Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2431: Chapter 2432: Afraid to Move

An Baobei was fuming.

She was really too angry. An Baobei strode over to Ning Zihan, shoved the little baby in her arms into Ning Zihan’s, and said, ”You hold him, I’m taking a break!”

Although Ning Zihan didn’t particularly like this son, the kid was still so tiny. When An Baobei shoved him over, he didn’t even dare struggle, afraid he’d somehow hurt this boneless little son of his.

”Honey, hurry up and take our son back...” Ning Zihan’s whole body was stiff, and he didn’t even dare move his arms.

Seeing the rare look on Ning Zihan’s face that was so close to tears, An Baobei couldn’t help laughing. ”It’s not like you’ve never held a baby before. When Tian Tian was born, you held her just fine. Why are you like this now?”

”She’s not our biological kid, I could just hold her however.”

”...You better never let my second uncle and second aunt hear you say that. And Tian Tian, too. Tian Tian is six now, she understands stuff. If she found out you just held her casually and weren’t afraid of hurting her, she’d be heartbroken. You know she really likes you, her uncle.”

”Don’t talk about her right now, just hurry and take our son back.” Ning Zihan really couldn’t stand being this stiff anymore, but he truly was scared to hold his son, afraid he’d somehow break him.

Even though he didn’t really like this son, he was still his own son, after all, definitely different in his heart from other people’s kids.

But An Baobei refused to take him back. Smiling, she coaxed Ning Zihan to look at the tiny baby in his arms. ”Look how much our son likes his daddy. The moment he’s in your arms, he stops crying and even grins at you.”

Only then did Ning Zihan notice that. Even though the little guy was grinning happily, he still couldn’t feel happy at all and kept insisting that An Baobei take their son back.

”Hurry up and take him...” Ning Zihan really was about to cry. ”I can’t hold on anymore, my arms are sore...”

An Baobei was speechless. ”Just move a little, then. Who told you to stand there like a statue without moving?”

”I don’t dare move... What if I hurt our son?”

An Baobei burst out laughing. ”Our son isn’t made of glass. Just be gentle.”

Ning Zihan still shook his head and refused to move.

Seeing him frozen there like that, not moving at all, clearly exhausted, An Baobei sighed and finally took their son back from his arms. The moment there was no baby in his arms, Ning Zihan immediately put a big distance between himself and An Baobei, afraid she’d hand the baby to him again.

An Baobei just found it hilarious. ”Is it really that serious?”

”It is! If I really break our son while holding him, where am I supposed to find another one to keep you company?” Ning Zihan even sounded righteous about it.

An Baobei found it even funnier.

”Don’t hand our son to me to hold from now on.” It was just too terrifying. Such a tiny little body, and so soft—he really didn’t dare move at all, afraid of hurting the little guy.

An Baobei was speechless again. ”You can’t seriously plan on never holding your son for the rest of your life, right?”

Ning Zihan felt that never holding his son for life wasn’t realistic, so he said, ”Let’s wait till he’s a bit bigger. He’s too small right now. Don’t force me to hold him, or I’ll end up traumatized.”

Since her husband had already put it that way, An Baobei didn’t push it anymore.

Ning Zihan had originally planned to wait until the baby could crawl before trying to hold him, but seeing that An Baobei wouldn’t let the servants take care of the baby and insisted on doing it all by herself, which was exhausting, Ning Zihan felt really bad for her. So he started working on overcoming his fear, and finally, when their son was four months old, he dared to hold him.

Knowing that Ning Zihan had stepped up to help with the baby because he couldn’t bear to see how tired she was made An Baobei feel very warm inside.
