Berserk God of War

267: Chapter 267: Turnaround, Counter-Encirclement at Lan Zhuanghe 267: Chapter 267: Turnaround, Counter-Encirclement at Lan Zhuanghe Outside the castle, a deputy general asked Lan Zhuanghe, “General Lan, what should we do next?”

Sikong Jing had been taken into the castle by Ning Jingjing and was being protected, so without besieging the castle, revenge was impossible.

But to lay siege, they were not confident!

After pondering, Lan Zhuanghe gritted his teeth and said, “Wait, we will just wear Ning Jingjing down here, cut off their water, cut off their food, I don’t believe she won’t hand over Sikong Jing.”

At this moment, the deputy general of the Martial Arts Sect Realm spoke again, “Should we report this to Commander Yan?”

Another deputy general said, “Right, that Spirit Martial Root is not from the Long Night Black Burning Army, Commander Yan will definitely order Ning Jingjing to hand him over.”

Hearing this, Lan Zhuanghe firmly shook his head and said, “No, Commander Yan must already know about this, but his inaction means he’s letting me act freely.

If he were to intervene, at most he’d just get Sikong Jing killed.”

“I don’t just want him dead, I also want Ning Jingjing to beg me for mercy.”

“So even if it means besieging her for several days and nights, no one will come to her aid.”

Upon hearing this, the two deputy generals’ eyes lit up, and they nodded vigorously.

Time slowly passed, and Ning Jingjing did not stick to waiting just an hour, but waited until everyone had learned the Dark Wing Black Burning Sword from Sikong Jing’s Green Jade Tube before making a move.

Suddenly, as dawn approached, in the darkest moment, Ning Jingjing shouted, “Leave the city, counterattack Lan Zhuanghe!”

“Yes!”

All complied, and the city gates were opened wide!

On the side of the 96th Legion, some people were sleeping, while others were on night duty…

And the moment the city gates opened, the night watchers cried out, “The 99th Legion has broken out, quickly, prepare to fight.”

Lan Zhuanghe was also sleeping when suddenly he heard this, and every hair on his body stood on end.

“Ning Jingjing, how dare she?”

After speaking, he donned his armor and rushed out of his tent, and by then, the cries of battle had already begun.

Leading the 99th Army, Ning Jingjing, with thirty thousand Black-armored Soldiers, viciously charged forward, their swords engulfed in black flames.

In an instant, they stormed into the midst of the 96th Legion, and screams continuously resounded.

“What Swordsmanship does the 99th Army have, their Black Burning Swords are different from ours.”

“It’s that Spirit Martial Root who brought it to them, but why are they so strong?”

A single strike was crushing; the 99th Army was high in spirits due to their collective breakthrough, whereas the 96th Legion caught off-guard included some who were asleep and couldn’t believe their opponents would dare to attack were struck unawares.

Watching the chaotic scene, Lan Zhuanghe roared, “Retreat, retreat quickly!”

Rolling clouds of dust rose outside the 99th Castle as Lan Zhuanghe and his fifty thousand men constantly fell back towards the Ninety-Six Castle.

It was a complete rout.

An hour later…

The rising sun shone upon the ground of the Long Night Black Burning Camp, and outside the castle of the 96th Legion, led by Ning Jingjing, the 99th Army had them completely surrounded; the situation had reversed in just a few hours.

The initially besieged 99th Army had turned the tables and were now besieging the 96th Legion.

Sitting proudly atop a Black Steed, Ning Jingjing, full of heroic spirit and not inferior to men, coldly stared at Lan Zhuanghe above the castle, “The position of the 96th Legion is a shame in your hands, why not let me have it?”

If she were to capture the 96th Legion, Ning Jingjing could become the Commander General of it.

And Lan Zhuanghe would have to roll out and be reassigned.

Lan Zhuanghe’s face reddened with anger, and he bellowed, “Ning Qingjing, what you are using is not the Long Night Black Burning Sword.”

