Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2405: Chapter 2406: Or Was It Someone Else?

Seeing Ning Zihan so happy, An Baobei had never seen the calm, composed Ning Zihan like this before, and her heart felt even sweeter, with a bigger smile on her face.

...

Before getting their marriage license, An Baobei naturally had to let An Jing and Su Changyi know.

So, early the next morning, as soon as An Jing and Su Changyi woke up, An Baobei dragged Ning Zihan along to tell them about their plan to get the marriage license today.

Su Changyi was not very pleased upon hearing this: ”We haven’t even discussed the wedding details, and you want to get the license already?”

An Baobei laughed and said, ”We’ll handle the wedding after we get the license. We can discuss it then. For now, let’s get the license. That’s our plan, and dad, please agree to it.”

An Jing smiled and said, ”Better not rush to get the license. Discuss the wedding details first, it’s the same if you get the license after the wedding. If the wedding plans don’t go smoothly, and you end up splitting, having the license will only add to your troubles.”

Ning Zihan’s face immediately fell.

An Baobei was equally unhappy: ”Mom, why are you saying that? We’re not even married yet, are you hoping we’ll break up?”

An Jing laughed and said, ”Don’t misunderstand me, when did I ever wish for you to break up? Since you’re together, I naturally wish for you to be together for a long, long time. But truthfully, it’s highly possible that wedding plans can fall apart. Many people end up that way, so I’m just giving you a heads up.”

Ning Zihan immediately said, ”That won’t happen!”

An Baobei also said, ”That won’t happen!”

Then, An Baobei began to pout playfully: ”Mom, please talk to dad, let him agree to let us get the marriage license. I really want to go with Ning Zihan to get it. You know if Ning Zihan and I didn’t want to get married, he wouldn’t have proposed, and I wouldn’t have accepted. Since one proposed and the other accepted, we’ve both thought it through. No matter what, we’re definitely getting the license. It’s better to let us get it early so we can be at ease, and not constantly worry about it, which is unsettling.”

An Jing glanced at Ning Zihan with a smile, then said to An Baobei, ”I don’t think it’s you who’s eager to get the license; it’s someone else.”

The ’someone else’ naturally referred to Ning Zihan.

An Baobei just grinned foolishly.

An Jing chuckled helplessly and shook her head, then looked towards Su Changyi: ”Given the situation, let them go get the license first, then discuss wedding matters afterward, it’s just as well.”

Only then did Su Changyi relent and allowed An Baobei and Ning Zihan to go get the marriage license.

Once they returned from the Civil Affairs Bureau, An Baobei immediately showed An Jing and Su Changyi their marriage license.

Su Mo and Su Xing, the little ones, happily circled Ning Zihan, calling out, ”Brother-in-law, brother-in-law...”

Brother-in-law sounds much nicer than brother.

Ning Zihan felt content hearing this, and without being prompted, lifted Su Mo and Su Xing high up, making them even happier, laughing gleefully.

With the license in hand, An Baobei didn’t mind sharing a room with Ning Zihan. On the night of getting the license, Ning Zihan slept in An Baobei’s room.

Also because they got the license, An Baobei started calling Ning Zihan ’husband’.

”Now that you’ve got the license, when’s the wedding?” One day, Su Changyi proactively asked.

An Baobei smiled and said, ”My husband says the wedding will be on the 8th of next month.”

Su Changyi snorted, ”Why did your husband decide? Don’t you have any opinion?”

An Baobei felt awkward, quickly tugged Ning Zihan’s sleeve secretly, asking him to smooth things over.

Ning Zihan always knew Su Changyi wasn’t very fond of him, but since his own wife asked him to smooth things over, he said, ”Baobei also wants the wedding on the 8th of next month. I suggested it, and she agreed without objections.”
