Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 264: Chapter 233: Discussion in the Treehouse

It’s been a long time since Xu Xin paid attention to Qi Zixuan, she’s almost forgotten him.

”The idea that blood relations start off closer in proximity is just a hypothesis. But there’s a certain possibility,” Xu Xin admitted honestly.

With just two examples, it doesn’t really explain much.

But if we go by their guess, Qi Zixuan might really be nearby.

Qi Xuefei opened her mouth, her eyes trembling twice, and in the end, her voice lacked confidence, ”If you... happen to meet Zixuan, could you...”

”Don’t worry, Sister Xuefei, if we meet him, I’ll make sure he comes to you.”

Getting Qi Zixuan to operate under Qi Xuefei’s territory is the best choice.

Qi Xuefei was silent for two seconds, then said, ”I’ve contacted him, Zixuan says he doesn’t want to come, he wants to develop on his own, but the second phase might be dangerous, I...”

Oh, indeed, after that fuss with [Healing for All], they even poached their core members, causing their organization to become inoperative. It truly makes collaboration difficult.

According to their attitude towards survivors in this region, if the other party doesn’t want to come, they won’t force them.

”Does Sister Xuefei still have contact with him?” Li Wenxi asked curiously.

Qi Xuefei was silent for a moment, then said, ”After all, he’s my own brother, how could I just watch him die? Blacklisting him back then was just a moment of anger.”

”Recently, has Healing for All done anything?” Xu Xin really hadn’t paid much attention to Area 188’s regional channel these past few days, so she asked the group. She wondered if they, like the Explorers, started recruiting survivors.

”No,” Li Wenxi shook her head, ”since Sister Xuefei arrived, they seemed to have disappeared altogether. They hardly appear on the regional channel and don’t sell herbs on the trading platform anymore. Now all the herbs and medicines on the trading platform are sold by Sister Xuefei.”

”They really haven’t done much recently,” Qi Xuefei nodded in agreement, ”Without me, they’re really just a bunch of ordinary survivors. The medicine I gave him is only enough for one person.”

”Actually, you don’t need to worry,” Ji Chaoyang pulled out a pill, made by Qi Xuefei, which can quickly heal injuries, ”You probably give him some every time you make new medicine, right? With your medicine, there’s basically no need to worry he’ll run into trouble.”

Qi Xuefei sighed, ”I’m not afraid he’ll die, as long as he doesn’t act recklessly, with my medicine, there won’t be too big of an issue, but...”

She glanced outside at the newly planted parasitic tree house, ”But if he’s captured by people from other areas and plants his tree house there, the parasitic tree house cannot be transplanted again, and it will die along with the main tree house, then wouldn’t he be... completely opposed to us?”

So that’s what she’s worried about. Xu Xin understood.

She’s afraid Qi Zixuan will be captured by people from other areas and be forced into opposition with them.

However, this doesn’t need to be overly worried about, because...

”No need to worry too much about this,” Ji Chaoyang spoke up, ”You just need to leave an empty parasitic tree house, this one here will do.” He pointed to the tree house they were in now.

”What do you mean?” Qi Xuefei was a bit confused.

”Ah, I get it!” Li Wenxi clapped her hands, revealing a look of sudden understanding, then explained to Qi Xuefei, ”Sister Xuefei, they’re saying as long as Qi Zixuan is alive, the tree house itself isn’t that important.”

”The tree house isn’t important? Without a tree house, wouldn’t he die?” Qi Xuefei still didn’t understand, frowning.

Maybe it’s because she’s worried, but she couldn’t wrap her head around it.

”I should have mentioned to you before that survivors actually don’t have a territorial division; the tree houses have the territorial division.” Xu Xin explained, ”As long as someone owns a tree house in a region, they belong to that region.”

Li Wenxi nodded vigorously, ”Yes, that’s right, even if he does end up parasitizing in another region, and if we eliminate that survivor, his parasitic tree house would surely die, but if we bring him back within twenty-four hours and make him the owner of this tree house...”

Li Wenxi pointed to the tree house they were in.

”Ah!” Qi Xuefei’s eyes lit up, ”Can it be done like that? Are you sure about this? Can I designate him as the owner of this tree house even if it wasn’t originally his?”

”Of course you can.” Xu Xin nodded, ”I’ve already done it practically.”

The owner of the main tree house can designate anyone to become the holder of the parasitic tree house and use it, regardless of whether the parasitic tree house originally belonged to that person.

This fact has already been verified through Lou Fei’Er.

Likewise, the owner of the main tree house can make a person living in their parasitic tree house lose the tree house, and the one who loses the tree house will ”leave this beautiful world” within 24 hours.

This truly means holding the fate of the parasitic in one’s hands.

”That’s good to hear, that’s good to hear...” Qi Xuefei let out a long sigh of relief.

