Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1788: Chapter 1789: There’s Nothing About You for Me to Miss

Upon hearing this, Tobanya’s tears fell instantly. Without saying a word, she just kept looking at Meng Zhuqing, shedding tears silently.

Meng Zhuqing couldn’t stand her silent accusation with tears and immediately surrendered: ”Yao’er, it’s my fault, it’s all my fault, I shouldn’t say such things anymore. Clearly, I’ve promised you, please don’t cry, okay? I won’t say such things again, I will go along with you, as long as you stop crying, alright?”

”The child...” Tobanya finally spoke, her voice choked beyond measure.

Meng Zhuqing immediately said: ”If you want to keep it, we’ll keep it.”

Only then did Tobanya stop crying. She even took the initiative to hold Meng Zhuqing’s hand, looked at him for a long while, and then said: ”Husband, I really want to give birth to a child for you. Now that I have this opportunity, regardless of whether this child is a boy or a girl, I just want to give birth to it for you.”

Meng Zhuqing’s eyes instantly turned red. How could he not understand her? He knew everything. It was because he knew that he felt even more pain for her and didn’t want her to take risks to give him a child. He was truly afraid, afraid that something would happen to her.

Tobanya continued: ”In the future, don’t say such things anymore; I want to nurture the fetus well and give birth to the child.”

Then, Tobanya lowered her eyes, dimming her gaze, and after a long while, she said softly: ”At most, I’ll promise you, if when the time comes the child I give birth to can’t survive but I can, I won’t act rashly.”

Meng Zhuqing’s throat choked instantly, painfully so. He knew this was the biggest concession she could make right now. She was also trying very hard to reassure him.

”Okay.” With tears in his eyes, he nodded to her, choked up. His wife wanted so much to give him a child, even at the cost of her life, and he couldn’t add to his wife’s troubles anymore.

If it can be kept, then it will be kept.

He wasn’t thinking about anything else now, just hoping that his wife would have a safe delivery when the time came.

...

The next day, upon seeing Gong Juechen, Meng Zhuqing immediately told him that they wanted to keep the child.

Since they wanted to keep the child, Gong Juechen would have to wait until Tobanya gave birth before returning to Slayer Tower, so Gong Juechen wrote a letter to Ye Zhi, asking her to bring Gong Le and Su Yixing to the Imperial City.

Now Tobanya was nearly three months pregnant, and Gong Juechen estimated he would have to stay in the Imperial City for eight months.

Eight months, how could he be here alone?

Plus, Ye Zhi had told him that if he didn’t return in ten days, she would bring Gong Le to find him. Now it was just bringing one more Su Yixing, so Gong Juechen didn’t see any problem.

A month later, Ye Zhi finally arrived in the Imperial City with Gong Le and Su Yixing.

An Jing had already been informed by Gong Juechen in advance that Ye Zhi would likely arrive that day, so early in the morning, An Jing and Gong Juechen eagerly waited at the gates of the Imperial City.

At a quarter past noon, the carriage carrying Ye Zhi finally arrived at the gates of the Imperial Capital.

Gong Juechen couldn’t wait for the carriage to reach him before he noticed that the carriage driver was someone from his building, and he immediately ran over happily, loudly calling out to the people inside: ”Zhizhi~ Lele~”

Upon hearing Gong Juechen’s voice, Ye Zhi, holding little baby Gong Le inside the carriage, hadn’t even had time to react before Su Yixing lifted the carriage curtain, stuck his head out, and complained to Gong Juechen with mock annoyance: ”Master, you’re only thinking about Mistress and Lele, not even calling for me, despite you asking me to come.”

”You’re a boy; there’s nothing for me to worry about.” Gong Juechen grinned cheekily, with no serious demeanor.
