COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“I see. I thought you felt that other classes were difficult to command, and now you want to declare your strength to your own class.”

“Hikigaya-senpai really understands me,” Ichika seemed to smile now, she was getting bored after all, “Indeed, I only choose to act in my own class to declare that I am irreplaceable. This is a school where strength is paramount. If you want to live happily here, spend a happy high school time. Then, of course, you have to make sure you won’t be expelled. Unless students in my class have given up on graduating from A, I will not be put on list of expulsions in any case by those people who have no face, and never interacts in class.”

Then you really don’t hide it.

You know, there are still some students from Class A present here.

Hachiman saw a tall boy with his hair tied in a single bun, and he couldn’t help but look over when he heard Ichika’s remarks.

Boy is really high-profile.

Hachiman also understood why Ichika came to him. He is vice president of student council.

’The previous class representative of first-year A was Yukinoshita, and now Amasawa is behaving like she wants to take back sovereignty. So by deliberately arranging Yukinoshita’s actions, does that mean that she has succeeded in seizing power? Generally speaking, this can be understood.....’

However, Hachiman felt that maybe there was something in it.

It’s a rare opportunity to come to Class A, Grade 1. Just cooperate a little.

“President Sakayanagi has decided to promote you to position of official executive of Student Council. She will have a private discussion with you later.” by Vice President Hikigaya-kun

“Then, thank you for your suggestion, Mr. Vice President. Please take care of me in the future.”

As two of them acted like this, boy with chubby hair who had just looked over turned around.

It is tacitly acknowledged that Amasawa Ichika is now at peak of her high school career.

“By the way, do you have enough written test scores? My class still needs some +10 points bonus.”

As a student in Ryuen’s class, Hikigaya can’t just sit there and do nothing.

So, have to help canvass votes.

The fact that Ryuen was willing to give written test +5 point reward to Ike shows that Ryuen wanted to block written test +10 point reward.

Then at least students in class need to get 25 written test tickets + 10 points reward.

But scanning code is like winning a prize. Not all students in your class can scan it.

Some will also be obtained from other classes. A trade has to be made.

This is also the reason why Hachiman feels that he will not be able to make money by staying in class for exam this time.

The academic ability of first-year students this year is stronger than that of Hachiman’s class.

The gap between four classes is not that big.

At same time, there are five or six students with academic ability of C- in Class A.

Therefore, if rewards were offered for written test scores, Amasawa and others wouldn’t need so much.

“My class only needs 6. We have issued 11.”

“But.” At this time, student Yukinoshita, who had just been concentrating, interrupted, “There are still 3 written test + 5 points rewards left to be claimed, and 2 written test + 10 points rewards.”

The screen of her phone went dark.

Obviously, students in her class have completed the task, basically finished scanning the code, doesn’t need to answer.

“For a written test with all subjects +5 points, we sell it for 200,000 yen per copy, and for a written test with all subjects +10 points, we sell it for 400,000 yen per copy.” Even talking with Yukinoshita is very expensive.

“I’ll give you the contact information of Shiina from my class. You two can discuss this in detail.”

Then he took Ibuki and left.

But he looked at think tank group he had joined on his phone.

“By the way, did you guys have any trouble solving the questions?” Hikigaya-kun sent a message.

The think tank consists of three students, all of whom are from Ichinose’s class, and Hachiman only knows Kanzaki among them.

The members are only responsible for 30 questions.

Now they have solved about 20.

Kanzaki-kun: There are four questions that cannot be solved, and I have already sent them to Ichinose and others.

“So is there any content that is beyond the syllabus? For example, it’s not for our grade.”

Mr. Kanzaki: The content scanned by students from our two classes has not been beyond the syllabus so far. The second-year students have scanned content they may encounter in exam.

Kanzaki-kun: Mobile phones can also scan QR codes, but the school asked us to use tablets. I think they took our different academic abilities into consideration.

Kanzaki is typing: We scanned with a tablet. Because it’s linked to our grade information, questions in test bank we extracted will be specified and will not exceed the syllabus. Otherwise, if we encounter a third-grade question, we will basically have no way to solve it.

