Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 265: Chapter 234: Li Wenxi’s Amazing Ability (4,000 words!)

”Then it’s my turn next.” Li Wenxi hugged Keke tight, making the little one whimper, ”My ability is called [Prospector], you might have already guessed a bit about it.”

Prospector, Xu Xin had seen this term earlier in the introduction for the Great Furnace.

”I can explore all metal ores within a 500-meter radius. Whether they’re in the mountain or underground, as long as they’re within my exploration range, I can immediately see where the metal ores are!”

Li Wenxi said this as she stood up from the sofa, walked to the window, and pointed to a small hill not far away: ”Inside that small hill, there are metal ores. You can’t see them from outside; you need to dig a few meters deeper to find them. And over there.”

Then she pointed in another direction, upstream from the little river next to Qi Xuefei’s tree house: ”Underneath the riverbed, there are metal ores too!”

”Can you tell what type of metal ores they are?” Ji Chaoyang asked.

”Uh... no.” Li Wenxi replied a bit sheepishly, ”I can only see white glows indicating something’s there, but I can’t tell what type of ore until we dig it out.”

Xu Xin also walked up to Li Wenxi and looked out the window towards the places she pointed.

He couldn’t see anything special about the hill that Li Wenxi pointed to first.

But under the riverbed, his alchemy ability reacted. A yellow glow lit up from that spot.

That’s metal that can be used for alchemical materials!

Currently, the metals usable for alchemical materials are only four types: iron, silver, gold, and dark gold.

The metal under the riverbed is likely one of these four.

If it’s silver, that would be great. With silver, maybe they could make electrical appliances.

... Could it be copper?

”Your ability, it can’t be just this, right?” Xu Xin turned to Li Wenxi, raising an eyebrow as he asked.

Special exploration abilities, both he and Qi Xuefei had them, but this wasn’t their main ability.

”Hehe, of course!” Li Wenxi jumped up and sat on the windowsill, swinging her legs, ”My ability, besides prospecting, is also shown in mining.”

”Mining?” Qi Xuefei continued, ”Is your mining efficiency higher than ours?”

Li Wenxi didn’t explain but instead pulled a steel pickaxe from her backpack and handed it to Xu Xin: ”Look at this!”

Xu Xin took the steel pickaxe.

[Prospector’s Steel Pickaxe (Blue): A special steel pickaxe only prospector can make, with extremely high mining efficiency, capable of mining all types of ores below purple grade, and has a 20% chance to extract triple resources. Durability: 5000]

”This is... a custom steel pickaxe?” Xu Xin was taken aback.

This introduction is really eye-catching!

The mining efficiency is extremely high! It’s the first time he’s seen the adjective ”extremely high”! Plus, there was an additional special entry.

[20% chance to extract triple resources]!

Very strong, this entry is very strong! It essentially can enhance the total output from a mine! Moreover, the 20% chance is quite high, meaning every five swings, one might bring triple mineral resources!

If they’re mining high-grade resources, then it’s highly rewarding!

Most importantly, this isn’t Li Wenxi’s unique ability, but a pickaxe’s capability, meaning as long as someone possesses this pickaxe, anyone could have high mining efficiency and a chance for triple extraction!

So, it’s entirely possible to form a team with high mining efficiency using pickaxes like this!

Seeing Xu Xin’s widened eyes, Li Wenxi displayed a proud expression: ”What do you think, strong huh?”

Xu Xin pursed his lips and nodded: ”Indeed strong, it’s a must-have for a mining leader!”

”Leader of miners, what a terrible title! Call me Prospector!” Li Wenxi was very displeased with Xu Xin’s title and gave him a light punch.

”What are you guys talking about?” Qi Xuefei asked, puzzled, then teased Li Wenxi, ”So, are you only sharing your ability with your little boyfriend and not us?”

”No way!” Li Wenxi blushed and turned to Xu Xin, ”Have you looked at it? If you have, show it to them!”

Ji Chaoyang wasn’t in a hurry, watching both of them as he waited for an explanation.

”Let me explain,” Xu Xin returned the steel pickaxe to Li Wenxi and explained, ”This pickaxe has extremely high mining efficiency and a 20% chance to extract triple resources. Also, she can make unique furnaces.”

He glanced at Li Wenxi, prompting her to continue her explanation.

”Well... that furnace has a certain chance to smelt more advanced resources.” Li Wenxi continued, explaining herself. Then she glanced at Xu Xin, muttering to herself, ”So, the chance is 20%!”

Without appraisal ability, she couldn’t see the detailed introduction, only knowing there was a certain probability. She didn’t know it was 20%, so she had to figure it out by trial and error.

”More advanced resources?” Ji Chaoyang and Qi Xuefei both sat upright, looking surprised.

”... Can it smelt purple-grade ones?” Ji Chaoyang asked.

”Of course it can, it has already smelted them before—purple-grade steel blocks!” Li Wenxi nodded and then flashed a mysterious smile, ”Actually, I personally have another trait. Without this mining pickaxe, I could still have a chance for multiple critical hits while mining! Want to guess what’s the maximum multiplier I could get?”
