Chapter 1756: Chapter 1757: Don’t Thank Me Yet—I Have Conditions

Paused for a moment, An Yiyun continued, ”If Father and Mother don’t agree, it would be truly unfair to Big Brother. Father and Mother have consented to Second Brother following Uncle Juechen to our hometown to study medicine and have also allowed me to pursue the path of the imperial exams.”

Su Chengyu found it difficult to make a decision and simply looked at Xiao Changyi: ”Brother Yi, what do you think about this...”

Xiao Changyi gazed deeply at his eldest son before saying in an emotionless tone, ”You may stand. We have agreed to it.”

”Husband!” An Jing was incredulous. Her husband had actually agreed.

Xiao Changyi gave her a reassuring look to remain calm.

Only then did An Jing stop speaking.

”Thank you, Father, thank you, Mother!” Su Yi Jing stood up, and for once, there was a smile on his face.

”Don’t be in such a hurry to thank me; I have conditions,” Xiao Changyi picked up the tea beside him and took a slow sip.

Su Yi Jing was momentarily stunned, then hurriedly asked, ”What are your conditions, Father?”

”You can only join the army in two years. During these two years, follow me closely; I will personally teach you some things.” Pausing, Xiao Changyi added, ”Things that will be useful in the military camp.”

Su Yi Jing initially thought his father was deliberately delaying him by two years just to make him enter the army camp later, but when he heard it was things useful in the military camp, he immediately agreed: ”Then I will enter the military camp in two years!”

An Jing immediately let out a sigh of relief. Her husband indeed had a way. Honestly, she would not have been at ease letting her son enter the military camp just like that.

Su Chengyu laughed and said, ”With Brother Yi personally teaching, I’m sure Jing’er will grow into something great in the future.”

Then, Su Chengyu turned to An Yiqing: ”Qinger, your Big Brother is going to the military camp, your Second Brother is going to study medicine, your Fourth Brother is taking the path of the imperial exams, what about you? Haven’t you thought about what you want to do?”

An Yiqing grinned cheekily: ”Does eating, drinking, and having fun count? I just want to eat, drink, and have fun~”

”Hahaha...” Su Chengyu burst into laughter.

An Jing also laughed.

Xiao Changyi’s lips curled slightly.

”By the way, Brother Yi’s sister-in-law,” Su Chengyu suddenly recalled something, quickly stopping his laughter, ”The Royal Palace and Imperial Palace in the Imperial City are almost finished. In another month or two, we should be able to start moving there.”

Back then, it was on the day Xiao Changyi entered the palace to discuss the relocation of the capital that An Jing fell into the trap of Dongfang Tianyang’s men and was kidnapped.

Although An Jing was kidnapped, the relocation of the capital continued.

However, because Xiao Changyi was traveling everywhere searching for An Jing, the task of handling the relocation did not trouble Xiao Changyi anymore. Instead, Su Chengyu, the Emperor, discussed it with some ministers. Seeing no issues, it was settled.

Currently, the capital they reside in is still called Imperial Capital, without a name change.

But their future capital, originally a city under Chilin, was called Bahe City. Now, Xiyun includes the lands of the original Chilin, Dongqing, and Beihe kingdoms, together with Xiyun’s original territory. Bahe City sits almost in the central position, hence it was chosen as the new capital.

And when Bahe City started constructing the Royal Palace and Imperial Palace in the latter half of last year, it was renamed the Imperial City.

As for the mansion of King of Xiyun, it received a more formal title, called the Royal Palace, comparable to the Imperial Palace.

An Jing also knew the relocation was imperative. The current Imperial Capital is far too peripheral on Xiyun’s map, so hearing Su Chengyu’s words, she smiled and said, ”Once everything is in order, let us know, and we will move together with you.”
