Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2433: Chapter 2434: Turns Out He Was the Worried One

Her own husband was working hard at it, and An Baobei nodded, smiling as she said, ”Now you’re finally starting to look a bit like a father.”

Ning Zihan just gave a snort and said nothing.

...

As soon as little Ning Tongzhou started crawling, Ning Zihan couldn’t wait to send him over to have Ning Wuze take care of him for a while.

When Ning Wuze saw Ning Zihan bringing his grandson over for him to look after, he was very happy, but he still said, ”You just send the kid over like this, does Baobei know? Will she agree? Will she feel okay about it?”

”She’s already agreed, so just relax and watch him.” As he spoke, Ning Zihan put all the things his son would need on the sofa. ”Dad, everything Zhouzhou needs is here. If you need anything for him, just look in here.”

”Mm.” Ning Wuze answered Ning Zihan while holding his grandson in his arms with a beaming smile.

Ning Zihan reminded him of a few more things before he finally left.

That night, An Baobei was actually quite at ease with the baby being at Ning Wuze’s place, but Ning Zihan wasn’t. He even woke up with a start in the middle of the night, sat up, and said, ”Wife, I think I heard our son crying.”

An Baobei was woken up and was rubbing her eyes when she heard what Ning Zihan said. With a bit of nasal grogginess, she answered, ”Our son’s at Dad’s. Even if he’s crying, you wouldn’t hear it. Did you have a dream?”

”I didn’t dream it. He’s definitely crying.” Ning Zihan hurriedly got out of bed. He didn’t even call Ning Wuze, just changed his clothes, grabbed the car keys, and drove straight over to Ning Wuze’s.

Seeing Ning Zihan show up in the middle of the night, Ning Wuze was very surprised. ”What are you doing here at this hour?”

Striding into Ning Wuze’s room, Ning Zihan asked as he walked, ”Dad, was Zhouzhou crying?”

Ning Wuze said, ”No, he wasn’t. He hasn’t cried at all today, he’s been very good.”

Ning Zihan didn’t believe it. ”That’s impossible. When Baobei and I take care of him, he cries one or two times every night before he’s willing to sleep properly.”

As he spoke, Ning Zihan had already reached the bedside. Seeing baby Ning Tongzhou sleeping soundly, he frowned.

But Ning Wuze laughed. ”Zihan, are you just not at ease about the kid? How about you take him back, then you won’t have to run over here in the middle of the night to check.”

His tone was full of thick teasing and amusement.

Ning Zihan was extremely agitated. Before, because he felt for how hard his wife had it, he had been the one taking care of their son at night almost all the time. Now that he suddenly didn’t have to, to be honest, he really wasn’t used to it.

At first he thought he’d be totally relaxed, but once the child was actually at his dad’s, the one who couldn’t relax turned out to be him.

And to think that when he’d brought the child over to his dad’s, he’d been the one constantly soothing his wife, saying how great it would be to have his dad look after the baby.

And now it was totally coming back to slap him in the face.

Even though Ning Wuze’s teasing made him feel a bit embarrassed, in the end Ning Zihan still decided to take his son Ning Tongzhou back, so he wouldn’t go on like just now, jumpy and paranoid and unable to calm down.

”Dad, I’ll just take Zhouzhou back. In a couple of days, Baobei and I will move back here.” In other words: in a couple of days, I won’t be dropping the kid off at all, you can have him during the day as much as you want.

Afraid that Ning Zihan would change his mind, Ning Wuze immediately stopped teasing him and was especially pleased. ”Good, good, good.”

This house had been just him living in it for a long time already. He’d been wishing his son and grandson would come back and live under the same roof with him. Now that it was about to come true, how could he not be happy?

Once Ning Zihan got out of bed, An Baobei couldn’t fall back asleep either. She sat up and waited for him to come back. Seeing that he did come back—and even brought their son back with him—An Baobei immediately hugged Ning Zihan in delight and gave him a kiss.