She was just afraid that she would have to face her own brother on the battlefield, with one of them having to die, and that would be too ironic and melodramatic.

As long as one is alive, there is still hope.

With the medicine she makes, as long as you don’t act recklessly, there shouldn’t be any big problems.

”Now that we’ve finished looking here, let’s go to Sister Xuefei’s treehouse,” Li Wenxi proposed, while also picking up Keke, who was still resting her head on Xu Xin’s shoulder, listening in confusion.

”Okay, we indeed need to have a good talk.”

Qi Xuefei led the group down from this parasite treehouse and headed towards her main treehouse.

Below the treehouse, Xu Xin’s Silver King was lying there resting, and Bai Ma was also drinking water by the riverbank under the treehouse.

”Ow!” Seeing everyone approaching, Silver King barked at them.

”Let’s go up together.”

Qi Xuefei led everyone, including Silver King and Bai Ma, into the treehouse and they came to the second floor.

This level’s design is similar to Li Wenxi’s room—it’s a one-bedroom, one-living room, one-kitchen, and one-bathroom layout.

”The first floor has those workbenches, the third floor is my medical room, have a seat.” Qi Xuefei casually sat on the sofa and exhaled, ”Finally back.”

”Yay!” Keke jumped out of Li Wenxi’s arms and plunged into the sofa, always enjoying rolling around on the soft sofa.

”Sister Xuefei, you have a sofa too!” Li Wenxi leaned against Qi Xuefei as she sat down.

Xu Xin and Ji Chaoyang also sat down, and the group formed a circle.

Silver King and Bai Ma lay down by the wall, continuing to recharge themselves.

”Alright, everyone’s finally here, now we can have a proper chat.” Ji Chaoyang immediately spoke after sitting down, ”Now that we’ve formed a group, we shouldn’t hide our abilities from each other.”

Xu Xin nodded in agreement.

The purpose of their meeting wasn’t just to truly meet each other and get familiar, but most importantly, to clarify each other’s abilities in person.

”You guys should already be quite clear on my abilities,” Qi Xuefei leaned back leisurely on the sofa, feeling a bit lazy. She was always like this at home, and after being teased for so long, she felt tired.

”We only know you can cultivate medicinal herbs and make pharmaceuticals.”

Xu Xin and the others had long confirmed that they couldn’t obtain seeds from digging up hemostatic grass or other herbaceous plants.

So naturally, they couldn’t cultivate medicinal herbs. Both these skills were unique to Qi Xuefei.

”It’s pretty much as you imagined,” Qi Xuefei sat up straight and began explaining her abilities.

”My ability is called ’Medical King,’ which includes the ability to cultivate herbs and research and manufacture drugs. Beyond this, I can also see the location of any medicinal materials within a radius of five hundred meters. Additionally, this ability grants me immunity to all diseases.”

”Immunity to all diseases?!” Li Wenxi exclaimed, ”That’s quite powerful!”

”A radius of five hundred meters...” Xu Xin was more focused on her range for exploring medicinal materials.

A radius of five hundred meters is similar to his alchemical exploration range, slightly shorter than his identification ability—which can see up to a distance of one kilometer.

However, his identification ability has a flaw. Although he doesn’t need an identification platform to gauge the grade of all resources, making it easy to find and obtain higher-grade resources, it only works on objects visible to him.

For instance, if a blue-grade stone is blocked by a tree and its blue glow is obscured, he might not discover it.

But the alchemical exploration ability is different; he can still find alchemical materials even if they’re buried underground. The yellow glow directly appears in his field of vision.

”Can you find all herbs within a five hundred meter radius, even if they’re blocked?” Xu Xin asked.

”Of course, as long as I want to,” Qi Xuefei slightly raised her head, pointing upwards, ”I can clearly see now—there’s a mound of herbs growing on the third floor of my treehouse.”

”Sister Xuefei, if your herbs need planting, do you have a planting room?” Li Wenxi asked curiously while playing with Keke. ”Zhao Xiaochuan’s place seems to specialize in planting, right? You might ask him to help you grow herbs.”

”No, he can’t help me; the planting room can’t speed up herb cultivation,” Qi Xuefei shook her head, ”Herb cultivation differs from normal plant cultivation, it requires another functional area—the ’Herb Cultivation Chamber.’ Only this area can accelerate the growth of herbs, and I’m the only one who can recognize this functional area.”

So herb cultivation actually has a specialized functional area.

”Ah... then we can’t be of much help, but you could have those hosted here cultivate the herbs!” Li Wenxi suggested, after all, the parasite treehouse can unlock all abilities of the main treehouse.

Qi Xuefei agreed: ”That’s exactly what I think. If you’re curious, we can go up later to check out the medical room and the herb cultivation chamber, which are both upstairs.” As she spoke, she pointed to the floor above.