“Right, we are using a Swordsmanship exclusive to the 99th Army, modified by Sikong Jing into the Dark Wing Black Burning Sword, it seems there’s no rule saying I can’t improve our army’s standard Swordsmanship, right?”

Ning Jingjing sneered repeatedly, staring unflinchingly at Lan Zhuanghe.

The latter’s face was incredibly ferocious.

In fact, every soldier of the Long Night Black Burning Camp was required to learn the Black Burning Swordsmanship, which represented the camp, and its quality was such that everyone could master it.

If a warrior used any other swordsmanship, he would be reprimanded.

However, the 99th Army still used the Black Burning Sword, merely enhancing the sword’s power, so there were no issues.

Even submitting this to higher-ups might even earn a reward, and perhaps the entire Long Night Black Burning Army would switch to using the Dark Wing Black Burning Sword.

Lan Zhuanghe’s breathing became ragged, and he bellowed again, “If you have the guts, come and attack the city!”

Now, it was Lan Zhuanghe’s turn to shout at Ning Jingjing to come and attack the city.

Even if the 99th Army had improved in every way, their numbers were still insufficient to take down the 96th Legion’s castle.

Ning Jingjing merely sneered, “We could simply besiege you without attacking, cut off your water and food supply, until you kneel and beg for mercy.”

With these words, Lan Zhuanghe almost spat blood; it was the very insidious strategy he had wanted to employ the night before.

“Or you could just inform Commander Yan right now, sobbing and sniveling, that you have lost to me,” Ning Jingjing sarcastically added, causing Lan Zhuanghe’s chest to almost burst.

If he had a fortress to defend and still had to ask for help, where would he put his dignity?

At this, Ning Jingjing no longer paid him any attention and returned to her troops.

But her brow furrowed, and she pondered ways to assault the city, but after a long while, she still had no solution.

Suddenly, Sikong Jing stepped forward, “General Ning, I do have a method for attack.”

Ning Jingjing’s eyes flashed, skeptical.

Although Sikong Jing was a general in the Canglong Small Domain, an elite camp like the Long Night Black Burning Camp was entirely different.

In the Innate Realm, one would only be a minor soldier.

Yet Sikong Jing had already spoken, and he now produced a Green Jade Tube, saying, “I have a set of decent Martial Skills here.

Though only Earth Grade, they can serve as a weapon for besieging the city.”

Ning Jingjing took it and after a glance, said, “Beast Skill Flowing Cloud?”

“Yes, I deduced it from the Flowing Cloud Flying Squirrel.

It can allow black-armored soldiers to scale walls,” Sikong Jing nodded.

Ning Jingjing shook her head, “That won’t work, the top is full of 96th Legion’s men and their contraptions.”

Even if they could get on the city walls, they couldn’t take it down.

“Hence, another method is needed.”

Sikong Jing smiled, “Lan Zhuanghe doesn’t recognize my face that clearly; we could find a few soldiers similar to my build, disguise them, and then send them up the walls.”

Ning Jingjing’s pupils contracted, beginning to understand Sikong Jing’s idea.

“Lan Zhuanghe despises me to the bone.

What would he do if I appeared on the wall?”

“He would definitely order his men to bring the person before him, rather than kill them on sight.

The wall is so vast, we can scale it from several angles,” Sikong Jing explained.

At this, Ning Jingjing comprehended completely and immediately decided to accept the plan.

Following that, she quickly mobilized, selected soldiers from the black-armored soldiers who were similar in build to Sikong Jing, and then disguised them.

Then, the first man to scale the wall using the Beast Skill Flowing Cloud…

“I am Sikong Jing, I am here to negotiate with General Lan.”

The man’s voice arose in a corner of the city wall.

The cohort of black-armored soldiers looked at each other and then promptly captured this man, bringing him to Lan Zhuanghe.

The previous battle had been fought in the dark of night; they could not recognize the real from the fake Sikong Jing.

After this person was taken away, several more appeared on the walls, “I am Sikong Jing, I have come to negotiate.”

Just like that, under confusing circumstances, the people of the 96th Legion escorted “Sikong Jing” to find Lan Zhuanghe.
