COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

If we use a metaphor, Karuizawa is like a loyal dog, and Tsubasa isn’t much different.

As for Hirata-kun, he is quite gentle.

Previously, in written test for cross-grade team partnership, he was arranged by Hachiman as class representative, along with Ayanokoji and Yukimura, to contact Hosen.

Then, Ayanokoji was attacked.

But even after what happened, he still had some feelings for Nanase.

After all, other party was also trying hard to stop Hosen.

Although it was useless, the fact that it prevented him from doing so showed that she was not on the same side as Hosen.

Hirata-kun is also a person who is good at recognizing the atmosphere.

He has seen Nanase-chan and Hikigaya-kun walking together before, but not current atmosphere.

Nanase probably overreacted just now because she suddenly ran into Hikigaya-kun.

Hirata has experience dealing with a wide variety of students.

In other words, Tsubasa’s behavior just now actually meant that, without her knowledge, she and Hikigaya-kun had increased their contact and perhaps deepened feelings.

It would be impolite to stay here any longer.

After Hirata-kun sat down to eat, he ate without saying a word, and in less than 10 minutes, he finished his meal and left.

Make room for it.

Although he has changed from the past, still a good person at heart and certainly would not do anything to occupy someone.

“Hmm...Hirata-senpai is really a good person.” Actions naturally received Nanase’s evaluation.

Obviously, this junior is not like Ibuki who cannot read the atmosphere, but she is a student who knows how to follow the crowd.

Rather, if she didn’t have this skill, wouldn’t be able to get in touch with Hosen when he was violently ruling the class, and provide help when he was unable to make decisions.

“Don’t you have any friends?” Senior Hikigaya said mercilessly.

“Well... this...” These words made school girl look very troubled.

“If you’re talking about someone you eat with and go to bathroom with in class, then...” Nanase seemed to want to prove that she was not a loner.

“That’s not a friend. Although some people are not worth making close friends with. But it would be a pity if you keep thinking that you are doing something bad or that you will hurt the other person, and give up on socializing,” Hikigaya-senpai said very gently.

“Hmm.” Nanase was now completely convinced. Hikigaya-senpai really knows how to judge people.

She always felt that she came here with a mission, so in order to complete, contacting other students and building good relationships would only bring trouble to them.

So, she also ate alone and went to the toilet alone in class.

Always been alone. After dinner, two went to top deck of the ship together.

The night gradually darkened and stars appeared in the sky.

There were not many students on deck at this time.

’I put my hands on the railing and immediately felt the refreshing sea breeze blowing towards me.’

“Wow-----”

While looking at scenery ahead, Nanase seemed to be preparing her words and looked a little nervous, but Hikigaya-kun did not urge her.

As an experienced life counselor, he knows very well that as long as other party is willing to talk, then detailed life discussion is halfway done.

“Hikigaya-senpai, after returning from island on giving up, I have been thinking carefully....That’s plan for the rest of my life. Although now I am the only one left, it seems unfair. But, I want to continue the campus life that Eiichiro couldn’t experience.”

In other words, you have made up mind to come out.

“You actually know it, right? The real reason why you came to this school, and now you are free.”

Nanase confirmed that Hikigaya-senpai had indeed seen through her completely.

The reason why she chose to come to this school.

If she were to put it in a radical way, then if there was a chance, she would make the big bad guy Ayanokoji Atsuomi repent.

However, this was only something she could think about, and an ordinary person like her had no way of doing it.

And if there was something she could do, had accomplished it, which was to let Ayanokoji-senpai know that his freedom was bought with the lives of Matsuo and his son.

Let him know how precious his freedom is, so don’t give in to Ayanokoji Atsuomi.

But the cruelest thing is...

When Matsuo’s father committed suicide, he left a suicide note asking his son not to hate Ayanokoji Atsuomi but to live on with strength.

When Eiichiro committed suicide, he also left a suicide note.

He was very painful and could not accept the chance to live that his father had fought for him with his life, so he also chose to commit suicide, but he hoped that Nanase would not do anything stupid because of his death, and hoped that she would live healthy and safe.

So, actually, Eiichiro didn’t let her take revenge.

She herself didn’t come out.

No one is wrong in this matter, only one person is wrong and there is only one problem.

