Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 1757: Chapter 1758: I’m Afraid He’ll Regret It Later

Two months later, An Jing and Xiao Changyi were informed by Su Chengyu that they could move to the Imperial City.

The relocation of the royal and imperial families took about half a month before everyone truly set out from the Imperial Capital to the Imperial City.

As the journey was long and involved many people and horses, it took a full three months for An Jing and their group to reach the new capital city - the Imperial City.

On arriving in the Imperial City, it happened to be September 15th, the second birthday of the three beautiful babies.

The new Imperial City was remodeled to resemble the layout of the Imperial Capital, with the Imperial Palace and the Royal Palace identical except for the plaques, equally large, equally majestic and equally grandiose.

Because of the birthday of her youngest three sons, as soon as they arrived at the Royal Palace, An Jing first went to the kitchen and made three bowls of longevity noodles for An Yiqi, An Yilin, and An Yizhi to eat.

The three little fellows could now walk without wobbling and could speak quite a bit.

Although they were living in the new Royal Palace, Xiao Changyi still did not attend court, using the excuse of needing long-term recuperation.

The ministers were accustomed to Xiao Changyi not attending court, and given that Su Chengyu, this Emperor, could manage state affairs well, and even if there was a problem, Xiao Changyi as King would undoubtedly step in, thus the ministers never discussed Xiao Changyi’s absence from court.

In the blink of an eye, An Jing and Xiao Changyi had been in the Imperial City for five days. On this day, An Jing and Xiao Changyi received a letter written by Su Yixing.

As for the letter, it was delivered by someone from Slayer Tower. Naturally, the person was masked, almost mistaken by the guards as an assassin.

Her son’s letter brought An Jing great joy, and she eagerly opened it to read, finding it amusing: ”He really is too fond of treasures; his letter mentions nothing but treasures.”

In the letter, Su Yixing wrote that he was living well at Slayer Tower, where there were many treasures, and he had already asked Gong Juechen for a roomful. Moreover, Gong Juechen told him that if he agreed to take over Slayer Tower, everything, including the treasures, would be his. He was very tempted and wanted to agree.

The letter rambled on about treasures, but only in the last sentence did Su Yixing briefly mention missing them, missing his adoptive parents, missing his big brother, and missing his younger brothers.

Xiao Changyi seemed unsurprised upon reading the letter, commenting calmly, ”He has always liked treasures; Gong Juechen knew this and used it to lure him to Slayer Tower.”

Slayer Tower has a history spanning several hundred years, surely filled to the brim with rare and precious artifacts.

An Jing sighed and said, ”Regardless, we need to advise Star, cautioning him against rushing into decisions for treasures. Waiting until he comes of age before making a decision isn’t too late. He’s still young now, and I fear he may regret it in the future.”

”Indeed.” Xiao Changyi agreed.

Then Xiao Changyi took up the pen and wrote a letter to Su Yixing, informing him of the challenges he would face in taking over Slayer Tower, and finally advising him not to rush into agreeing to Gong Juechen’s proposal of becoming Building Master of Slayer Tower.

Once the letter was ready, Xiao Changyi handed it to the Slayer Tower messenger, who agreed to deliver it to Su Yixing.

Before leaving, the messenger also gave An Jing a letter and a stack of silver notes, asking her to pass them to Gong Juese. An Jing could easily deduce that they were from Gong Juechen for Gong Juese.

From the first meeting with Gong Juechen, An Jing knew he was a good brother.

Meanwhile, her second son seemed to have been fond of valuable things since birth.