Kanzaki must have considered issue of whether questions drawn from the bank would be beyond the syllabus, so he was relieved to find there was no such pressure in practice.

Hikigaya-kun was thinking as he looked at his reply.

’Obviously, Amasawa was not telling the truth. Their class is not just completing QR code scanned by students in her own. She also took extra orders from senior grades. In other words, after Amasawa entered school, she started to be a bad girl because of her status as a white-collar student, but now, her desire to make money suddenly increased.....’

Hikigaya-kun felt the pressure.

“What took you so long?”

Hachiman walked to entrance of the theater and Ibuki hurried over.

It was here that he was taken away by Yukinoshita just now.

Ibuki was left there by him.

“.....” Hachiman just realised she was not there with him while talking to Yukinoshita, just assumed she followed. But looking now....

This Ibuki-san is even worse at reading mood than Horikita.

“I went to negotiate a deal. I got two written test scores + 10 points reward from Class A of first grade.”

“I see…” When she heard that it was a serious matter, Ibuki felt that it was reasonable for her to be left here alone.

“I only have one chance to scan one QR code left, so I will do it later. And Ibuki, you have completed your task. You can only proceed to this point in this exam.”

“Okay.” Ibuki nodded and walked out.

“.....” Hikigaya-kun.

Whatever.

From this perspective, he still likes being with Horikita. At least when he said Suzune can go back first, girl will not leave immediately.

But where can he go next?

Going to McDonald’s? You can also order spicy wings. Or go to the library.

As he was thinking this, Hachiman discovered he had received two text messages on his phone.

[Senpai! Help, help! I was cursed!]

[Library] by Isshiki Iroha.

Now have to go to the library.

When he arrived at the library, found a notice at door prohibiting students who were not participating in scavenger hunt from entering.

There are not many students here.

So, Hachiman found her easily.

All he saw was Isshiki standing on tiptoe, as if she was trying to get a book from the upper shelf.

Hachiman appeared on opposite side of the bookshelf.

At this moment, two should have seen each other. But, Isshiki-san was still standing on tiptoe.

Hachiman walked straight over. He raised his hand to take down the book that she had just tried to pick up.

“Bahhh!” Isshiki subconsciously took two steps back.

“What’s with your reaction?” Hikigaya-senpai had already got the book and was about to hand it to her, “You are so irritating. You saw me just now, but deliberately jumped up as if you were picking up a book. You actually wanted me to help you get it down, right?”

“Well, no, that was just my natural reaction!” Isshiki defended herself using a very stubborn attitude.

Is this your usual day? However, Isshiki Iroha probably had some misunderstanding.

Her expression turned pale with shock, “Ha, so Senpai did that just now to win my favor, right? I’m sorry. Although I’m happy to have help, I’m not very good at calming down and thinking.”

“— • —” Is this considered a sudden rejection?

“• - •” Dark History +1

“What do you mean by emergency help from being cursed?”

“Actually...” Isshiki instantly showed an expression of wanting to cry but not being able to, “I haven’t gotten anything for this exam. I scanned three QR codes in a row, and rewards were all 10,000 personal points. I only have one last chance now....”

Is that so? You are also an unlucky guy. This made Hikigaya-senpai, who had awarded 10,000 points twice in a row, feel very happy.

“.....” Isshiki suddenly didn’t like the facial expression on his face.

“So, you wanted to get a good reward, so you came to me? Hmm?”

“Yeah...So, do you have a solution, my favourite Senpai?”

Boom! Favourite card just got!

“Then why don’t you discuss it with Utomiya and the others? If the class works as a team, you can get good rewards by having others scan code, and then you can claim it later.”

“Ah...Utomiya and Tsubaki Sakurako’s academic ability is not very good. They can only solve part of problem, although students in Class A also said they can trade with us. We made a deal. But it’s very ruthless. Before the answer comes out, no matter what the reward is, it costs 50,000 points at a time.....Some also charge after the answer is given, but this is more expensive, 55 000. Our class cooperated several times, but we found that we had wasted hundreds of thousands of points, so we discontinued the cooperation.”

So that’s it. No wonder Isshiki just complained she was cursed.
