Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1785: Chapter 1786: You Actually Also Have a Heartless Moment

Meng Zhuqing glanced at Tobanya, who had already fallen asleep and seemed to be sleeping soundly, and then walked out of the inner chamber with a complex heart.

It wasn’t until they reached outside the courtyard that Gong Juechen reminded, ”Zhuzhu, let Jade Jade drink the previous medicine for a few more days. Once I take her pulse again and confirm her body can handle it, I’ll prescribe other medicines to recuperate her health.”

Meng Zhuqing did not respond immediately but remained silent. After a while, he suddenly said, ”Prescribe me some abortion medicine.”

Gong Juechen was taken aback.

An Jing quickly asked, ”Didn’t you promise Jade Jade to keep the child? Why are you asking for abortion medicine?”

Meng Zhuqing said softly, ”I do want to keep the child, but... I want her to be safe and sound even more.”

An Jing fell silent immediately.

Gong Juechen had nothing to say either, so he didn’t say anything.

Meng Zhuqing continued to Gong Juechen, ”I know abortion harms the mother greatly, but compared to the outcome of a difficult childbirth, I can accept this. I have no hope now, only that the abortion medicine you prescribe can cause her body as little harm as possible.”

Gong Juechen replied leisurely, ”If you ask me to prescribe it, I naturally will. I’ll prescribe it for you in a moment.”

”Gong Juechen, don’t prescribe it yet!” An Jing hurriedly stopped him. Then, An Jing looked at Meng Zhuqing and said seriously, ”I understand why you’re doing this, but you should also understand Jade Jade. She is fierce and stubborn. Never being able to conceive was always a pain in her heart, and now that she’s finally pregnant, this child is her life. If you deceive her into taking abortion medicine and abort the child, have you considered the consequences? She definitely won’t be able to bear it!”

”But am I supposed to just watch her die from a difficult childbirth?” Meng Zhuqing said with a face full of grief.

An Jing said, ”That’s a very big possibility, not absolute certainty. There’s still a chance of peace. Moreover, I didn’t ask you to just watch. I simply hope you won’t deceive her like this. I hope you can make her understand and agree to abort the child, rather than you deceiving her and secretly aborting her child.”

After a pause, An Jing emphasized, ”If you secretly abort the child she finally conceived at this moment, you would definitely be pushing her to death!”

”But she won’t agree to abort the child...” At this moment, Meng Zhuqing didn’t know what to do.

Seeing Meng Zhuqing like this, Gong Juechen, who originally didn’t want to interfere, spoke up after a moment of silence, ”Jingjing is right. If you secretly abort her child now, it would be a fatal blow to her. I think you should let her give birth to the child. At least that way, she would still have a chance of survival.”

With An Jing and Gong Juechen both saying so, how could Meng Zhuqing dare to secretly abort Tobanya’s child?

Meng Zhuqing gave a bitter smile to Gong Juechen, ”It would’ve been better if you hadn’t come.”

If he hadn’t come, those Imperial Physicians wouldn’t have been able to save the child at all. Letting the child naturally pass might have been the best outcome.

Gong Juechen grinned cheekily, ”It’s rare to see you being so heartless. But even if I hadn’t come, your wife wouldn’t have survived. Didn’t you see how she withered in just a few days? She’s clearly prepared to follow the child if the child is lost. Don’t tell me you didn’t notice at all?”

Meng Zhuqing was initially stunned, then his bitter smile deepened, ”What difference does it make if I did notice? I still want her to be safe and sound.”
