Berserk God of War

Chapter 299: Chapter 299: Don’t Get Serious

As they uttered these words, all the Black-armored Soldiers simultaneously turned their steely gazes toward Sikong Jing, filled with firm determination.

”Good, I’m thankful for everyone’s trust, let’s go.”

After speaking, Sikong Jing swiftly grabbed Pan Zha and strode meteorically atop a tall wall.

Looking down, he towered over a frantically panicked Lan Zhuanghe below, and coldly chuckled, ”Lan Zhuanghe, the Pan Zha you wanted to kill, I’ve already brought him to you.”

As soon as these words fell, Lan Zhuanghe’s gaze sharpened, his whole body radiating lethal intent, ”You wretched creature from Canglong Domain.”

New hatred and old animosities burst forth, with fury raging to the heavens.

Then, his eyes fell upon the bound Pan Zha, his body shook violently, and he looked up and roared in anger, ”Pan Zha didn’t betray me, it was you who did it, was it you who used Pan Zha to trap me?”

Since Pan Zha had been captured, it proved that he was merely exposed, not that he had betrayed Lan Zhuanghe.

A cold smirk tugged at the corner of Sikong Jing’s mouth, as he indifferently replied, ”Lan Zhuanghe, you tried to turn Pan Zha against me to harm my family and use my own family against me, but do you think such a minor character as Pan Zha is enough to look down on me?”

Upon hearing this, Pan Zha struggled madly again.

How the hell did I end up a minor character, I can’t accept this.

”You, a mere Spirit Martial Root from Canglong Small Domain—do you think you deserve my respect?”

Even though Lan Zhuanghe was surrounded, he still refused to bow his head in front of someone as insignificant as Sikong Jing. If Sikong Jing hadn’t killed his brother in Xingluo Palace, Lan Zhuanghe wouldn’t even spare him a glance.

”Is that so? But now, you’re under siege by me.”

Sikong Jing shrugged nonchalantly, pointing carelessly, ”Dismount and kneel to beg for mercy, present the General Order of the 96th Legion, and proclaim to the world your defeat at the hands of my 99th Army, and I might just spare your life for the time being.”

His voice rang out clear, Sikong Jing commanding from all sides.

Lan Zhuanghe’s body flashed with fury again, and he yelled frantically, ”Impossible!”

If he did as Sikong Jing said, he would never be able to lift his head again.

And his 96th Legion would be taken over by Ning Jingjing; he would end up losing everything.

Lan Zhuanghe couldn’t afford such a loss and was absolutely unwilling to compromise with Sikong Jing.

”You wretched creature from Canglong Domain, do you think you’ve got me cornered?”

”Haha, this isn’t a real war, you don’t dare, and you can’t just kill people randomly.”

Being both part of the Long Night Black Burning Army, it was permissible for the two legions to clash but not to inflict too much damage.

Just as Lan Zhuanghe mentioned, the 99th Army wouldn’t dare to kill recklessly, let alone kill him.

”All generals heed my command, protect me out of the city!”

Following another furious shout from Lan Zhuanghe, the hundreds of Knights behind him instantly surrounded him in the middle. Then, Lan Zhuanghe laughed towards Sikong Jing, ”Do you dare to shoot arrows and kill? You... don’t dare!”

After that, he ordered his hundreds of Knights, ”Retreat!”

Subsequently, Lan Zhuanghe and his men started retreating towards the city gates.

The Black-armored Soldiers of the 99th Army instinctively looked toward the two Deputy Generals, who then turned their gaze to Sikong Jing. The first Deputy General asked, ”Brother Sikong, shall we encircle and capture them alive?”

Though they couldn’t shoot arrows, they could rush forward and completely capture Lan Zhuanghe and his hundreds of men.

Sikong Jing smiled slightly and then suddenly commanded, ”All soldiers on my order, fire!”

As these words came out, Lan Zhuanghe and his hundreds of Knights were stunned, halting in their tracks, while the Black-armored Soldiers of the 99th Army were also shocked. Firing arrows like this would result in many deaths.

