COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“In the end, my operation failed. Then loser has to leave,” Tsukishiro smiled as if he was mocking himself.

Hachiman already knew what he was trying to say.

“You have actually completed the mission very smoothly, haven’t you? Even if you withdraw here, it is also part of the plan, isn’t it?”

“Haha...” Tsukishiro smiled a bit genuinely, “It seems you can see it clearly too. Indeed, the mission I accepted is not as simple as it seems. Ayanokoji-kun is Masterpiece of White Room. He is also the only son of that master. Originally, Ayanokoji was a child created by that adult to show his trust in White Room, he was sent while still in swaddling clothes. Although it may seem like a show, and that adult didn’t hold out hope.”

“But Ayanokoji Kiyotaka fought his way out. From the age of two, he showed a different way of thinking from ordinary children. And now, as you know, Ayanokoji-kun has become Masterpiece of White Room. But as the only completed product, he secretly ran away, which also caused a series of problems.”

“But the biggest problem is that although Ayanokoji-kun is only completed product, he has a flaw.”

“No emotion. So at first, that adult just wanted to take him back, but now he is considering testing whether he can make up for Ayanokoji-kun’s defect.”

That’s why people like Tsukishiro started to slack off after receiving tasks.

“This goal is difficult and may not be completed. But my part has been done. So I’ll be leaving next month. But that master only has Ayanokoji-kun as his bloodline, who is White Room’s most successful work. In the end, he will definitely become the successor and inherit goal that master failed to achieve.”

“So...” Tsukishiro directly stood up, “That’s about all I wanted to say. I feel that we have been getting along very well during this period. I look forward to your future development and hope that we can meet again, Hikigaya-kun.”

He said this, smiled and turned away.

Hikigaya-kun, on other hand, remained seated, just took a sip of his drink.

Tsukishiro is an adult now. His words just now revealed some information and also some expectations.

The White Room was built, and then for show, Ayanokoji’s father ”created” Ayanokoji.

This wording shows that relationship between father and son is very weak.

Hachiman’s understanding of his father has long been that he is terrifying, unscrupulous, profit-oriented, and cruel.

So even though he heard this, didn’t feel too upset.

’What needs more attention is that even with such a father-son relationship, Tsukishiro expected that Ayanokoji would still not be able to escape the control of his father. The reason why he hasn’t been forced to drop out of school is not because Ayanokoji is strong enough, but because that guy still wants him to stay in school to see if he can make up for his product’s flaws. Then probability of returning to White Room in the end is very high...’

’In fact, the reason has been explained. Because of uninhabited island exam, Hosen was expelled from school and was used as a scapegoat for Yagami by Tsukishiro. There wasn’t even a chance to explain. It was entirely possible that he wanted to frame Ayanokoji Kiyotaka at that time. Even if there is an alibi, there is no way to defend oneself. The level is different.’

’Since Taskmaster was able to arrange Tsukishiro to be Acting chairman of Advanced Nurturing High School, it would be easy for him to expel Ayanokoji from school illegally. Then there was what Tsukishiro had just said. While saying that Ayanokoji cannot refuse and will act according to his father’s expectations, Tsukishiro hopes that we can meet again in the future...Is this paving the way for him?’

’Should I help Ayanokoji eliminate the flaws? Or should I give him some advice, since his future will definitely not be easy, so I should establish a good relationship with him first?’

’Ayanokoji’s shortcoming is that he has no emotions. This kind of thing can’t be solved. So is it possible to understand that he will definitely have some development in the future, and then contacting him may be a win-win situation for both parties?’

’Hello, hello, hello. Although graduating from this school will give you a good life, and you may even be able to move up. It seems that Acting chairman is overestimating me!’

Because Hikigaya-kun just wants to be a househusband.

Being a househusband who doesn’t work can’t help Ayanokoji in any way.

Because he doesn’t have much ambition, Hikigaya-kun was a little shaken by the attack from junior Amasawa, but because of Tsukishiro’s paving and overestimation, he suddenly felt that his ambition was just to be a househusband.

’So no matter who the object is, as long as you can support me, isn’t it enough? Why do I have to be nervous about who the object is?’

So he found his true self. The tension was unexpectedly relieved.

Hikigaya-kun went to play with his current classmates. The next night went to the theatre to watch a play.

It ended at half past nine and told the story of Icarus’s Wings of Freedom.

The occupancy rate tonight was only 10%, but in the audience, Hachiman noticed that Ayanokoji-kun was also there.

He seems to be pursuing freedom, but unfortunately, he probably won’t be able to break free from his father’s cage. But it doesn’t mean there is no hope at all.

Because there is another way.

That is to defeat magic with magic, absorb the opponent’s power, and then grow up yourself.

Then turn around and defeat the opponent.

Thinking of this, Hachiman suddenly understood why father wanted to perfect Ayanokoji’s emotional flaws.

’Because if we just hand over the power to Ayanokoji like this, there will definitely be backlash. Because if you use the tool man theory and your power is taken away, then you will be useless and can be directly ignored or disposed of. How horrible this is! So emotions can become a shackle. But for Taskmaster, it feels even more dangerous!’ Hikigaya-kun thought to himself.

The performance ended quickly and students left one after another.

Hachiman was also preparing to leave like other students.

Just as he was about to get up, he found a tall girl walking towards him.

Hachiman was sitting and other girl was standing. Her legs were very long, so he could see under her skirt right away, right?

“There are safety pants inside.”

’Is that so? But when someone almost saw your skirt, this was your reaction. Doesn’t Kamuro-san have any sense of shame?’

But it was too rude to keep the view while sitting, so Hachiman stood up, “Is Sakayanagi looking for me?”

“She was watching the play here just now in the front row. I did invite you, but it seems that you are a little dissatisfied with the play ending so early....”

“My family is just average, and I rarely get to appreciate these things, so I became fascinated by them all of a sudden.”

’Is that so? But if you marry Sakayanagi, there will probably be endless drama to watch. Because this ship belongs to her family!’

But she didn’t dare say such words.

Because Arisu still has a girlish heart, if you directly reveal her feelings, Kamuro-san will definitely be punished by her owner.

“Then let Sakayanagi go up and play a song. Although play is over, piano is still there, so let her show off her skills.”

“Sakayanagi can play the piano?”

“She thinks she’s a genius, so doesn’t that mean girl has to know everything?” Kamuro-san said with some dissatisfaction.

“I think I heard someone questioning me.” At this time, a silver-haired girl with a cane came over, “Is that you, Kamuro-san?”

Even in the night scene, Sakayanagi’s silver hair is quite eye-catching.

Her delicate face looked dazzling in the dim light. What is most attractive is her clear pupils.

After not seeing you for five days, Sakayanagi is still the same, so cute.

“…..” Although Kamuro-san is usually enslaved by Sakayanagi, it can be seen that she is still somewhat unruly.

It’s just that Hachiman and Kamuro-san are not in the same class, otherwise he might be as interested in training girl like Sakayanagi.
