Chapter 1776: Chapter 1777: You Must Be Mentally Prepared

Upon seeing the imperial physician rushing over, Meng Zhuqing instructed him to examine Tobanya, to see why Tobanya suddenly suffered from incessant abdominal pain.

The physician placed a silk handkerchief over Tobanya’s wrist before daring to take her pulse.

The pulse was smooth, with a round and slippery feel.

The imperial physician carefully checked again before respectfully speaking to An Jing: ”Queen, I ask that the Crown Prince and the Third Prince wait outside.”

This meant that An Yiqing and Su Yi Jing should not stay in the room.

An Jing sensed the physician intentionally wanted An Yiqing and Su Yi Jing out of the room, implying the next discussion might not be suitable for their ears, so she asked them to leave.

But An Yiqing and Su Yi Jing were reluctant to leave, ”We want to stay here.”

An Jing said, ”Do you want your foster mother to recover or not? If you do, then quickly go outside!”

Only then did An Yiqing and Su Yi Jing hastily leave.

With no men in the room, the physician asked Tobanya, ”When was the last time the Commandery Princess had her monthly period?”

Upon hearing this, An Jing was initially stunned, then somewhat understood, and looked incredulously at Tobanya.

Meng Zhuqing, seeing Tobanya sweating coldly from pain without noticing anything wrong with the physician’s question, stood by the bedside intensely worried, clueless about what to do.

Tobanya didn’t notice An Jing’s odd behavior, and was only surprised how the physician knew about her lack of menstruation. But this fact was difficult to speak of, though considering her abdomen’s painful deathly state, the physician’s inquiry likely related to her severe pain, so despite the difficulty, she replied, ”My period hasn’t come for over two months.”

”That explains it.” The physician nodded. ”The Commandery Princess’s severe abdominal pain is not illness but is due to fetal movement; the Commandery Princess should be pregnant for about two months.”

Fetal movement?

Pregnant?

An Jing had already sensed something wrong earlier, now she was nothing but happy, just happy.

Tobanya and Meng Zhuqing were both incredulous.

Bear in mind, Tobanya had once been trampled by a horse on her abdomen, suffering severe injury, and Gong Juechen had stated her chances of conceiving were extremely slim.

”I... am I really pregnant?” Tobanya rarely pointed at herself dumbfounded, asking the physician.

The physician replied, ”Yes, the Commandery Princess’s pulse is slippery, definitely pregnant, and according to what the Commandery Princess said about not having her period for over two months, she should be over two months along.”

Tobanya laughed, and while laughing, she started crying. She turned her head, looking at Meng Zhuqing, both laughing and crying, saying out loud: ”Husband, I’m pregnant... I’m pregnant...”

Although Meng Zhuqing did not cry, his eyes turned red. He kept nodding towards Tobanya, choked up, repeatedly saying: ”Yes, you’re pregnant. You’re pregnant.”

”However, the Commandery Princess...” The physician showed no sign of happiness, his expression rather serious.

An Jing felt strange, with a hint of bad foreboding: ”Doctor Wu, speak up, don’t keep us anxious like this.”

”Yes, Queen.” Doctor Wu first bowed respectfully to An Jing, then spoke frankly, ”Princess Yao is experiencing fetal movement, but the pulse is extremely unstable, likely related to the Commandery Princess’s previous abdominal injury; this child... has a very slim chance of survival, I hope Princess Yao and the Marquis are prepared mentally.”

An Jing was stunned.

Meng Zhuqing was initially stunned, then filled with mixed emotions. It seemed he was destined not to have his own child in this life with his wife.
