Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 278: Chapter 243: Danger After the Rift

”Red Mist?” Xu Xin pulled a few people beside him slightly back, observing from a distance.

”Howl!” Silver King let out a cry, it didn’t retreat but took a few steps forward, standing at the edge of the cave and immersing itself in the permeating Red Mist.

Xu Xin did not stop it, after all, it is a mutant creature, previously proven that this kind of Red Mist enhances the abilities of mutant creatures. Silver King entering it actually has benefits.

As the cave mouth gradually widened and expanded, dense Red Mist surged out from the cave.

”It smells awful...” Qi Xuefei covered her nose and mouth, frowned, and said.

Li Wenxi also covered her nose and mouth, slightly backed up two steps: ”This stench...is the smell of Red Mist that permeated previously from the underground cave!”

This mist is fragrant at low concentrations but becomes foul-smelling at high concentrations.

Just the Red Mist wafting out has already made the people at a relatively far distance somewhat intolerable.

Xu Xin looked into the mine, at this moment, the Red Mist inside the mine is very dense, as if a smoke bomb was thrown inside, completely obscuring the view of the cave interior.

This concentration is nearly reaching the level of Red Mist gushing up in the underground passage!

He instantly felt a bit of fear, luckily, luckily he didn’t stay inside just now, or at this concentration of stench, he simply couldn’t bear it, might directly faint from the stench, becoming completely powerless, unable to resist whatever occurred inside.

The blood markings on Silver King’s body once again lit up in the dense Red Mist, it didn’t seem to mind the stench, instead looked quite blissful, and even took two steps further into the cave.

”Whimper!” Keke called out to Silver King outside the cave, also wanting to leap over, but was directly pulled back by Xu Xin.

This mist concentration is too high, Keke is not a mutant beast, if it goes in, who knows what kind of harm it might suffer.

”Whimper! Whimper whimper!” Keke fidgeted in Xu Xin’s arms, using its little claws to gesture, its cries showing some urgency.

Xu Xin understood Keke’s meaning.

Inside the cave, is there danger?

”Silver King, come back, don’t go any further!” Xu Xin shouted to Silver King.

”Howl?” Silver King turned to look at Xu Xin, its blood-red eyes and markings equally vivid, seemingly tinged with a hint of madness.

”Ah! What’s wrong with Silver King?” Li Wenxi also noticed Silver King’s abnormality, asked nervously.

”Silver King, don’t go any further! Come back!” Xu Xin commanded.

”Howl...”

Fortunately, Silver King did not lose its mind as they imagined, it looked somewhat reluctantly at the cave that continued to spew Red Mist, responded with a sound, and returned to Xu Xin’s side.

”Whimper!” Keke leaped onto Silver King’s back.

The mine is like last time, continuously spreading Red Mist outward, but a fierce cold wind blows through the forest at this moment, making it impossible for the mist to gather around the hill.

Once the mist spreads out from the cave, it is immediately dispersed by the wind.

This situation made Xu Xin let out a sigh of relief.

He really doesn’t want this place to be surrounded by Red Mist again and become a danger zone, with mutated vines popping out.

The cave mouth has now completely opened, reverted to its original form. The long spear that Ji Chaoyang previously placed above the cave mouth, now has half of it inserted into the cave wall, the other half broken off, gone to who knows where.

”Now, we can basically conclude, this cave, this giant’s head, is alive.” Ji Chaoyang pondered with his chin resting on his hand, ”This Red Mist looks like it’s soon to dissipate, in a few minutes, the cave interior will become visible.”

Just as Ji Chaoyang described, the Red Mist in the cave mostly has spread outside by now.

This time, unlike last time, there’s no Red Mist continuously generated inside the cave but only this much Red Mist now has dispersed for some time, reducing the mist inside the cave significantly.

A few of them waited outside the cave for several minutes, and the Red Mist inside had completely dispersed, only a thin trace remained at the top of the cave, but at this concentration level, it didn’t matter.

The situation inside the cave was fully visible, not seeing any presence of danger Keke mentioned.

Xu Xin looked at the wall inside the cave that had split open before he came out.

To his disappointment, that wall had closed up, completely no signs of ever being split.

”Keke, is there still any danger now?” Xu Xin asked Keke, who was lying on Silver King’s back and scratching at its blood markings with its little claws.

”Whimper...whimper.” Keke shook its head, indicating it couldn’t sense anything now.

”Then I’ll go in to check again.” Xu Xin stepped forward.

”Hey!” Li Wenxi grabbed him, ”It’s risky of you, encountering such danger, and going back in!”

”...I’ll just walk around the cave mouth, not going deep inside.” Xu Xin patted Silver King’s head, ”Silver King, come in with me, if anything happens again, we can quickly escape.”

”Howl!” Silver King walked to Xu Xin’s side.

”Then... Then I’ll go in with you!” Li Wenxi held onto his arm.

”Better you stay outside, it’s dangerous.” Xu Xin shook his head, releasing her grip.

”I’ll go in with you.” Ji Chaoyang withdrew his gaze from the depths of the cave, nodded to Xu Xin, ”We’ll only look around the cave entrance, no need to go any deeper, earlier, you might have already awakened this head.”

”Head...” Qi Xuefei looked at the hill, ”Is it really the head of a giant?”
