but he has a Spirit Martial Root.”

Pfft…

Qin Heng spat out a mouthful of water and weakly waved his hand, “The usual rules, take him as an apprentice, put him in the Apprentice Institute and give him the harshest conditions, if he can stay, let him stay, if he can’t, let him leave.”

Hearing this, the instructor acknowledged and left.

And Qin Heng couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth and sighed.

At that moment, an elder came over, “Vice Palace Master Qin, shouldn’t you mention to the Palace Master that if Tan Yue keeps messing around like this, the Drunk Dragon Mountain will be wasted, and the reputation of the Holy Dragon Academy will be completely ruined by him.”

The Long Night Saint Dragon Palace had seven mountains; therefore, each mountain had an Institute Master.

Drunk Dragon Mountain was one of them, with Tan Yue as its Institute Master.

But the guy did nothing serious all day except drink, and when he got drunk, he would recklessly take in people.

As Qin Heng said, he would recruit anyone as students, including old men, children, and even prostitutes, making the Holy Dragon Palace a mess.

This time was also quite absurd, even accepting someone with a Spirit Martial Root.

Since Tan Yue took over Drunk Dragon Mountain, he hadn’t produced any decent students, and now there weren’t many left.

After the entrance examination, few students were willing to choose Drunk Dragon Mountain.

Qin Heng’s lips twitched, he glanced at the elder and said lightly, “Why don’t you mention it?”

Instantly, the elder shivered violently.

Everyone knew that Tan Yue had a rather delicate relationship with the Palace Master, who was female.

It was said that in her youth, she and Tan Yue had a deep and unforgettable relationship, but for some reason, she detested him deeply.

So people generally didn’t dare to bring up Tan Yue in front of the Palace Master, as it was very easy to trigger her temper.

One elder was punished to clean latrines for a year last time he spoke out of turn.

Sighing softly, Qin Heng said, “I will find a time to have a talk with Tan Yue myself.”

…

In the middle of the Long Night Seven Dragon Mountain, there was a valley.

From the main gate of the Holy Dragon Palace, one could directly access it, and from the valley, you could go to each of the Seven Dragon Mountains.

The valley was crowded with buildings and bustling with people, resembling a busy market more than anything else.

Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi, led by the instructor who had just reported to Qin Heng, arrived in the valley market.

“This is Holy Dragon Town, where most of the residents are either students of the Holy Dragon Palace or the families of the students and instructors.”

“The outermost area is the family market zone, further inside is the Apprentice School Region, and at the center is the Holy Dragon Academy, which includes the Task Hall, Martial Arts Hall, Combat Hall, Teaching Hall, among others.”

The instructor introduced everything to Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi in a listless voice.

“Since you never took the test, even though you were recruited by Tan Yue, you must start as an apprentice.

Hereafter, study in the Apprentice Zone, and your family member can stay in the family area.”

As he said this, the instructor glanced at Su Yuexi, finding her quite beautiful.

Yet Su Yuexi was stunned, “An apprentice again?”

She was coerced into being an apprentice at the Long Night Star Palace, and still an apprentice in the Holy Dragon Palace?

It didn’t sound comfortable to her ears.

“Again?” the instructor asked with some confusion.

Su Yuexi quickly explained, “Master Wen, my husband was actually heading to Xingluo Palace with a recommendation letter, but they said apprentices had to wait hand and foot on official students, like servants, so we did not accept.”

As she spoke, Su Yuexi looked at the instructor before her, thinking that she should not let Brother Jing be mistreated if the same was expected here.

And the instructor in front of them was surnamed Wen, named Wen Hu.

“Hahaha…”

Suddenly, Wen Hu burst into laughter and said, “So, you’ve been to the Xingluo Palace…

Tsk, that place is just like this, from top to bottom, they’re all trash who always look down on apprentices as if they were dogs.”

“But we at the Holy Dragon Palace do not.”

As he spoke, Wen Hu then turned to Sikong Jing and said, “Apprentices at the Holy Dragon Palace only need to do tasks; completing tasks is sufficient.

However, the process is relatively more brutal, even the rate at which apprentices are eliminated is very high.”

He stared deeply at Sikong Jing, thinking about the harsh conditions Qin Heng had mentioned.

“For instance, in the first month, you must complete all the apprentice tasks, or else you’ll just have to leave.” Wen Hu’s language was getting increasingly unpleasant as he continued, “I’m taking you two to the Holy Dragon Academy now to tell you what the tasks are.”

“Of course, if you don’t want to be an apprentice, you can leave now.”

After finishing, he looked at Sikong Jing again.

It would be best if he left now—having a Spirit Martial Root is simply too outrageous.

Yet Sikong Jing asked, “Apprentices have the opportunity to be promoted to official students, right?”

As long as he’s not becoming a servant, there is nothing terrible about being an apprentice…

as long as there is a pathway for promotion, that’s all that matters.

“Plenty of opportunities.

I will explain everything in detail for you later,” Wen Hu replied with a smile, yet in his heart, he added, “And you still wish to be promoted?

If you can stay in the Apprentice Zone for a full month, I’ll concede defeat.”

Of course, the last sentence was not spoken aloud.

In this way, Wen Hu led Sikong Jing and Su Yuexi through the family market area and the Apprentice School Region to reach the central Holy Dragon Academy.

The area here was not small, but the number of people was relatively few.

“First, we will go to the Holy Dragon Task Hall.”

Wen Hu said as he led Sikong Jing into a large hall.

Inside, surprisingly, there were quite a few people, and Sikong Jing saw at a glance that many of them were very powerful, almost all of them at the Innate Realm.

Some were surrounded by admirers, while others were alone.

At that moment, a woman in her twenties approached gracefully, smiling as she asked, “Master Wen, who are these two?”

The woman was dressed in a white standard robe, wearing a badge on her chest.

It bore the words “Holy Dragon Task Hall” in large characters—clearly, she was a staff member of the Task Hall.

Wen Hu looked at her oddly and casually replied, “So it’s your shift today, Yu Yan.”

Then he pointed at Sikong Jing and said, “This young man is a new apprentice taken in by Master Tan.”

The woman named Yu Yan widened her eyes slightly, then quickly understood the odd look in Wen Hu’s eyes—it was well-known that Tan Yue was infamous for randomly taking in people when drunk, and it was always a mess.

Yet, with Master Tan’s status, you couldn’t afford to be too perfunctory with the people he specifically chose to take in.

“First, give him an apprentice token, and then introduce him to the rules for apprentices,” Wen Hu instructed.

Soon, Yu Yan handed Sikong Jing a token.

It was engraved with a lifelike Baby Dragon, which looked quite cute.

She then had Sikong Jing drip his blood onto it, and after a flash of golden light, the token dimmed again.

After that was sorted out, Yu Yan began introducing Sikong Jing…

“Your apprentice token has been activated, and you are now officially an apprentice of the Holy Dragon Palace.”

“The symbol of an apprentice is the Baby Dragon, which will grow as you advance.

There’s a ‘Level 1’ on the Baby Dragon, indicating you’re currently a Level 1 Apprentice.

Apprenticeship has nine levels, and only upon reaching Level 9 do you have the chance to be promoted to an official student.”

“If you cannot advance before the age of twenty-four, you will automatically graduate and must leave the Holy Dragon Palace.”

Upon hearing this, Sikong Jing immediately picked up the token and examined it; indeed, there was a small ‘Level 1’ above the Baby Dragon’s head.
