Chapter 1782: Chapter 1783: The Child Can Be Saved, But There May Be Complications in Labor

Gong Juechen walked forward with An Jing, sighing as he lifted his head, ”You’re putting a lot of pressure on me with this.”

An Jing said, ”Pressure creates motivation. You must ensure her child’s safety.”

Gong Juechen wasn’t very concerned, but he responded, ”I’ll do my best. I’m here now. If I can ensure it, of course, I’ll help; but if it’s unavoidable, there’s nothing I can do.”

His medical skills are superb, but he’s not omnipotent.

An Jing knew that Gong Juechen wasn’t wrong; that is indeed the case. Therefore, she had nothing left to say, only hoping Tobanya’s child could be saved, and Tobanya could fulfill her dream.

Regarding Gong Juechen, Tobanya still had some reservations in her heart, but she didn’t have the mind to consider these now, as all her focus was on the child in her belly.

As Gong Juechen approached the bed, he saw Tobanya lying there with a pale face, her lips devoid of any color.

These past few days, Meng Zhuqing also hasn’t been doing well, appearing utterly exhausted.

Gong Juechen glanced at Meng Zhuqing before checking Tobanya’s pulse. He spent quite a while before withdrawing his hand, and instead of immediately announcing the results, he asked Tobanya a few questions regarding her health.

Tobanya answered each one honestly.

Once he had all the information he wanted, Gong Juechen checked Tobanya’s pulse again. After retracting his hand once more, he said mildly, ”If you want this child, I can help you keep it, but—”

Before Gong Juechen could finish speaking, Tobanya’s eyes lit up. She sat up and eagerly said, ”Of course I want it!”

”Let me finish.” Gong Juechen’s tone remained mild.

Tobanya’s hands instinctively clutched the blanket. Her shining eyes were gradually turning red at a visible pace.

She was scared.

She feared he was deceiving her about keeping the child.

Seeing this, Meng Zhuqing promptly sat back on the bed, hugged Tobanya, and embraced her, hoping his warmth could give Tobanya the strength to endure.

An Jing felt very heavy-hearted. Gong Juechen hadn’t finished speaking, but she heard him mention a ’but’, signifying the situation might not be optimistic.

Gong Juechen glanced at Tobanya’s hand tightly clasping the blanket. That hand was still very pale, but due to the tight grip, veins bulged frighteningly on the back of the hand. Yet, Gong Juechen didn’t seem concerned.

While withdrawing his gaze from Tobanya’s hand, he continued speaking mildly, ”You once suffered severe abdominal trauma, making childbirth unsuitable. But now that you are pregnant, if you insist on having the child, I can indeed help you keep it. However, there’s an issue: given your physical condition, the likelihood of complications during childbirth is extremely high.”

”You know about complications during childbirth, don’t you? It could result in the loss of both mother and child, or save the child but not the mother, or save the mother but not the child. This will only be clear at that time.”

”In other words, even if I can temporarily safeguard your child, I cannot guarantee you’ll safely deliver this child. Also...”

After a pause, Gong Juechen continued, ”To prevent an irreparable tragedy, I suggest you terminate the pregnancy now. You’re almost three months pregnant. The fetus will gradually form in your womb, and terminating later will be more harmful to your body.”
