COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

H10 area. Chairman Tsukishiro arrived in a very depressing mood.

He was brought here by Shiba, a muscle-head.

Tsukishiro suddenly felt overwhelmed. ’Because according to this idiot, he planned to let another White Room student lure Ayanokoji-kun here on last day of the exam. Then defeat and take him away by boat. It is a very direct and violent means. You don’t care about him dropping out according to the rules, just knock you out and take you away. Although it was very direct, I felt a headache. Because Shiba, you, an old instructor from White Room was unable to figure out adult’s intention at all! How could you?!’

The biggest headache was that before arriving here, Tsukishiro received a piece of information in his mailbox.

That was a video of Shiba inviting innocent cute looking girl Amasawa Ichika to cooperate but getting into a fight after being rejected.

“.....” Tsukishiro. ’Judging from video, this man was tricked. If that information were to be exposed, Shiba would not only lose his teaching position, but even me, Acting Chairman, the person who recommended you bastard to come over, would also be dealt with immediately! Because this is no longer considered as hiring wrong person!’

“Although, No. 2 rejected me, she seemed to have brought a camera. I think I need to deal with it. So, we have to catch her.”

“.....” But, Tsukishiro already didn’t want to talk to you anymore, even thinking about cutting ties with you!

’What the hell! Your evidence has been sent directly to my email address. So if it were to be exposed, you, Shiba, would be the first to be taken to the police station, and me, Tsukishiro would be the second! Why do you have to take initiative? If you have a plan, can’t you just mention it to me first?’

At least, now Tsukishiro has to keep Amasawa stable, give her chips.

’Therefore, this student from White Room probably cannot be brought back to....’

After eating Sukiyaki, Hachiman and the others rested for a while.

Then, set off half an hour later.

However, considering the safety issue, Ichika changed her iconic purple twin ponytails into a single. ’And since I wasn’t wearing the red sports jacket originally, I temporarily put on Kamuro-senpai’s. It looks less conspicuous. The goal is to get back to the starting point. That is the safest area. It is also an area that requires vigilance, because Shiba-sensei may set up an ambush nearby and intercept me....’

However, Hachiman felt this possibility was unlikely.

Because this time he witnessed Amasawa’s determination to pursue freedom, and she tried her best to do what she could.

The video footage shot by Amasawa Ichika was sent to Chairman Tsukishiro’s email address.

It all depends on how much Chairman can get for Amasawa.

Hachiman has always believed that Acting Chairman Tsukishiro is a very rational person who knows how to handle the situation in order to gain the greatest benefit.

’The video that Amasawa took was very shocking. To put it mildly, in school terms, it was a teacher attacking a student. Two students have already been attacked, but the perpetrators have not yet been caught. This can be attributed to Shiba’s CV today. This is knowingly breaking the law, which is a more serious crime. First of all, Shiba’s status as class teacher would be revoked, and he might even be arrested by the police. Once this happened, even Tsukishiro, as Acting chairman, would not be able to bear. Because his ability to enter the school and become head teacher of Grade 1 Class D is definitely inseparable from him. Will be held accountable. But that’s not all. Although Tsukishiro forced Chairman Sakayanagi to leave and took this position, he could not hold on to securely. Since Chairman Sakayanagi has been running the business here for many years, he must have his own faction. Even if he is not here, his team is there. Therefore, once this video falls into the hands of people from Chairman Sakayanagi’s faction, it will definitely be handled in a way that maximizes benefits....In the short term, Acting Chairman Tsukishiro will be implicated because of Shiba and may lose his position. In the long term, it may even be possible for Chairman Sakayanagi to be reposted again....Once he returns, Tsukishiro will definitely face the worst situation. Being kicked out, or even being involved in a case, or just being incompetent. Multiple negative factors broke out at the same time. He definitely doesn’t want to. So it seems that Chairman Tsukishiro was given opportunity to handle the situation rationally, but in fact he no longer had any choice....But it’s not the worst case scenario.’

Hachiman, a terrifying rational monster, sent the video to his email address in advance, which was to tell him there was still room for easing the situation and it could be handled with the least cost.

’Price is to restore Amasawa Ichika’s freedom. Because this is video she took. Therefore, if Acting Chairman Tsukishiro has made a decision, then we will not encounter any obstacles on our way back this time. Although I thought so.....’

But the two teammates around Hachiman still dressed up Amasawa Ichika and looked nervous.

’I’m used to seeing this Kouhai with twin ponytails, but she looks pretty good with a single ponytail too.’ Hikigaya-kun therefore did not offer any warning.

The four of them began to act.

The starting point is A7.

Now they are H6.

The shortest route between two points is a straight line, but it crosses a river, so we have to take a detour.

Especially now that sky has begun to overcast.