They mustn’t shoot, after all, the Long Night Black Burning Army were still their own people.

”Loose arrows at the horses!” Sikong Jing commanded indifferently once again.

Suddenly, the two Deputy Generals trembled, and gave the order to all the warriors of the 99th Army, ”Loose arrows at the horses, and from now on, follow Brother Sikong’s commands. You do not need to listen to us anymore.”

Upon hearing this, the Black-armored Soldiers immediately understood and pulled back their bows in unison.

”Quick, dismount and leave the city!”

Startled, Lan Zhuanghe’s entire body broke out in goosebumps as he roared.

One by one, the knights frantically dismounted, followed by a sky full of arrows flashing towards several hundred warhorses, with the cries of the horses piercing the sky.

Warhorse after warhorse was struck by arrows and fell to the ground, never to rise again.

At this moment, Sikong Jing’s voice rang out once again, ”Three thousand will surround Lan Zhuanghe, the rest ascend the city walls.”

Upon the command, the two Deputy Generals began to deploy forces, personally leading three thousand soldiers to charge at Lan Zhuanghe and his several hundred men, while the remaining twenty-seven thousand of the 99th Army’s Black-armored Soldiers ascended the city walls with bows and arrows in hand.

Just then, Sikong Jing suddenly stopped the Deputy Generals and ordered, ”Remember, do not go hard on him, let Lan Zhuanghe escape.”

The two Deputy Generals were stunned, and the second Deputy General inquired, ”Why?”

”There’s no time, I’ll explain it to you later.”

Sikong Jing shook his head, then added, ”Of course, aside from Lan Zhuanghe, capture all the other several hundred men.”

The two Deputy Generals looked intensely at Sikong Jing for a moment and then nodded, leading their troops down to attack.

Lan Zhuanghe and his several hundred men continued to resist, retreating towards the city gates while fighting. After a while, Lan Zhuanghe shouted, ”You all block them, I’ll leave the city and bring reinforcements...”

Having said that, he fought his way to the back of the city gate, opened it, and flashed out.

Just as Sikong Jing had said, they let Lan Zhuanghe escape.

The remaining several hundred men were desperately resisting the encirclement of three thousand soldiers. Seeing Lan Zhuanghe exit through the gates, one of them burst out laughing, ”General Lan has gone out, you useless bunch of the 99th Army, wait for your death!”

As long as Lan Zhuanghe left the city, he could lead tens of thousands from the 96th Legion to circle back for an attack.

The several hundred knights were extremely proud, having such an advantage, yet the 99th Army still let General Lan leave the city. If this wasn’t incompetence, what was?

But the next moment, Sikong Jing commanded, ”Get serious, capture them all!”

As the word fell, the two Deputy Generals immediately charged forth.

The fighting spirit of the three thousand soared, suppressing the several hundred on the spot and capturing them alive without sparing a single one!

The knights who were just feeling triumphant were dumbfounded. What the hell was going on?

How did the fighters of the 99th Army, who were labeled as weak, suddenly become so explosively powerful?

But they had been captured, and no one offered them any explanation.

Outside the city walls, before Lan Zhuanghe could rejoin his tens of thousands of soldiers, he burst into laughter, ”You fools of the 99th Army, I, Lan Zhuanghe, have gone out, and now the city gate is open. My men inside will defend to the death, you are finished.”

He thought to himself that the several hundred men behind the city gate would surely defend to the death and not allow the 99th Army to close it.

That way, he could lead his troops into the city a second time, and victory seemed to be in sight.

But Lan Zhuanghe had not imagined that the moment he left the city, the several hundred knights had already been captured.

The gate of the 99th Castle, of course, was sealed tight once more.

”To all the soldiers of the 96th Legion, hear my command: Charge into the 99th Castle.”

At Lan Zhuanghe’s command, the fifty thousand soldiers of the 96th Legion charged towards the city gate and fiercely rammed into it.
