Chapter 2400: Chapter 2401: Just Because of This?

An Baobei: ”But I really don’t want to get married right now.”

”...Alright then.” Ning Zihan didn’t push. He couldn’t force her to marry him.

However, Ning Zihan felt that An Baobei was just brushing him off, so that night, Ning Zihan called Ning Wenxian, asking her to help him out and see why An Baobei hadn’t agreed to his proposal yet.

Ning Wenxian happily agreed to help her brother with this small favor. After hanging up the call with Ning Zihan, she went to An Baobei’s room to ask.

Ning Wenxian sat by An Baobei’s bed and asked her, ”Baobei, you do like my brother quite a lot, don’t you? Why haven’t you agreed to his proposal?”

An Baobei glanced at her, ”Did your brother send you here?”

Ning Wenxian forced a smile: ”He really wants to marry you. I’ve never seen him like this; he genuinely wants to build a life with you.”

An Baobei pouted, ”I still don’t want to get married.”

Ning Wenxian laughed and said, ”He’s sent me to ask, so he obviously doesn’t believe your reasons anymore. He’s proposed so many times, and every time you use this excuse to reject him. You should just be honest with Auntie. You two shouldn’t keep being stubborn about this. Auntie can tell you guys are clearly in love.”

Only then did An Baobei show her displeasure on her face, ”I do want to marry him, but look at how he acts. He still calls my dad ’Boss Su,’ doesn’t even call him uncle. As for my mom, he just smiles at her, doesn’t even use a title. Yet he unapologetically demands Mo Mo and Xin Xin to call him brother. Why doesn’t he change his own way of addressing them?!”

Saying this, An Baobei grabbed Ning Wenxian’s hand, ”Auntie, do you think he’s doing the right thing? He doesn’t know they’re my real parents, I can understand if he finds it awkward to say it. But we’ve been together for over a year now; is it still that awkward? He can adjust to everything else, so why not this? I was hoping he’d realize on his own, but looking at him, he probably won’t. Now that you’ve come to ask me about it, saying we can’t keep being stuck like this, that’s why I’m telling you.”

Ning Wenxian sighed: ”In this matter, my brother is indeed wrong. I’ll have a good talk with him, you don’t need to be upset. He probably doesn’t know how much this matters to you. You know, everyone thinks you only call her mom because you lost a bet. Your mom married your dad, then you called him dad. How could he know your parents are your real ones?”

Ning Wenxian reassured An Baobei with some comforting words and then returned to her room, calling Ning Zihan right in front of Su Chengyu.

As soon as Ning Zihan answered, he eagerly asked her, ”So, did you find out?”

Ning Wenxian chuckled, ”I did find out, but brother, you want to marry Baobei so badly, can’t you just think about what you haven’t done well?”

”What haven’t I done well? I’m clearly so good to her.” Ning Zihan was quite puzzled, feeling wronged.

Ning Wenxian shook her head and said, ”I don’t expect you to figure it out yourself, so I’ll just tell you directly. The thing is, Baobei actually wants to marry you, but she says you refuse to call my big brother and sister-in-law Uncle and Aunt, so if you get married in the future, you also won’t change to calling them Mom and Dad. That’s why Baobei hasn’t agreed to marry you.”

”Just because of that?” Ning Zihan couldn’t believe it.