’I’m afraid it will start to rain heavily in an hour or two. We must find a way back quickly....!’

“Ding ding!”

At this time, four people received a prompt on their tablets.

[According to the weather forecast, it will rain heavily from today to tomorrow. Students who are camped near rivers and woods, please go to a safe place to camp or return to the starting point. Tomorrow’s exam will be suspended, and each student who has not given up will receive xxx points of compensation.] by school.

“H-Hikigaya-senpai!” Amasawa Ichika was staring at the tablet in a daze, “I received an extra message.”

“Can I take a look?” Hachiman asked. Generally speaking, the information students receive is sent in bulk.

But there are some exceptions.

That is, examiner used his authority to illegally contact certain individual students.

“Go ahead.” Amasawa’s mood seemed to improve instantly.

Hachiman looked over and found it was a passage.

Although it was also included in the message sent by school, it was a message specifically for Amasawa Ichika.

[I will punish you for not obeying orders. You will be expelled from White Room and will never be able to return. But I will also prepare for your stay or departure. I have your biological father’s contact information and will give it to you if you need it.

Even though you have never met, you can choose to contact each other.

But I advise you not to get your hopes up too much.

I met him once, when you were only 15, and asked him if he wanted to meet you, and he advised against it, saying that you were just a test-tube baby created by his sperm, and he had no need to give you any property.

So it’s up to you to decide whether to contact the other party.

This time you entered Advanced Nurturing School, you were given a complete household registration with your past elementary and middle school attendance information. You can continue to live with this identity, but the condition is that you are not allowed to reveal any information about White Room, and you cannot even say that you have been trained in White Room. You cannot tell anyone that you were once a White Room student. I think you should understand the price of doing this, Amasawa Ichika. I hope that day will never come when we become enemies.

And when that day comes, no matter where I am, I will not let you go.

Please do not doubt the filthiness of the adult world.]

There is no signature, but source of the message is also school.

Obviously. This should be a private message sent by Chairman Tsukishiro using his authority.

After reading this message, Hachiman breathed a sigh of relief. ’It seems that Chairman has chosen the option most beneficial to him among the interests involved. Since Amasawa did this in order to gain freedom, then grant her wish.’

Just as he was looking at the information, Hachiman discovered there were hot and wet marks on his left arm holding the tablet.

When he turned around, found that his Kouhai Amasawa was crying with big tears.

Tears fell on his arms.

“I-I am free.....”

“No, I just suddenly felt like... I wanted to cry.” Amasawa noticed her predicament, but found that she couldn’t control her emotions.

“So, t-this is w-whh...this is what-t true f-freedom l-looks like.”

“Sniffle…” a quiet, repeated sound, as if Amasawa was trying to control her crying.

But....

“Owahhhnn!!!”

She broke down.

She was ordered to study White Room’s curriculum at the age of 2.

’I started training at the age of 2 and have been following routine training all along. Then I was just like an ordinary kid, hoping to perform well and get praise. I did an excellent job, but didn’t get any good remarks. That’s not all. I found that better I did on the project, more unhappy instructors became. They often discuss things like, “It seems that our plan is still not good enough and can’t beat the control group at all. So our efforts are meaningless.” “Should we sent her to Room 127?” And at that time, I realised this was the case. I was in a control group. Others are the ones that instructors expect to succeed. So, I began to torture my emotions and mechanically learn various projects. Every time I was just a little faster and a little better than the other children, but I was about same as the best among other children, and occasionally even lost to Takuya on purpose. In this way, finally, I saw relief in instructors’ eyes. I found my balance. But I also knew that my presence was a hindrance and unnecessary in that place. I didn’t want to continue like this. Then, I heard the legend about 4th-term students, who said us, 5th-term students, were not even worthy of carrying shoes for our senpais....The difficulty of 4th batch of students is much much higher than that for our batch. Among 75 students in 4th phase, only one succeeded. One day, I could see him...but it was more of a horrifying feeling, White Room’s Masterpiece. You don’t even blink when your peer was shot, rumours about you defeating world class’s martial artists in seconds, and beat his skull into a pulp just by a baton.... Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, you have really killed people. I could only get a glimpse.... Adults said that he was so strong, no one can ever beat him...you can just try best to go close. Therefore, it is impossible to confirm whether other party has let the water go. But I know that Ayanokoji-senpai is very strong, just by meeting him that day...However, such a powerful senior actually escaped from White Room, and then as a student of the White Room, I was also selected out. Arrived at Advanced Nurturing High School. After observing Ayanokoji-senpai, I found that he was hiding and slacking off in various ways, and he didn’t stand out in the school. But even so, other party was unwilling to return to White Room.’

Why?

Amasawa Ichika knows the cruelty all too well herself.

In this Universe, Kiyotaka wasn’t ordered to stop in Volume 0 by instructors to stop using baton!
