Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 262: Chapter 232: Powerful Defense System!

Upon entering the interior of the parasitic treehouse, Xu Xin immediately went up to the second floor.

”Got it!”

He saw that the control panel by the window, resembling a conductor’s podium, was still there, and he was a bit pleasantly surprised.

Indeed, the fixed components of the treehouse that couldn’t be dismantled were transplanted here along with the treehouse!

He promptly walked to the control panel and gently touched the screen on the panel.

[Treehouse External Weapon Control Panel (Blue): It can connect to all the control panels of external treehouse weapons, allowing all external weapons to be operated from the panel.]

The same introduction, no damage or downgrade, it was exactly the same panel as before.

However, under his touch, the panel did not activate and remained dark, unusable.

At this moment, the three people behind him also came up to the second floor.

Ji Chaoyang’s eyes lit up upon seeing the panel, and he quickly walked forward to examine it: ”Is this what you said is the treehouse external weapon control panel?”

”That’s it.” Xu Xin touched it a few more times, making sure he couldn’t operate it, then turned to Qi Xuefei following behind him, ”Sister Xuefei, you are the owner of the treehouse, so only you should be able to control this panel.”

”Okay, let me try.” Qi Xuefei stepped forward, looking at the control panel with a somewhat complex expression.

This was the thing that made her so embarrassed.

She hadn’t been inside Ma Hongyu’s treehouse; it was her first time seeing this panel.

This thing left a profound impression on her, as those heavy crossbow arrows that could flip her over and even break her bones were all controlled by this device.

If it weren’t for this thing, she wouldn’t have been so passive and wouldn’t have embarrassed herself in front of Xu Xin and Li Wenxi!

She reached out to touch the panel.

”Ah, it lit up!” Li Wenxi exclaimed with joy.

”Eek!” Keke, having finished eating the apple, jumped out from Li Wenxi’s arms onto the windowsill, curiously watching the changes in the panel.

Under the gaze of the few people, the screen on the control panel became clear.

The panel displayed a real aerial view of the surroundings, just like a drone capturing footage from the air.

The parasitic treehouse was at the center, and next to it, the parasitic treehouse, Qi Xuefei’s main treehouse, and the slow-flowing river adjacent to the main treehouse could all be seen clearly. The entire scene covered a range of about a hundred meters.

Qi Xuefei slid the screen down slightly, and the entire scene moved up a bit, putting the treehouse’s position at the bottom of the scene, then it couldn’t be moved anymore, seemingly indicating the treehouse with the control panel must be within the scene’s range.

”Why does this feel like dragging a mini-map in a game?” Li Wenxi muttered softly.

Qi Xuefei swiped a few more times but did not find any other operable areas.

”This treehouse hasn’t been fitted with weapons yet, has it?” Ji Chaoyang said.

Indeed, although the control panel was transplanted with the parasitic treehouse, all the heavy crossbows outside the treehouse were damaged during the withering and fragmentation of the treehouse, remaining in the ruins of the treehouse.

”I’ll make two right now.”

Qi Xuefei promptly ran to the first floor of the treehouse. She had just enough materials to make two wooden heavy crossbows.

Qi Xuefei installed the treehouse crossbows on the second floor.

The people on the second floor immediately heard two ”clack clack” sounds from outside the treehouse, and two small windows opened on the wall, along with loading slots for crossbow arrows below them.

”Sister Xuefei, come up quickly, something’s changed on the panel!” Li Wenxi noticed the change on the panel and shouted towards the first floor.

The panel indeed changed. Two small crossbow icons appeared near the treehouse icon, and at the bottom of the screen, two options also appeared: Treehouse Auto Crossbow (1), Treehouse Auto Crossbow (2).

Xu Xin tried to touch the panel, but the screen showed no response to his touch.

What a guy, he couldn’t even operate the panel that was already on.

Qi Xuefei came to the control panel, looked at it for two seconds, and clicked on [Treehouse Auto Crossbow (1)]. On the screen, the icon representing this crossbow lit up, and the option also showed (0/5).

”(0/5)? Does this mean the number of crossbow arrows?”

Since crossbow arrows could be made without a workstation, Xu Xin immediately used his watch to make five crossbow arrows and loaded them into the crossbow.

The three of them froze for a moment at Xu Xin’s maneuver and then reacted.

”Your watch is really convenient, huh.” Ji Chaoyang sighed, then added somewhat helplessly, ”If it weren’t for you being around, this watch would be mine.”

”Haha, keep at it, there might be more in the future.” Xu Xin laughed.

”Probably not, the rewards for the first stage should all be limited.” Ji Chaoyang was just saying casually and did not hold much hope for what Xu Xin mentioned.

The group looked at the panel. Sure enough, behind Treehouse Auto Crossbow (1), the original (0/5) had changed to (5/5), indicating that this treehouse crossbow was already loaded.

”How do you operate it?” Qi Xuefei murmured to herself, then lightly tapped on the map.

”Clack!” Suddenly, there was a mechanical sound coming from outside the treehouse.

”Eek!” The sound erupted right next to Keke, startling the little creature so much that it leapt onto Xu Xin’s shoulder.
