoiled. Even though they are only a few minutes apart, Su Mo has always doted on her as her brother.

Su Mo smiled but couldn’t help teasing her: ”Why do you have such a strong will! Since you were little, you always have!”

”Having a strong will isn’t a good thing, right? Dad thinks it’s quite good.”

”Hope dad will also think you joining the army is great then.”

”Don’t keep raining on my parade, okay!”

”Should I treat this meal then?”

”OK~”

...

On Saturday, as soon as Su Xing got home, she told An Jing and Su Changyi that she had applied for a leave of absence and was going to join the army.

An Jing had a smile on her face seeing her child come home, but upon hearing Su Xing wanted to leave school to join the army, she stopped smiling and seriously asked, ”Xin’er, joining the army is not a trivial matter, have you thought it through?”

”Mom, I have thought it through, and you guys also know, I’ve always wanted to be a soldier.” Then she reassured, ”Mom, I’ve learned a lot of martial arts from my sister, so I know hardship. I can endure in the army, I’m not afraid of it, so you don’t need to worry about me.”

Her daughter also wanted to join the army just like her...

An Jing felt a bit emotional, touching her daughter’s head: ”You are eighteen now. If you’ve truly thought it through, it is your life to decide. Mom doesn’t object. However, you should still ask your dad.”

”Dad~” Su Xing immediately clung to the emotionless Su Changyi’s arm, acting spoiled, hoping he would agree.

It was rare for Su Changyi to sigh, ”You’ve always been like this, making decisions first, explaining later.”

Su Xing grinned, ”That’s because I’ve got it all figured out.”

Su Changyi sighed again before nodding, ”Since you’re so determined, and it’s your choice, if you want to be a soldier, then go for it.”

”Thank you, Dad!”

...

Su Xing only completed the first semester of her freshman year, then she went to join the army. Once she entered, she stayed for six years. When An Jing and Su Changyi thought she would continue her military service, they received a call from the army, saying that Su Xing had died honorably on a mission.
