Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2425: Chapter 2426: That’s How He’s Always Done It

An Baobei said, ”I don’t agree with you. I think two kids would be better, they can be companions. One child is so lonely, isn’t it?”

Ning Zihan disagreed scornfully, ”What’s so lonely about it? Aren’t we living just fine? It’s not like he’s all alone.”

An Baobei was both amused and annoyed, ”I can’t get through to you!”

Afraid she might really get upset, and knowing her current health is not fit for anger, Ning Zihan hastily placated her, ”If we can’t agree then let’s drop it. Be good and go to sleep now.”

His soothing words immediately made An Baobei feel better, and she asked with a smile, ”Then when will you sleep?”

”I’ll sleep once my hair is dry.”

”Okay.”

Once Ning Zihan’s hair was dry, he picked up his phone and saw a call he had missed during his shower, from an unfamiliar number. He guessed it was that person calling and promptly blocked the number, so it couldn’t reach him again.

He’s been doing that over this period of time.

After blocking the number, Ning Zihan placed his phone back on the bedside table. He noticed An Baobei was already asleep, but he still tucked the edge of her blanket to prevent her from catching cold at night. Then he lay on the other bed, facing An Baobei, turned off the lights, closed his eyes, and went to sleep.

The next day, in the morning, Ning Zihan helped An Baobei get dressed before they went out for a walk in the villa’s yard.

The villa’s yard was large, with many flowers and plants, and being close to the mountains, the air was particularly fresh. An Baobei originally didn’t have the habit of walking, but since becoming pregnant, she was often lethargic. Ning Zihan worried she might develop health issues from lying around too much, so he accompanied her for walks in the yard every morning and evening.

She quite liked having her husband walk with her.

Her husband really, really loves her.

It’s just that sometimes her husband’s temper is something she can’t quite admire, but fortunately, her husband makes an effort to control it for her. That’s enough; she doesn’t ask for much, just for him to be good to her.

After accompanying An Baobei for the morning walk and having a simple breakfast, Ning Zihan instructed the housekeeper and servants to take good care of An Baobei before heading to work at the company. But before even entering the company, he was stopped by Fang Boya.

Ning Zihan didn’t want to pay attention to Fang Boya and tried to go straight into the company, but Fang Boya grabbed him, knelt down, and pleaded tearfully, ”Zihan, it was mom’s fault in the past. I don’t ask for forgiveness. I just want to talk to you properly. Considering mom is about to die, can you grant me this small request?”

Ning Zihan looked coldly at the person kneeling on the ground and sneered, ”Yesterday you told my wife you just wanted to see me once, now that you’ve seen me, you say you want to talk properly? Fang Boya, should I call you greedy or fickle? Like how you’re fickle in liking one man today and another tomorrow!”

Because of gastric cancer, Fang Boya was tortured by illness, her hair already turned gray, like a seventy or eighty-year-old lady.

At this moment, Fang Boya, resembling an old lady, pitifully continued to beg and said, ”Zihan, there’s nothing wrong in pursuing love. I know you can’t understand my mindset, but I’m really about to die. Please, talk to me properly just once. This might be the last time.”

”You pursued love without caring about your husband, son, daughter’s feelings? Just abandoning them for your own happiness?!” Ning Zihan erupted in anger, not wanting to deal with Fang Boya at all, and tried to shake her off and leave.
