Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 300: Chapter 256: Transmitting Hand Cards - Complex Transmission Function_2

What she said is indeed correct.

Whether it’s Li Wenxi, Ji Chaoyang, or Qi Xuefei, none of them show light dots on the map like Keke. Only Lou Fei’Er shows a green light dot, indicating she is an ally, just like Silver King, Mimi, Afu, and Consort.

If you want to be precise, it really is as she said, only she is confirmed as an ally.

However, Xu Xin feels he can’t entirely trust the map’s ability to differentiate between enemies and allies, especially when it comes to survivors. Previously, both Lou Fei’Er, who wanted to kill him, and Ma Hongyu, who showed sheer malice, didn’t display any light dots, indicating they were in a neutral stance.

Survivors, since they don’t naturally belong to this world, are definitely unique.

Still, Xu Xin thinks he ought to make a hand sign for Lou Fei’Er, as he will need her tomorrow to deal with Ma Hongwei. For that, a hand sign specifically for her is necessary.

He made a hand sign engraved with Lou Fei’Er’s name and handed it to her.

”Oh? Is this for me?” Lou Fei’Er, initially sulking, eased up upon seeing Xu Xin hand over the token and quickly accepted it.

”Teleportation hand sign?” Lou Fei’Er saw the description of the token and immediately looked excited, ”It even has my name on it! With this hand sign, I can use the Teleportation Array?”

She looked up, gripping the token tightly, gazing at Xu Xin with a somewhat moved expression, which made one feel she was genuinely touched, pure and adorable.

Xu Xin: ”...”

So this woman’s at it again.

He lifted his left hand slightly, and Lou Fei’Er shivered immediately, gave a sheepish laugh, and then resumed her usual tone, ”So now I can truly use the Teleportation Array? I want to try it now.”

”You can, you can give it a try, see if you can teleport to Li Wenxi’s side,” Xu Xin nodded, agreeing to her request.

He wanted to verify the information revealed by the hand sign’s introduction.

[You can only use existing destination coordinates for teleportation, unable to change coordinate attributes]

What does this mean?

Lou Fei’Er was already reaching out to touch the metal pillar at the coordinates.

”Eh? What’s going on?” She was puzzled, touched it twice more, and then turned to Xu Xin, ”I can’t teleport; it prompts me that the coordinate has no set teleportation point, and I can’t teleport.”

So that’s how it is?

Xu Xin had basically understood how to use the coordinates.

Just now, when he connected the coordinates between him and Li Wenxi, all the purple energy concentrated on this one pillar, tantamount to setting this metal pillar’s teleportation target to his side of the coordinates.

There are five pillars in total for the coordinates, meaning one coordinate could potentially set five targets simultaneously, needing the maker of the coordinates—himself—to set them personally.

Xu Xin immediately touched another metal pillar, and a prompt sounded again.

[Detected another coordinate ”Li Wenxi’s Treehouse” 23 kilometers away, connect?]

Xu Xin chose yes and stepped back two steps.

Sure enough, just as he had anticipated, all the purple energy started converging on this one metal pillar. Then, in front of this metal pillar, a purple-black vortex appeared once more.

”Is this the teleportation door? Can only you summon this teleportation door?” Lou Fei’Er seemed surprised but didn’t mind, as she wasn’t planning on running around anyway.

”No, now you should be able to summon it.” He bypassed the purple-black vortex, looking at the metal pillar.

Sure enough, on the bright silver metal pillar, a vertical line of purple-black text appeared.

[Li Wenxi’s Treehouse]

This metal pillar was already connected to Li Wenxi’s Treehouse.

Judging from the previous operation, this kind of connection is one-way, meaning although he connected this place using Li Wenxi’s Treehouse, it only allows one-way passage from there, and doesn’t occupy this metal pillar, so the teleportation door’s exit appears directly above the entire coordinate.

But if he wants to go back, he needs to use a pillar on his end, designating its exit to the coordinate of ”Li Wenxi’s Treehouse” to reestablish the teleportation channel.

Xu Xin reached out to touch the metal pillar maintaining the teleportation door.

[Close teleportation door?]

It can be closed manually indeed.

Xu Xin immediately chose to close it.

The purple-black vortex immediately sped up its rotation, and shrank dramatically, retracting back into the five metal pillars within seconds.

”Alright, you can try now to see if you can activate the teleportation door.” Xu Xin said to Lou Fei’Er, who was standing by and watching his series of operations with wide eyes.

”Oh, okay!” Lou Fei’Er stepped forward and looked at the pillar still labeled ”Li Wenxi’s Treehouse,” blinked without touching it, then touched another pillar.

Nothing happened as a result.

”What’s the prompt telling you?” Xu Xin asked, as a pillar with no setting should remain inoperative.

”Um... still indicates no set teleportation point.” Lou Fei’Er retracted her hand and reached out to the activated pillar.

This time, the coordinate responded, and the purple-black energy gathered again on the pillar.

Lou Fei’Er took two steps back, and a two-meter-tall vortex appeared in front of her.

”I really can activate the teleportation door now!” She glanced at the teleportation hand sign in her hand, fearing Xu Xin might take it back, and quickly tucked it into her bag.

Xu Xin nodded. As long as he sets the target, those possessing green-level hand signs can activate the teleportation door for use.

That said, is there a possibility to create a higher-level hand sign, perhaps a blue-level one?

If so, could those with blue-level hand signs possibly set their own teleportation targets?

However, he currently doesn’t have any blue-level metal at hand and needs to find Li Wenxi to acquire some.

”Alright, you can go back now.” Xu Xin had acquired the information he sought and gestured to Lou Fei’Er to indicate that she could return to the treehouse.

”Humph, using and discarding.” Lou Fei’Er murmured softly, unable to defy Xu Xin’s words and turned towards the treehouse. Nevertheless, thinking that tomorrow she could experience the thrill of spatial transfer using the teleportation array brightened her mood quite a bit.

In the future, perhaps she could sneak over to communicate emotions with Li Wenxi?

Maybe then, with a bit of effort, she could fit Xu Xin with a hat of some color?

Hehe...

Xu Xin, unable to perceive Lou Fei’Er’s myriad thoughts, reached out to touch the teleportation pillar.

The world spun, the feeling of weightlessness from free fall ensued, followed by his feet touching solid ground once more.

This time, as he was somewhat prepared, the discomfort was slightly alleviated although still a bit unsteady, as he had just experienced teleportation twice, akin to doing two consecutive bungee jumps—indeed quite stimulating.

”Ah! You finally came back!” Li Wenxi was right at the coordinates, saw Xu Xin being a bit unsteady, and hurried over to support him, ”What happened? Why can’t you stand firm? Are you alright? Let me take you to rest upstairs!”

”No need.” Xu Xin waved his hand, handing the teleportation hand sign to Li Wenxi, ”With this hand sign, you can conduct teleportation.”

”Hand sign? Oh, it even has my name and my little avatar on it!” Li Wenxi exclaimed excitedly looking at the iron sign.

She was genuinely thrilled, unlike Lou Fei’Er.

Glancing at the vortex still slowly rotating behind her, Xu Xin’s lips curved into a smile.

Finally, the coordinates can be put into use!
