Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1789: Chapter 1790: I Haven’t Settled the Score With You Yet

”Besides, I asked you to come here for two reasons: one, to learn medicine by my side, and two, to meet your parents. Hurry down, your mother has come to pick you up.” Gong Juechen opened the carriage door, urging Su Yixing to get down quickly.

It was only then that Su Yixing realized An Jing was also there. He jumped off the carriage and ran towards An Jing: ”Mother!”

An Jing was waiting there, smiling as she watched her second son happily running towards her. Though they hadn’t seen each other for eleven months, her second son had grown quite a bit taller. He hadn’t lost weight. Seeing his spirited appearance, it was clear he was doing well at Slayer Tower.

An Jing’s heart finally settled with relief.

It’s not that she didn’t trust Ye Zhi and Gong Juechen to take good care of her second son, but as a mother, she could only truly be at ease after seeing her second son with her own eyes.

”Mother, your son is back.” As soon as Su Yixing reached An Jing, he was about to kneel before her.

But how could An Jing let him kneel? She quickly supported him, not allowing him to kneel.

”It’s fine, it’s good enough that you can come back and visit.” An Jing beamed. She had thought she wouldn’t see her second son until he had completed his studies, but now it had only been eleven months. Even though eleven months was actually quite long, it was much shorter than her years-long expectation. Now that she was truly seeing her second son, she, as a mother, was genuinely happy.

”Mother, where is father? Why didn’t he come with you to pick me up?” Su Yixing asked with a smile.

”You’re old enough, do you still need your father to pick you up?” An Jing chuckled. ”Your father is at home taking care of Qi child, Lin child, and Zhi child. The three of them are getting more and more active and can’t stay still. I couldn’t bring them along, so they’re at home waiting with your father taking care of them.”

Su Yixing immediately sighed and said, ”I’ve been away for so long, Qi and the others must have forgotten about me as their brother and won’t give me the good stuff anymore.”

An Jing found it even more amusing: ”Turns out the purpose of those three little brothers is to give you good things, huh?”

”Of course not, I just feel a bit disappointed. Back then I taught them for several months before they learned to give me whatever they had.”

An Jing raised her hand and lightly tapped Su Yi Jing’s head. ”I haven’t even held you accountable yet. It’s all your fault. In the first month after you left, they still habitually wanted to give you things. But since you weren’t there, they cried several times. Later, they got used to you not being around and stopped wanting to give you things.”

”Mother, hearing you say that makes me even more disappointed.” Su Yixing said with a bitter face, ”I feel like going back with Master to learn medicine was such a loss.”

At this moment, Gong Juechen had already picked up Gong Le and was walking over with Ye Zhi.

And as soon as he approached, Gong Juechen laughed and said, ”How could it be a loss? You’ve nearly emptied the treasures in my old home’s storeroom.”

”No way!” Su Yixing had a look as if not wanting to be wronged. ”There are still many things in those storerooms! Besides, I heard from Uncle Ronghua that there isn’t just one storeroom in the old home, but many!”

Saying this, Su Yixing’s eyes sparkled, ”Master, when will you let me see the other storerooms?”

Gong Juechen said, ”Didn’t I say, as long as you agree to take my position, everything in the storerooms, no matter which one, will be yours.”

”...Let me think about it some more.” Su Yixing thought it best to heed his father’s and mother’s advice, and not make such a decision too early.
