Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 269: Chapter 236: So They’re Not the Same Type of Artist!_2

”No.” Qi Xuefei shook her head, ”I had the group from ’Healer’s Aid’ try it before. Even with petri dishes and fertilizer, they couldn’t accelerate the growth. Only I can do it.”

”I see...” Ji Chaoyang stood up and rubbed his chin, ”Only you can? What about the parasitic tree house...”

”The parasitic tree house works too!” Li Wenxi interjected, ”We just tried it at the tree house, and it indeed can be accelerated. But we’re not sure if it’s because Sister Xuefei was there, so we decided to leave and check back later.”

”Yes, that’s true.” Qi Xuefei nodded, ”Perhaps it has something to do with the tree house’s abilities.”

She walked over to another door on the third floor and pushed it open, ”This is my medical room, dedicated to research and pharmaceuticals.”

The medical room was just a small 20-square-meter room, but it was filled with equipment. As soon as Xu Xin entered, he thought he had walked into a chemistry lab.

”These devices look so advanced...” Li Wenxi wanted to touch them, but recoiled several times, always feeling these sophisticated devices were fragile.

”These are my research and pharmaceutical equipment.”

”...They look really complex. We probably can’t use them, right?” Xu Xin had no desire to understand these devices since he couldn’t use them anyway.

”Even if you could use them, you wouldn’t know how,” Qi Xuefei pointed to her head, ”Besides my own knowledge, I also gained some when I acquired the Medic King ability, allowing me to use this equipment proficiently.”

Oh? It’s similar to his artist ability. When he gained his artist ability, his mind was flooded with knowledge about sculpting and painting.

”By the way, there’s a limit of ten pieces for green-level sculptures or paintings in a tree house. You know that, right?” Xu Xin asked Ji Chaoyang.

Ji Chaoyang was stunned for a moment: ”...The limit is ten, I know that, but sculpting? You can sculpt too?”

Li Wenxi, who was beside them, nodded, ”Yeah, sculpting. He even sculpted a few pieces for me, all sculptures of me, each increasing decoration points by ten!”

”Why, you can’t sculpt?” Xu Xin looked at Ji Chaoyang’s puzzled expression and asked.

”I can paint, but I can’t sculpt. My artist ability is painting and trophies.” Ji Chaoyang’s eyes widened slightly.

”Trophies?” Xu Xin was also taken aback; aren’t artists the same?

”It’s about making beast heads into trophies and hanging them on the wall. During the rainy season, there are plenty of beast corpses, so I collected them and made trophies. So, your artistic ability is not trophies, but sculpting?” Ji Chaoyang inquired.

”...Yes, I sculpt using colorful crystals. They’re the ones you guys picked up during the rainy season.” Xu Xin explained.

”What are you guys talking about?” Qi Xuefei, beside them, was quite puzzled but caught onto an important detail, ”Artist? Adding decoration points? You guys can increase decoration points too?”

”Let me explain, Sister Xuefei.” Li Wenxi pulled Qi Xuefei aside to explain.

”Wait, your painting is ink painting?” Xu Xin suddenly thought that he could only do ink paintings; could this painting also be...

”...No, it’s oil painting. I also need to use various colors of plants to make the pigments.”

The two looked at each other in surprise.

Unexpectedly, until now, they only realized that their artist abilities were completely different from each other.

When he first exchanged abilities with Ji Chaoyang, he only knew that the other had the ’Artist’ ability like him, but they never discussed the specifics. They both assumed their artist abilities were the same.

Xu Xin couldn’t help but laugh, ”Oh boy, we’re not the same kind of artists at all?”

Ji Chaoyang also laughed, ”Isn’t that better? I was worried about not having enough decoration points, but now we can make things for each other and double the decoration points.”

What an unexpected delight!

Xu Xin was relieved. Like Ji Chaoyang, he also worried about not having enough decoration points since the ones provided by green-level decorations were limited.

If he doesn’t enhance the art room with decoration, making blue-level sculptures and paintings would be very slow. But if he decorates the art room, then the alchemy success rate won’t be enough, delaying the coordinate creation.

Moreover, since decoration points have a limit, the more he adds to the art room, the less he can add to other functional areas. It’s really a headache.

But now, with decoration points doubled, Xu Xin’s worries instantly vanished.

So when he goes back today, he can confidently increase the alchemy success rate and begin making alchemical products.

”You two, you can actually make tools to increase decoration points!” Qi Xuefei exclaimed in surprise.

She always thought decoration points were rare! It turns out two people in their team could manually increase decoration points!

”Don’t worry, Sister Xuefei. We will make decoration point tools available to explorers.”

Now, Xu Xin doesn’t take much time to create green-level resources. By exchanging with Ji Chaoyang to make some decorations, he can speed up the sculpting and painting, allowing mass production.

It’s just that he’s worried his mental energy won’t hold up.

However, with alchemical potions, he could enhance his mental capacity, so it wasn’t really an issue.

Indeed, alchemy and artistry should progress side by side.

”That’s good. My success rate for developing and making blue-level and above medicines was also a concern. Now I’m relieved.” Qi Xuefei also seemed much more at ease.

The four of them came down from the third floor, and Xu Xin patted the head of the Silver King lying on the ground, saying, ”Alright, we’ve said what needed to be said, and seen what’s to be seen. We should get busy with other things.”

”Leaving already? It’s still early. Stay a while longer; it’s my first real meeting with Sister Xuefei, and we haven’t chatted much,” Li Wenxi said, a bit unwilling, grabbing Xu Xin’s arm, not wanting to leave.

”How about this, you two stay here,” Ji Chaoyang suggested, ”and Xu Xin and I will explore the surrounding area.”

Xu Xin recalled what the two had talked about yesterday.

This area, with so many people with special abilities gathered, must have something special here. They talked about bringing each other to those special locations.

Like that salt mine cave, which looked like a giant’s mouth.

Xu Xin told the two women about it, and Qi Xuefei immediately said, ”We should all go together. After all, it concerns this area, and we are also responsible.”

”Great, let’s all go together!” Li Wenxi eagerly agreed.

Xu Xin and Ji Chaoyang exchanged a glance and nodded.

This was the best outcome.

The four of them all possessed special abilities; maybe they could indeed discover something.