That is, Ayanokoji Atsuomi is a bad guy in the literal sense.

xxxxxx

It was exactly 7 o’clock.

Nanase felt a little embarrassed that it took so long for her to confide in her senior.

Keep apologizing.

This makes people feel that she is a sensible school girl.

Hikigaya-kun actually has three junior schoolmates, namely Yukinoshita-san, Isshiki-san, and Nanase in front of him.

It seems that you are the only one who seems to be well-behaved.

“I want to experience campus life, but the next three years will probably be hard....”

’This is what I saw after I freed myself from the sense of justice and guilt that had bound me before. That is, school is not gentle at all. The unique class competition system, coupled with the situation where five students with good academic ability are about to drop out, I think they will become more broad-shouldered in the future life.....In this way, although Hosen-kun dropped out of school, my class is still D. Then evaluation score was 0, but I had to keep going. But there is an unexpected news. That is, expulsion decisions for five first-year students in Class D who took part in uninhabited island exam have not yet been announced. They were arranged by Hikigaya-senpai....In fact, they are willing to participate. They have good academic abilities, and even if they drop out now, can still pass the exams and eventually go to the university they want. Moreover, if you are expelled from school, you will receive a cash subsidy worth 2 million yen. I dare not even think about such a good thing.....’

There was some delay in this matter.

Normally, procedure would be carried out immediately after the exam, but these five students were still stranded on the ship.

They were notified to return to school with other students at that time, and would be expelled immediately.

Of course, that doesn’t mean there is no solution at all.

Hosen, who was one of the candidates who dropped out of uninhabited island exam, was different from them.

After he was announced to be expelled from school, Chairman of the board directly dispatched a helicopter to take Hosen’s homeroom teacher Shiba with him, and then took him back to school to process his expulsion.

In other words, they wanted to make Hosen’s attack a solid case, leaving no chance of turning the tables.

So this is a disguised way of protection.  This result failed to imagine Chairman’s acting role.

Hachiman ignored the message he was sent for moment and looked at that had just informed Asahina-senpai of her location.

The other party has already responded.

[Are you on the top floor of the ship now? Then there is no need to come down. I will go up. Remember, do not come down.] by Asahina-sempai.

???

Hachiman felt that other party’s message revealed that she was in a good mood.

However, he still had the point card as a reward for this exam to give to the other party, so waited quietly for girl to arrive.

Hachiman then placed his hands on the guardrail and looked out.

But it happened quickly.

“Guess who I am?”

When he heard footsteps behind him, Hikigaya-kun felt that his eyes were blocked by someone, and the scent of a girl also wafted over.

As a guy who has a girlfriend who likes to wear various types of perfume, Hikigaya-kun immediately recognized that she was using jasmine perfume.

The price is about 3200 points.

It’s neither cheap nor expensive, but smells great, so it’s very popular among girls.

Hachiman thinks that Kushida-chan probably wants him to give her a gift.

’Now someone has covered my eyes and asked me to play a guessing game?’

“Is that Kiryuin-senpai?”

”No! Obviously, Hikigaya-kun already knows it’s me! So mean!”

The girl who had covered Hachiman’s eyes let go of her hand.

At the same time, she also walked to the guardrail and leaned part of her body against it, “I’m surprised that Hikigaya-kun knows about Kiryuin-san. Did you become close to her during the deserted island exam?”

This is a girl with beautiful long orange hair.

She has regular facial features and a beautiful appearance.

There is a sunflower hairpin pinned on the left side of her hair.

Asahina Nazuna, Leader of 3-A.

’This senior looked bright and beautiful when I first met her. And now, she was wearing her own private clothes, a light blue lady’s dress, which made people feel quite stunning, and her facial features seemed to have been carefully dressed up.....She is already very pretty, and with such delicate makeup, if I had to describe it, seems to be 30% more beautiful. Horrible.Girls are so scary, dressing up can actually improve their appearance by 30%.....!’

Hikigaya-kun felt a surge of emotion.

“I met Kiryuin-senpai twice during exam on the uninhabited island,” Hikigaya-kun was still very frank about saying truth, “And I got some information from her.”

Intelligence. Although 3rd-year students did not get any points in this exam. But no one dropped out.

They also heard about an attack on a second grade student.

But after hearing about it, found out that second grader had already taken care of it himself.

This execution ability is somewhat enviable. Of course, third graders in the past could do it, but they can no longer do it now.

Because Nagumo has dropped out of school.

3rd graders are now in a state of wild growth and self-competition.

Hikigaya-kun was talking about serious matters.

“Today’s moon... well, the stars are so beautiful,” Asahina-senpai said, trying to change the subject.

The sky did begin to darken, and more and more stars appeared. Of course, the most dazzling one was the full moon hanging in sky.

Hachiman now also thought that compared to stars, moonlight today was really beautiful.

“Before, I had to rest and replenish my energy on the island, and then wait for next day to check in and score points in designated area, so even though I came to such an open place, I didn’t have much time to enjoy the moon. So if it wasn’t for Asahina-senpai’s reminder, I would have missed opportunity to enjoy the moon today.”

“Yeah,” Look, Asahina-senpai’s mood seemed to improve all of a sudden, “I think so, too.”

“Well, here’s the points card for you,” Hachiman took out from his pocket, “I have received all the points, and this part is agreed upon with Senpai, who arranged for me to ride with 33 people and add 33 sets of Hitchhiking cards, which paid 200,000 points per set. The points are all here, senior, you can check them directly.”

“.....” Asahina realised he had interpreted her words in a wrong way, and thought reason might be to ask for money.

The senior now seemed to be stunned for a moment on what to respond.

Even Asahina probably didn’t expect that junior would discuss business matters with her directly in this place.

However, after the exam was over, although her classmates did not immediately ask her for points they had promised, she still had to fulfill the bill.

So, took the point card.

“Drop!”

“The limit of this point card is 6.6 mlion personal points. Do you want to withdraw it?”

”Withdraw!”

However, Asahina did not take all of it, but only 2.31 million.

“Since all the prop cards have been handed over to me, all I need to do to add the xxxxx prop cards and additional cards is to arrange someone to act as the carrier. The price I offered is 70,000 per person, so in the end you only have to pay 2.31 million....”

But Hachiman felt there was no need for senior to tell him how many points she could get from it. ’And she described it in such detail... I suddenly understood why she wanted to meet me on purpose. Really?....sigh’

“Actually, I got a total of 1.7 million from selling item cards this time. Because they came into my hands and I resold them. But after all, it was you, Hikigaya-kun, who coordinated the acquisition of item cards, so I have to give you these points,” In fact, Asahina was one ready to pay Hachiman on spot.

In other words, public matters are public and private matters are private, and she wanted to prove that she did not take a penny more.

“I have already handed you the item card. How much benefit you can get from it is also up to you. So I can’t accept this 1.7 million yen income, Asahina-senpai.”

They say it cannot be collected, but in fact they also feel there is no need to collect it.

Because he was very satisfied with the amount of points he got in this exam.

Now, more than one million points means that he does nothing and can get results of each class every month.

He directly took away third-grade prop cards, but these originally belonged to 3rd year students themselves.

Giving the prop card to Asahina intentionally can be considered as giving her some extra money, and then letting her work hard this time, so that if her help is needed next time, it will be easier to get her cooperation.

At the same time, it can be considered as returning a favor.

When it comes to making money, once you find someone to collaborate with, it’s easy to form a new interest group.

Because of Nagumo’s departure, 3rd grade will definitely fall apart, and even his own class may have problems.

However, there are still some measures to save the situation, like sale of prop cards this time, which tied 3rd-grade Class A together and also made students of Class D turn towards Asahina and others.

Therefore, this is a new interest relationship built in addition to the last few foundational relationships left by Nagumo.

And this way, Asahina will be able to help more in the future.

So this is just the initial investment, which is like playing long game to catch a big fish.

This is also the reason why Hachiman told Karuizawa today that even if he is no longer in the class and evaluation score drops in the future, he will still give her monthly living expenses.

If you want to arrange people to do work, have to do a good job of maintenance on a regular basis.

The fact that she was able to reveal some things that didn’t need to be revealed also shows that Asahina is trustworthy.

So overall, Hikigaya-kun is actually quite satisfied.

“But I can’t take it either,” However, this senior shook her head, “You have already given me enough points.”

6.6 million minus cost of 2.31 million, there is still more than 4 million left.

This is more than 4 million!
